This is ALL going to change and then some, between "Napoleon" and "The Color Purple" alone . That said, my bet is that "Anatomy" and Sandra will get in, and "Killers" is The One To Watch Against "Oppenheimer." As ever, youse twose are the berries. More, please, thank you.
Thank you for taking my question. I do hope that "The Holdovers" will do well, both at the box office and with the awards for individual performances/crafts. I want films that can make me laugh - and cry - without having to ask myself if I've become person so different from other people that where they find humor, I only find horror.
Chris, I have to laugh. Who are the young people who want to be boomers? Young filmmakers? Young musicians? I fully understand the desire to be part of the world when it was analog.@@chrisjrosen
She Said, lol. I love me sone Ms Mulligan, robbed for PYW, but She Said. Yes, we all knew the story and , yes, i can easily see a movie for what it is, but i found the PBS doc Weinstein more intriguing than She Said. Maybe just me.
It's incredible how you two make such a big thing about the 3 hrs 26 minute runtime, how it's a "5 hour ordeal" and the like, though you weren't bothered much by the Oppenheimer's runtime, which is only 25 minutes shorter. I also remember that a few years ago hardly anybody was bothered by the Avengers: Endgame 3 hour run time. I don't get it why suddenly it's a big deal.
I think they think that because of the slow pace of Scorsese's latest films. Oppenheimer and Endgame are fast-paced and appear to be shorter than 3 hours.
@@gileadeandradesilva Firstly, Oppenheimer isn't fast paced, it's mostly men in rooms, talking. Secondly, they don't say it feels long, they say it simply is long, hence "problems watching it in the evening or even in the afternoon" or "a 5-hour ordeal" because you have to drive to a cinema and then go back... So weird, because they didn't voice such problems before.
@@ktom5262 I would just disagree with the Oppenheimer comment. It is absolutely fast-paced and cooks -- you might not think so, but that puts you in a little bit of a minority opinion. That's okay! I think in terms of "a night out at the movies," spending 4-5 hours out for Endgame and Avatar and even Oppenheimer is a bit different because those are "event" films (and as Scorsese has rightly said about Marvel, Endgame is more of a theme-park ride). Flower Moon is an adult drama without the fireworks of those movies. Which is also okay! And it moves and remains engaging because it's Scorsese and Thelma. But it is a fact that a lot of regular people are going to give pause to going to this movie when they might not have for Oppenheimer or Endgame, etc.
I feel like RDJ can easily sweep, and even Emma Stone depending on how much love KOTFM gets. She is the only actress I can see winning SAG, Globes, and BAFTA.
@@rubendove2617 rn, I don't see Gladstone winning any precursor other than maybe golden globes. i think critics choice will go to someone like Stone or Huller.
