I challenged myself to watch every episode of Doctor Who ever made in one year. That's 881 episodes spanning 40 seasons, a handful of specials and one TV movie.
This is the eleventh in a series that details my mostly real and occasionally serious observations about the show as I make my way through it.

season 12: does this contain the episode 'the peladon of peladon' composed wholly of random pieces of previous episodes? both fortunately and unfortunately ... no. we could have had 'peloton of peladon', 'the pellet guns of peladon', 'petals gone on peladon', 'the pelicans of peladon', and the following season 'return of the pelicans of peladon' sadly never to be. instead we got scarf-boy watching dozens of troops shooting ineffectually at what looks like a blue peter cardboard and sticky-back plastic 'robot' while it kills them. they might as well have been using peladonian pellet guns. and dear ol jon is gon. off to the corn field. the reaction to all that exciting terribly modern transportation really was too much. wurzel the cars, jon? I've no time fer em, too busy with these pesky crows

Honestly I think the main reason DW never returned to Peladon after this is the producers realised they'd have to refilm all the footage to replace Jon Pertwee.

mind you with the photo-realistic perfection of green screen technology (coff coff) of the later '70s... some more episodes we never got: 'pedaloes across peladon', 'pteranadons of peladon', 'peccadilloes on peladon', 'pedal on, peladon', ... so much lost potential
