A lot of ppl commenting about cutting gov servant & politician salary. Sure , but even if we do that, it will only save us few hundred millions, not even peanut compare to the hundreds of billions of subsidies spent each year. Our country problems lies in an outdated, stagnant economic structure which in turn not able to generate enough income thru trades. No amount of expenses cutting, subsidies giving, or taxations is going to work if the products/services we produces don’t move up in the value chain.
They don't understand gov jobs pay is already very low and only compensated with semi-decent benefits. Only the top few positions are paid well. But despite of cutting those top positions, it wouldn't even make a dent in the billions wasted in subsidies. The reality is that rich Malaysians need to stop dodging taxes and poor Malaysians need to stop abusing the government's assistance and start being productive. Shitty government is only elected by shitty people. 😂
Given Selective implementation of MA63 , Malaysia , the Nation can be Considered as One of the Modern Wonders of the World…. ie. Quick to Change Name from Malaya to Malaysia But No Political Will nor Fortitude to Acknowledge & Address other Provisions… Making MA63 a Phenomena ..😊
Transformation dows not happen overnight. Gov can remove subsidy but not a sudden jump of RM1.2. Should have done it by steps by increasing RM0.2-0.3 in every 3 months. Just a year timeframe to slowly trimoff the deficit. Also should have implement 6% GST instead of 8% SST.
@@vbdemystified709 Not about driving diesel. Is to curb the price of services going up. Try with petrol sudden jump RM1.2 see what happen. Then you ask everyone driving petrol car why not switch to EV!?
We should not be removing it at all. Our industries are uncompetitive. We are highly dependent on the cheap labor manufacturing sector. If we take away subsidies for companies what do you think is going to happen? Suddenly our industries will become more competitive? We can take away subsidies but at least wait until the Ringgit has strengthened so that the cost of import will be cheaper. If u want to take away subsidy at that point, fine. Now is not the right time. Unfortunately we have a populist socialist government that doesn't care about the people but cares more about winning the next election. I would much rather the government stop giving silly bantuan Rahmah or civil servant bonuses which brings temporary minimum benefits to the economy over cutting diesel subsidy price. People need to realize, we can't make the poor less poor unless we make the rich richer.
FMT killin it. 👍 I wouldn't say it's a great animated video, but you guys are on the right track. There's an art to making animated videos, the script and the animation must work in tandem, this will reduce distraction and help viewers understand the point better.
CORRUPT Politicians is Malaysia’s Single Most BIGGEST Threat to Governance … Given Chronic & Rampant Levels, nothing will Change unless Enhanced Whistleblower Legislation is Introduced & IMPLEMENTED … ie. Not Only Protection for Whistleblower & Family But also with Monetary Reward$… Then Watch Heads Roll 😊
There is NO corruption in Malaysia. ALL Malaysians working in SG MUST return to Malaysia and help their country to prosper. Malaysians who work in a foreign country are not loyal to their homeland.
I can get the corrupted politicians are the ones who screwed Malaysian economy but don't you think that the blur rakyat themselves are to be blamed for their own blur choices? Who is the one chose the one guy who can't do economy right in the first place?
@@jer2911.L That is NOT how you convince the Malaysians to return and work for the homeland. I mean, REALLY? Malaysia, a country renowned for its vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, and delicious cuisine, has recently achieved a spectacular feat: it has been ranked as the 10th most peaceful country in the Global Peace Index. This ranking is not just a testament to the nation's tranquility but a nod to the harmonious coexistence of its diverse population, which includes Malays, Chinese, Indians, and various indigenous groups. This multicultural tapestry is interwoven with mutual respect and understanding, creating an environment of peace and stability. One of the most amusing aspects of this ranking is that Malaysia, known for its bustling cities and rapid urbanization, has managed to outpace some of the traditionally peaceful countries. Imagine serene Norway or tranquil Switzerland looking over their shoulders and finding Malaysia, with its energetic capital Kuala Lumpur and its throbbing nightlife, catching up in the peace race. The juxtaposition is almost comical, considering Malaysia's enthusiasm for public festivities and the high-decibel joy of its street markets. Moreover, Malaysia's wildlife might seem at odds with a peaceful image. The country is home to the elusive Malayan tiger and boisterous orangutans. The thought of these majestic yet unpredictable creatures coexisting harmoniously with Malaysia’s serene human populace adds a delightful twist to the narrative. It’s as if Malaysia’s jungles and urban jungles have struck an unspoken truce, contributing to the overall peace index. The nation’s political landscape also offers a bit of irony in its peaceful ranking. Malaysia's political scene can be quite colorful, with frequent changes and lively debates that would make one think of anything but peace. Yet, this democratic vibrancy somehow translates into a stable environment where citizens can enjoy their daily lives without fear of turmoil. Finally, Malaysia’s love for spicy food adds an amusing element to its peaceful persona. The fiery dishes like nasi lemak and sambal might set your mouth ablaze, but they evidently do nothing to ignite conflict. If anything, they bring people together, united in their quest to cool down their taste buds. In conclusion, Malaysia’s position as the 10th most peaceful country in the Global Peace Index is a delightful paradox, blending bustling urban life, lively politics, wild nature, and spicy cuisine into a harmonious symphony of peace.
Yes start at parliament level. So much can be done to reduce cost and pass nenefits to the rakyat. Does the govt has the will and strength to bite the bullet? Reduce seats means reducing "dunguus" in parliaments too
To keep a balanced budget, two ways to address it. Trimming the uncontrollable waste of expenditure and increase the income of transparent duties, taxes and investments collection. The best technology to invest in is the AI transformation of institutions. To reduce manpower of personal dealing ( reduce corruption handling).
