I remember being labeled as weird for liking that rarity on release, I was the only one in my local area who liked that ultra rare type. Now, several years later, people have flipped, and joined me in liking that rarity!

I've looked on lots of different sources, and a few videos like your, but it doesn't match any descriptions to my knowledge. The Pegasus gold Secret rares look better, the new ones are awful. But Prismatic Gold Secret is.....have you ever seen The Winged Dragon of Ra Gold Prismatic Secret?...it is glorious.

Hey, I'm one of those collectors. I started playing Yugioh around 2019. I love the game so much I got almost all the starlight out there for my deck and binder. Appo, I:P, Charmers, you name it! Because of the QCR that got released a year ago my collection lost round 20k of value.
Fully agree. OTS Ultis are the best rarity imo. For me it's OTS Ulti -> Platinum Secret -> Secret -> everything else that still has a "clean" rest of the card -> all the stuff that covers the whole card in glitter puke.
Hot take, I think the Max Gold rares look fine, the embossing on the cards looks cool. My favorite rarity is Starlight rare, especially on Synchros. Also, you forgot about Prismatic Ultimate Rares from the Rarity Collection lol
QCRs are pretty sick imo, I actually love the watermark, just gives it that added touch and feel of exclusivity, even if it is more widely available, I’m sure they’ll be worth a ton in a few years
One thing not al lot of people know, the Tiger King tin rarity was the OCG's Extra Secret Rare, which was used for a while before Collectors Rare was introduced
At least thanks to Max Gold Rares we got double sleeving legal in TCG. My personal favorite of all time are DUSA Ultras, then Prismatic (Game Boy mainly but also Tin is nice) Secrets. I really appreciate how the art pops on top of the foiling. I was initially a Ulti/Ghost (the old ones) stan, but maintenance made me hate them since they attract scratches like a magnet and i had to get 6 copies of some cards (a set in the binder, a set in a deck box) About Golds, i liked the Upper Deck ones the most. Finally about current secret, i heard one person describing them as being polished with a sand paper sideways and it's been 8 years i haven't forgot.
I am in a vast minority who likes the look and texture of a Gold UR. I really like when they do things with the border colors, and I also think the gold outlines on the artwork itself is kinda cool.
My favorite is the the starlight rare bc I bought only 4 booster packs and I pull most expensive card called triplets tactic talents! My hands was shaking and I never had pulled something that expansive. Also I love ghost rare too but never pull from any sets so I buy it card itself.
Gotta be og ultra rare for me. Feels like the classiest rarity, and always carries that connection of Lob's stacked ultra rare lineup for me. Not to mention starter deck promos which were many kids first boss monster
I've a big fan of collectors rare ever since I got my hands on some in the rarity collection. Seeing as how alt art ghost ogre is in RA02, I will have to scout out a playset of them in prismatic collectors rare (it's my favourite yugioh card, don't judge me) now that I'm seeing it actually looks like the OCG collectors rare. Ultimate rares are close in appeal as well, since the texturing patterns look quite cool.
1:16 This is incorrect. There were also black colored rare text way back in the day that I believe came from Duel Terminal? Something like that. But yes, different colored rare text is old hat.
Im in the minority but I really liked the max gold ultra rares, that being said I was pretty lucky with them and didnt get any of really bad quality ones which I think soured people. I pulled 3 gold blue eyes in the first max gold each of them looked clean af
You should do a video for NA vs EU print cards! You already have a mix of both so shouldn't be too difficult. The Ultimate rares are completely different for both prints.
Completely agree. NA cards make dark artworks a bit lighter with more detail, while on lighter artworks feel like you left your cards in the sun. The opposite is for EU cards making lighter artworks way more colorful but losing details on dark artworks. If it weren't for the different bending (trouble for tournaments) as well as text font on the effect box making a mix look weird, i would have all my decks mixed depending exclusively on individual card art. About Ultis, I love EU print being more textured, and comparing BraFu, Fusion Destiny and Big Welcome to their NA print, they latter seem to me like regular Ultras. On the other hand OCG Ultis are thicker, with more vibrant colors and they feel like "better cardboard" in my hand (I can't explain it better)
My favorites are dependent on the artwork. For older ones like foolish burial or enemy controller I like secrets the most but for more modern cards I like ultras the most because you can just see the fine details much better
I have a UR Red eyes darkness metal dragon from Duelist saga and I always wondered why it had that prismatic secret rare style lines on the foil and now I know lol thank you
You forgot the rainbow prismatic secret rare. Only 1 card was ever printed in that rarity in the OCG, but instead of the regular silver chromatic name, the name has all the rainbow colors at all angles. The card isn't too expensive either, so if you want something cool and unique to show your friends, it's like 50€ or less I think.
Honestly, the higher rarities only annoy me if a card I want is ONLY available that way. Makes the likelihood of the card costing a pretty penny a lot higher

