You made it so effortless with those straps. Some use those metal bars wit handles on them. Only concern is scratching the hardwood surface if the plastic gets mess up on the bottom
I am a woman with health issues and can't move my heavy furniture but can't find anyone to help move it. When I was stronger I had all the help in the world.
I use those too. I also cut small pieces of carpet. When i get to the doorway, or wherever there is hard surface i switch to upside down carpet pieces. The upside down carpet pieces work the same as skids on hard surface and will not scratch the floors like skids can. Don't scratch floors, it won't pay well.
Hey Ruben this is Tony down here in South Texas corpus Christi. I've been in the flooring business for 15 years. Residential and commercial. Mainly commercial..
I used to be a furniture installer/house mover, any time u had a noob on the crew made for a good day at work watchn people trying to learn how to move things for the first time can be very comical
I have some but i would not recommend moving stuff over hardwood floors like you did gng out the room you will scratch somebodys floors with the slidders you have to attach the pad covers that are made for slidders to use on hardwood floors
Christian Wilson I will usually use Strip of carpet that I am removing to slide it on if there is tile or wood, this is my house and the Laminate in there it’s killed so I did not worry about it
@@FloorsbySouthernboys you got all the tricks in the book i do that sometimes cup up carpet and flip in over and put in under the furniture when moving on wood and tile keep up the good work 👍
Thankyou, grt video very help tip !! To move furniture without putting so much strain on the body..wow, you make so easy with the furniture slider..askew aswesome !!
Very nice long furniture gliders, I haven’t seen those b-4, but it’s easy when you don’t have stairs involved, what about when you do? 😅 I just moved, reason why I asked. I felt sorry for the movers as their company didn’t give them any tools to work with and protect their backs from getting injured. They are very good at what they do, they protect the furnitures better than themselves, but they use body force for every heavy boxes and furnitures. I just wanted to know if there’s any other way to protect your back in cases like this, when there’s too many stairs involved? Other than hand trucks, what else is there? PS.: they didn’t have the hand truck as well. 😥
@@FloorsbySouthernboys Maybe glue a strip of berber to the bottom of a second set of straps...you would just have to switch straps when you get to the transition but it's worth it to avoid costly damage.
prolly could throw a towel or blanket down at the doorway then slide with that, or even make a trail of blankets or some sort of rubberbacked mats to slide across to where you'll store them during the job
I wanted to move my dresser because I realized I had a mirror need put on! How was I gonna do it🤷🏽♀️then I had the Slay Bed 🛌 mattress and bo spring to also move 🤦🏽♀️ I went and set with my 💭 thoughts came up with an idea 💡👏🏽👏🏽 I went to Walmart and brought a LoJack used to lift vehicles. I put the mattress in the bathroom b my room half and half the the box spring was next I put the jack under my slay bed and placed the furniture movers underneath and I slide n slide as much as I needed and I rotated the bed place box spring in it next mattress and it’s over now I wish I would have had one of those slides things he has
i have been looking for things like those sliders for years and that simply doesn't exist in Europe, wth is wrong with people and companies here?! These are amazing! I had to get them shipped here from the US for a fortune...
Do u know of anything similar to use on hard tile floors for heavy objects? I have a cleaning business and service medical offices. I need to move medical exam tables to strip and wax floors and I work alone.
You could put these felt pads on the bottom of the sliders that I use in this video and I believe that would work awesome, it would still give you something to grab and pour the tables with
They work great, be careful on hardwood. They need a little maintenance, I have both lengths and noticed they surface gets a little rough. You may use fine sand paper to smooth them and a clear car wax or something that will not stain even a light sanding will help. Lol I have lost 2 sets of 4 foot ones. I noticed one customer had a set just like mine at end of the job, so now I'm putting a mark on up sides. Glad to see you using them bro, cause it saves your back.
I have the same ones but mine have metal pull bars that hook into the eye holes. I think I like the straps better might have to buy another pair. Either way these are a must have for any installers. Thanks Reuben
Good House Installations Inc. Completely agree, my first pair that I had years ago had the metal bars with hooks, when I bought this time they came with straps
Good House Installations Inc. Oh snap, the Link came from my old order where I purchased mine, they must have changed something, thanks for letting me know that
I have a huge problem. My door height is 7’ in height. My furniture piece is 8’ in height and 10’ wide. Can't move it thru the front door. We do have an enclosed balcony about 4’ in height, and the balcony is very long. Any ideas on moving ng this easily?
This is a great solution for me needing to move my own furniture. Only problem is there are 2 steps to get up to the parking lot. 🙄 don't even understand why the apt complex designed like that
Use a dolly. That may scratch hard floors (by catching debris). Moved furniture 16 years and wouldn't use this. Pulling is more stressing on the body than pushing
Tilted on its back and put some wheels on the bottom all you have to do is drill four holes and stick some casters in there you can take them out when you’re done
Hi, another great vid, had no idea these even existed, will definitely look into getting some, great back saver! Btw, when it comes to moving customers furniture, do you consider yourself liable if you were to accidentally cause any damage to it, or do you provide the service of moving furniture but at the customers own risk? Thanks
If you are wanting to move it out of the room it will probably take two people, and you will probably need to lean the couch over front words I am either Carrie or slide it out on different side of it, definitely want to take a strain or a bungee cord or something like that and fasten the mattress down to the couch frame, the last thing you want is to be carrying that couch and the bed to unfold
@@FloorsbySouthernboys for sure I got it down the stairs by myself with your advise.... Just gonna have to leave the couch down there if I sell the house lol! Ain't picking that up again.
Henry Schuitema No not usually, this is my house and I did hear because the laminate is old and ruined it will be replaced in the future, but I do not do that at a customers house
When he tilted that dresser so easily I knew this wasn't the video for me. I don't have any of that cheap pressed particle furniture and my solid wood bedroom pieces aren't so easy to tilt.
