It's a good idea, I'd love to see the video, but the answer is mostly format identity. For example, Chalice of the Void crushes moxen, which are half the point of the format. Ponder, Brainstorm, and Lotus Petal step on the toes of Ancestral Recall and the Moxen, 4 copies is too consistent to have the second best version of an effect. So, Legacy is the Brainstorm format, where you expect to have ways to manipulate the top of your deck and cycle, and Chalice is an important card to keep 1 drop and 2 drop plays in check, and also matters against eggs. Vintage is about playing with Power, so overshadowing Ancestral with Brainstorm just because there are more copies is tough, and Chalice on 0 is crippling.

@@LibertyMonk No, it's not because brainstorm "steps on the toes of" ancestral recall, it's because they let you dig for power. Many of the cards on the restricted list are restricted because they make finding power too easy, and thats why the cantrips are banned.

​@@noguy5961Trinisphere, karn, nerset, mystic forge, monsatery mentor, lotus petal, lions eye diamond, balance, thorn of amethyst, mind's desire, lodestone golem, and chalice of the void are all restricted in vintage and none of them draw cards or seek for power...

@@noguy5961Exactly, at one point thirst for knowledge was restricted in vintage and it costs 3 mana. Brainstorm in legacy can draw you LED and such sure, but in vintage you could be drawing multiple restricted cards with one brainstorm and putting back cards that do not matter once you have the powerful restricted cards in your hand. Chalice got restricted because shops really was too good. A shops player on the play would break the back of many decks because they could just go workshop, some moxen, and multiple cards that make playing the game very difficult for any opponent on the first turn. Chalice is really dumb at that because you have basically every deck running zero drops so you could play it for zero and lockpieces like spheres. It wouldn't affect you either because you just run out your moxen/lotus first.

Treasure cruise is only good because it can be 3 for 1-2 Mana. Why would you play it over every bad 3 Mana draw 2? If you spend more than 2, maybe 3 Mana on cruise, you aren't playing vintage magic, and pauper is just vintage lite. Cruise could probably be like, 6 Mana instead of 8 and draw 2. And it would be more reasonable

To make that nerf a bit more readable and playable, it could be a 3U sorcery with delve and "draw X cards, where X is 3 minus the number of cards exiled with ~'s delve ability". Then it'd cycle for 1U, be a Divination for 2U, and then be a 3 max tax on ancestral at full price. Probably very strong, given none of those rates are too unreasonable, but much safer than the delve draw spells that actually got printed.

i think this is the channel where the guy purposefully mispronounces something in every video. I unsubbed long ago, I only had to listen to this one because I had my headset on and was far across the house and couldn't make it back to the computer to go to another video.

Probably mispronounces words so people comment and it results in the algorithm showing the video to more people. More likes and comments mean more visibility. It's pretty dumb.

that + storm cards go crazy with it, and usually you can discard something you dont need. If you have a bounce land or a way to copy the spell you even go mana positive with it

That's the least of his mispronunciations. At least we can be certain he isn't an AI narrator because of the frequent mispronunciations of common English words.

​@@jacksonteller3973it is still a common, but he could taken the extra 10 seconds per card to find a black expansion symbol printing of the card. Its an "attention to detail" thing that probably won't matter, but when you're talking about pauper, it's worth doing. All the cards seem to be most-recent printings, and it's kinda weird seeing Commander or Masters symbols on cards when he's talking about Khans set, etc.

​@@LibertyMonk Exactly, it's a quality thing, he's trying to be kinda funny by intentionally mispronouncing words which is irritating in itself because he's obviously intentionally doing it to farm comments correcting him, and then he doesn't take the time to find appropriate card printings for visuals, doesn't mention rarity changes, etc... he tries to make the video at least somewhat professional but then he does a lot of unprofessional things. Kind of hurts my desire to continue to watch his videos because he clearly doesn't care about them either.

At that point, also make it cost 10 life, sacrifice a creature, and punch you in the nuts

I think just making it two blue and six or seven generic would be enough.

Storm is just a mechanic made for ppl that can’t really play the game and so need to use a deck that doesn’t interact. “Ritual ritual ritual storm” very difficult lol