To turn around the economy the government must stop borrowing money, review the budget proposal by the most responsible people, and reduce the yearly deficit budget.
With all due respect, as mentioned, wages have to be raised to enable consumers to bear the tax increases, what about us pensioners? I am not talking about the ex-ministers, ex-MPs', and politicians who receive pensions. I am talking about the lower earned civil servants who are grappling with the high prices and increase in utilities bills, how are we to survive?
As others said, work again. Pls realise that the truth about pension system is basically a pyramid scheme where it is supported from the bottom by the working class (20 - 55 years old), while the retiree is at the top reaping the benefits. Problem is, when pension was introduced, life expectancy was around 65 years old & it was sustainable to just fund a retiree for 10+ years. Now, people live on avg 30 over years past retiring until 85+ and you basically got equal amount of retirees as the working class people & this breaks the system as it is not sustainable. Which is why many wants gov to change to EPF system especially for the politicians.
@@Rncko the point of pensions is that you gave lower salaries to government servants. Its a trade off with the benefits. If all benefits no more then who will work in the government sector?
@@namazlur78 As you pointed out, pension scheme got paid lower salary because the lowered portion is supposedly to finance the scheme itself after retirement. Thus, to go epf route, the salary has to be adjusted/higher than pension scheme. At least it is paid higher upfront but just 1 time.

By saying productivity needs to rise, is the government implying that the people are lazy ? That's simply mental. What drives a person to work in certain sectors i.e. construction, waste collection and other dirty jobs ? MONEY ! Yet these are one of the highest profiting sectors with one of the most poorly paid workers in this country. Look at the people manning these jobs, tell me what nationality are they ? Mostly Bangladeshi or Indonesian because of the exchange rate. Its the same when the older generations are blaming Gen Z for being lazy and demotivated when the real problem is that we have shit jobs with shit wages. Pay them enough and soon you will see your unemployment rate decrease, along with a reduction in immigration and money wasted to host them in the nation. Again, the main point is not productivity but rather to increase wages according to inflation and invest in shit jobs so that people manning them would also be considered as professionals.
it means to use better machinery, processes or systems to increase the output per capita. Higher productivity means more GDP and higher income jobs (eventually).
@@typoerror177 I really doubt by using better machinery and processes can help Malaysians out of this predicament or situation. We are still in the phase where most of us need to earn money to pay taxes and reduce the people living off welfare - with good means of course. If things get automated or streamlined, then where do the rakyat fit in to prospects of having a good paying job ? It simply contradicts itself. Yet this is not even answering where Malaysia stands in global export, I really doubt we are such an all rounder to which we are lagging behind in production instead of quality.
@@brendongunn9477 this is actually the problem with every country in the world. the rich, if possible don't want to share their wealth with the poor. the only thing that keeps workers in employment is because the fact that not everything in this world can be automated yet. im afraid what would happen once we reach that level of automation. i hate it, we are supposed to be excited that humanity is getting more advance, but instead we become more anxious for fear of losing job.
@@brendongunn9477with the advancement of tech, people are supposed to work for higher level jobs, ie: designing, manning & supervising machineries. It is impossible to turn Malaysia's Economy around. Anyone who wants to make changes are met with many sturborn selfish rejections. Just too many problems, sabotages, selfishness and just too many issues to be addressed and not addressed.
All these will guarantee supply side inflation. Msia is also suffering from asset and currency deflation, which foreign investors may deem as risk, except for those data centers that want to utilise our cheap electricity. I think the government should also cut and trim their costs. Do we need so many high paying Ministers to run such a small country?
How did our debt to GDP balloon from 50+ to 60+? The pandemic spending? But who gained from all this? Reduce the size of the government service and focus on efficiency. Bring in the FDI for higher income creation. Revert to GST instead - tax everyone! There has to be pain before gain...
Government have to stand still in this issue, dont u-turn! we all know its good for the country except those selfish brainless people, we can ignore all these selfish brainless people, all this people just think for their own good, whatever initiative take by the government , whether its good or bad, these people will bark when they didnt get any benefits.
It’s human nature, get use to it. When tough times come, it’s often populism / populists that will get the adorations, logical & critical thinking is thrown out of the window
Malaysia government civil servants is too bloated. This is main cause of government expenditure. Government will face severe financial constraints in year to come.
Take note that the highest income group pay the most taxes. The poor does not pay any taxes yet they receive the most benefits. The government must do something to make the poor work harder to bring income for themselves instead of relying on the government.
Your argument is old schools fails neoliberals idea. See what the Global Financial Crisis led to the entire population into poverty. Those highest earning people basically just playing around with the system and then profiting themselves and then when crisis happen wanna use tax payer money to bail them out
on paper the highest income group is supposed to be paying the most tax, but in reality, they benefit the most from tax rebate, shady business practices, etc. in the end the normies like us are the one paying all of these taxes bs
Highest income pay more taxes??. Ya of course you should... Because you grab all the opportunity.... Sometimes the very reason of why some people is poor althought have being working so hard is that the poorer got less access to opportunity n projects...the rich has dominated it's all and appoint poor people to do the job for them... N utilise the poor to make money... Without poor people rich people not gonna being rich... Trust me...
Once there are people asks : Why people in the northern part of the earth are richest the southern part? And, the other said : That isn't truth because there are other nations like Singapore, Australia and New Zealand are in the southern part. If Malaysian doesn't wish to change this bad Malaysians culture nothing will change within 100 years.

Sadly, Malaysia has only deviated from this path after independence, our leaders in mkt, industry and govt chose the latter to gain skin deep expedient modernisation and wealth while corrupting the mindset of the masses with 3R to serve vested interest rather than society and humanity as a whole.
