Stop Blaming Women for Abortions! More often than not the abortion is because of a man. • A man who forced himself • A man who left • A man who won't step up • A man who won't support • A man who won't participate When are we going to hold MEN responsible for abortion?

I believe that only having to be on the hook for child support will help some men pay attention to what all is happening to America. Rethuglicons are by nature, selfish and narcissistic. They don't give a crap about anyone else but themselves so if it affects their wallet, these soulless morons will eventually wake up. It's interesting that in sooo many true crime stories when the side girlfriend gets pregnant, how desperate the male gets demanding the woman he impregnated gets an abortion asap. Now, these same males will have lots of red tape to deal with. It's disgusting it has to take this for these men to open their f'g eyes!

I grew up in Texas in the 60s and 70s. Women hemorrhaging to death, or getting septic and dying from “back alley abortions”, as they were called, was common. My mother almost died from one. I was forced to have the children of my abuser, even though I was desperate not to. It took me years to recover from my life that began as a teenage mother. My kids deserved an adult as a mother. They deserved not to grow up in poverty. Religious misogyny is alive and well in Texas. I left in 1971, vowing never to return.

I'm not pro-“murdering babies”. I'm pro-Becky who found out at her 20 week anatomy scan that the infant she had been so excited to bring into this world had developed without life sustaining organs. I'm pro-Susan who was sexually assaulted on her way home from work, only to come to the horrific realization that her assailant planted his seed in her when she got a positive pregnancy test result a month later. I'm pro-Theresa who hemorrhaged due to a placental abruption, causing her parents, spouse, and children to have to make the impossible decision on whether to save her or her unborn child. I'm pro-little Cathy who had her innocence ripped away from her by someone she should have been able to trust and her 11 year old body isn't mature enough to bear the consequence of that betrayal. I'm pro-Melissa who's working two jobs just to make ends meet and has to choose between bringing another child into poverty or feeding the children she already has because her spouse walked out on her. I'm pro-Brittany who realizes that she is in no way financially, emotionally, or physically able to raise a child. I'm pro-Emily who went through IVF, ending up with SIX viable implanted eggs requiring selective reduction in order to ensure the safety of her and a SAFE amount of fetuses. I'm pro-Christina who doesn't want to be a mother, but birth control methods sometimes fail. I'm pro-Jessica who is FINALLY getting the strength to get away from her physically abusive spouse only to find out that she is carrying the monster's child. I'm pro-Vanessa who went into her confirmation appointment after YEARS of trying to conceive only to hear silence where there should be a heartbeat. I'm pro-Lindsay who lost her virginity in her sophomore year with a broken condom and now has to choose whether to be a teenage mom or just a teenager. I'm pro-Courtney who just found out she's already 13 weeks along, but the egg never made it out of her fallopian tube so either she terminates the pregnancy or risks dying from internal bleeding. You can argue and say that I'm pro-choice all you want, but the truth is: I'm pro-life. Their lives. Women's lives. You don't get to pick and choose which scenarios should be accepted. Women's rights are meant to protect ALL women, regardless of their situation!

Now they can actually sue poor girls or women pregnant without resources for $10,000. This isn't supporting life, it's greed, cruelty, and persecution. And manslaughter by medical negligence for every pregnant girl and woman that dies in pregnancy or childbirth, not to speak of infants without support or resources, infants born with problems and no medical coverage, malnutrition, even homelessness. WHERE are the pro-lifers? Busy with law suits and patting one another on the back. What awesome hypocrisy. South Carolina has actually criminalized D&Cs. That means every woman or girl who has miscarried cannot get her uterus cleaned so chances are she will die from sepsis. That's murder. It is a dynamic that had developed, in my opinion, through being fed small "victories" to placate the masses. the "we have arrived" syndrom of feeling that everything is fine for now keeps people from carrying things further until a crisis erupts. We should have been fighting the glass ceiling, black lives matter, women's equity and other minority fights all along. Reporting a woman who has an abortion is in breach with the HIPPA and the person involved in such actions should not be allowed in any medical function. People who break this oath are a threat to society and to the institutions people need to be able to trust in.

First of all, it is not HIPPA, it is HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Secondly, HIPAA is not a practitioner oath. It is a federal statute. The problem with doctors waiting until a mothers life is in danger is that doctors run a business. They can be sued if some anti-abortion nut decides that that woman wasn’t in enough danger to terminate pregnancy. Most doctors, who don’t want to be sued, don’t take chances on that. They wait until it is obvious that a woman’s life is in danger to terminate a pregnancy, which can often be far too late to save her. In the case of one woman who had cancer and was off her treatment to carry a wanted second child, she started having problems around 24 weeks. She eventually went to the hospital because she was struggling to breathe and she wasn’t stabilizing. She and her husband already had an agreement with their doctor that if the pregnancy went sideways, she would get an abortion and immediately get back on treatment. Her husband and child waited in the waiting room for her to be treated, but the doctors in the room (none of whom were her own doctor) knew that their state had fetal personhood laws and didn’t want to risk being sued for feticide. They informed the husband as such and he begged them to induce anyway, since she was already a mother and he and their first child loved and needed her. 8 minutes after her fetus lost viability, the doctors finally induced and tried to stabilize her, but the oxygen in her blood had already dropped too far and her heartbeat came to a stop. That wasn’t even because they were sued, that was because the hospital was afraid of being sued. Women die when people decide they care more about fetal personhood than a living woman’s right to life. I understand someone’s distaste for abortion and that’s their personal choice, but it should not impact other people and take their choice from them. Forget the fetus. The woman carrying a fetus is already a living, breathing person with a family and history and opportunities ahead of them. That woman already has am incredible impact on the lives of the people around her. A fetus has the possibility of an impact, but nothing certain. We know for a fact that there will be people who suffer and grieve for this woman; there may only be one person who ever knows that a fetus existed once. Value the woman who is needed by her community more than a fetus who has yet to be a part of it.