I genuinely love the normal cards the most. No idea why. I feel all the flashy stuff just wrecks the card arts I like. I couldn’t give a fig about rarity. Sometimes I like the ones with very minimal effects on the background art but the main remains untouched.
As a mid tier rarity enjoyer it’s secret rares 🤝 ultis for me. Starlights and QCRs are just out my budget for shiny cardboard lmao and tbh they don’t look that amazing in the sleeves
My favorite are the Asian Ultimates, and my leasts are the Secrets. I will be honest if I can trade a Secret for a Prismatic or an Ultra I will in a heartbeat since Prismatics show off the monster art more and have less glitter splashed around and Ultras are simply crystal clear. Loss of money? Maybe, but I legitimately do not give a shit.
Call me crazy I actually really like the gold rares. Depending on lighting, the gold bordering within the cars art really shines, and in other lighting the rest of the gold also shines!
I really like the og’ 5d’s era ultimate rares but the og secret rare blue eyes toon or jinzo never get old. New rarity wise I like collector rares. The patterning can look really nice on some cards. Pharaohs rare is lame

OTS Ultimates are the BEST rarity. The beautiful spiral behind my Spright Blue, and the really nice background on the two Ultis I’ve pulled before (Aluber and Chaos angel). The ultis with a big background are the best though, like Spright Blue and Big Welcome Labrynth. Ultis like Chaos Angel are nice, but since the texturing is on the background, Chaos Angel looks a bit more boring than other Ultis.
Nobody is ever going to convince me the Premium Gold Ultra Rare cards aren't cool. The only rarity type I like over it is probably Ghost Rare...but tbh I love the gold....it's gold 🤷♂️😂

Personally all i care about is for multi rarity (IN THE SAME SET) to be back for TCG. Its completely normal in the OCG. The lack of multi rarity is why the entry cost for this game is so high. And why its such a hard sell to invite new people into
QCRs were cool when they first came out with the legendary collection but as soon as the second wave hit and there were 25 of them in every set after, they just flooded the market and have already overstayed their welcome. Also is annoying that if a previous starlight card gets a QCR reprint it tanks the starlight price… I would much rather they bring back just 5 starlight’s in a set. In a perfect world they would bring back Ghost Rares to core sets!!
I think you missed a rarity, Ultra/secret Pharaoh's rare. I only mention it because MAMA boxes got me back into collecting & I got back to back ultra Pharaoh's rares.
I don't like QCRs really because of the stamp and overall kinda meh. However, collectors and vendors being mad about people that want this foiling having much easier access to it is hilarious and all I can say is.. cry about it :) European print ultimate rares are my favorite rarity for boss monsters. Secret rares are my favorite for spells/traps or starters.
I don't play this game, but I'll just say the commons look the best by a very wide margin. Foils just don't look good in general in my opinion. I'd even say they're better than regular rares. Can see the foil stamped name being annoying to read too. I'm sure this game suffers the same fate as many other card games too where foils curl and make the card unplayable.
Ultimate rares most hated?! That is the best looking rarity, easily imo. Also every region Ive been in so far, people coveted ultimates. Ultimate rares are the best rarity that makes the art work pop the most without obscurring it or skewing it with so much glitter. Now I dont like the new ultimate rares in the rarity collection as they have a fake plastic feel but ots ones cant be beat.
Ultimate rare all day baby!!! It’s a toss up for me if I like secret or ultra rare more…it depends on the card. To this day secrets are still slick if it’s from a core set. As for modern cards, I do love the starlights but the quarter century rare watered down their lust factor in my opinion.
See in japan there is nothing wrong with the gold rare the tcgs poor card quality has made them all look bad. honestly the original ultimates look terrible. the QCR and starlight are horrid the Rarity collection to platinums is an example of how you make a good looking higher version of secret
Bring back original European ultra rare , for those who don't know what that means , the ultra rare cards use to be slightly thicker cards , and no so bendable, the card use to feel stronger then ultimate or secret rare cards , they just feel different in hand , it's like holding iPhone in one hand and xiaomi in other , one just feels better stronger firmer ....then other
forgot the biggest rare ever to be printed dreaded Flea Market Rare you could tell if you had one simply by having a clearly fake card with a holo sticker on it with a star burst pattern on it that peels off after a week best used as proxys only obtainable in a random pile of yugioh cards a relative got you as part of a big pile of cards for a few dollars
I bought it and trust me it looks Amazing. Idk how people hating it and never even knew people hated it until this video. The gold trim on the art is amazing on monsters you like. Anytime I see them cheap I always buy them, thank God people don't like them cause it makes it cheaper for me to buy.

Ya, holy does the art look WAY better with her gold Trim. I got Red-Eyes Darkness dragon alt art in gold trim and even Cyber DRagon infinity. I'm super confused when the video said it "raises the border making it hard to protect the card with sleeves". I never had that issue.
I love the Ghost rarity. I remember I went to a pre-release for the first Synchro sets, and a friend of mine at the time let me jump ahead of him in line. I pulled two 1st edition Stardust Dragons (one was Ultra Rare, the other was Ghost Rare) and I remember trading off the Ultra Rare one for a Mirror Force or Solemn Judgment at the time because I needed it for one of my decks. I still have the Ghost rare one double sleeved and in my old card box somewhere.