But in medical care it's not about their opinion, it's about giving the best care that you can give, whether you agree with the person or not. Personal opinions should stay just that: personal. If a medical carer violates the HIPPA by for instance reporting on a person to others outside the realm of the medical care, then they never be allowed to practice any longer and kept away from patients. My friend was 8 weeks pregnant when she was hit by a motorcycle while on her bicycle on the way home. In their rush to save her, the doctors failed to give her a pregnancy test before they flooded her body with radiation, doing numerous x-rays in consecutive surgeries. When she woke up, she and her husband were faced with an impossible decision - either carry the baby to full term, knowing full well that it suffered life debilitating mutations during the first hours o her accident or terminate the pregnancy peacefully. I am very glad to say that at least here in Israel, her doctors advised her to terminate the pregnancy rather than subject her child to a life of difficulties. It broke both of their hearts, but they did. Over 2 years later they decided they were healed enough to try again and welcomed a healthy baby boy into their family. I shudder to think what would have been the fate of their family, and that of the baby's in the hands of "Post Roe America"

Roe doesn't have to be overturned, so they may have been telling the truth. Roe can simply be nullified if a baby in utero is found to be a person with human rights. Roe doesn't apply to people with human rights. Science and med tech has advanced so much that we can now clearly see that a baby in the womb is a living person who responds to stimuli, has preferences, and feels pain. Some don't like loud music, some love certain kinds of music, some wiggle and jump when they hear voices of people they recognize. And modern ultrasounds show a baby in utero looks just like they do when they come out, and have the same habits and mannerisms (personality) they did when they were inside mom. We've simply advanced and we know that's a little person now, not a 'clump of cells.'

Interesting to see our country, the Republic of Ireland, feature here. Abortion here engendered a well-known phrase: "An Irish solution for an Irish problem", referring to abortion being illegal Buuuuuut people didn't care if women went to England instead to get abortions. Problem. Solution. However, given the times we live in, and that the contemporary Republic of Ireland is a modern, Left-leaning state, and a place where religion is all but dead (totally dead, when it comes to any political power/control), the Irish electorate voted in a landslide to back abortion. A couple of issues helped influence the vote - primarily the death of Savita, an Indian immigrant, in a directly related matter, and also the many women who spoke out to say that they desperately wanted to carry to full term the pregnancies they had, but their pregnancies were unviable and/or posed a serious threat to their lives, so they went to England to get abortions instead. They felt abandoned by the Irish state, even though they desperately wanted their pregnancy to complete, yet ended up having to travel to another country and get remains posted back to them. It's shocking that my American niece will soon not only have less rights than her Irish cousins, but will grow up in a country that clearly values women less by the year, and is trying to reverse rights and equality backwards by several decades, largely driven there by far right extremists and deeply, deeply callous Christian fundamentalists, trying to force their standards on everyone. Ultimately, if you don't believe in abortion - that's fine. Don't engage with that, then, and Your rights are still protected. But that doesn't mean you can force everyone else to follow what You want to see, as it's a personal choice, not a mandated thing. Good luck, American women. I know that many Irish women are appalled by this move backwards.

Odd perspective, as we're just asking our Federal government to stop forcing it on us, to let local people decide for our own communities. And abortion was originally promoted and established here by eugenecists whom Hitler admired to 'keep down the numbers of undesirables.' Black babies are killed in very disproportionate numbers as compared to white babies here. You say 'if you don't believe in abortion, fine don't engage with that'. Should we have said the same thing about slavery? 'if you don't believe in slavery, fine, don't have a slave'? Just as Black people have human rights, babies in the womb have human rights, and we're trying to win rights for them, as rights were won for enslaved people. Let the process play out. We are ultimately deciding if a living human is a person. If it is, then babies should have their human rights protected.

It is time to place term limits on the Supreme Court to end the jockeying that the two major parties perform to get their person in, which affects the next 40 years, in some cases, of judicial decisions. Why can’t we have each president during their term nominate two justices and then have them retire in 18 years. That should be enough to fulfill their desire to be impartial as they could simply retire or teach law or return to a lower bench. Term limits would allow law interpretations based on the prevailing popular opinion that elected the President. It’s time.

Let’s say you miscarry, if after 9 months from the recorded pregnancy a birth isn’t recorded you’ll get a knock on the door. If it’s illegal to abort won’t you have to prove the miscarriage genuine. How would you go about that? What enforcement group would do that enquiry? What form will it take? Will it require an invasive procedure to validate the miscarriage? Do you trust law enforcement & the justice system to get this done right? These are all questions that will have to be answered. This is what enforcement looks like when you criminalise things. Going beyond the discussion in this report-a hypothetical: What if the number of children put up for adoption doubles? A lot of states have a hard time dealing with the foster children they already have and most states are _not_ prepared for a big increase in the number of children put up for adoption. Are Republicans ready to pay billions of dollars _more_ annually for foster and childcare? A broad tax increase for this won't play well politically or economically on the state or federal level.
