Good Morning Young Groms,
We've been on the road and the daily grind of medical school has mostly been a memory of the past. Yet, "Match Day" is fast approaching! I will going through the 2024 Match. It will determine speciality I can practice and where I will live for the next 3 to 4 years. You probably know about all our wild surf explorations and adventures, but today I wanted to provide some context for this part of my medical career. In the video, I try to explain the process of going from med school to residency.

Thanks for explaining this. I was a paramedic for 20 years, and I had no idea what the process was. Also, a huge thank you for going into emergency medicine.

I'm an orderly and chat to the surgeons they tell me it's about 18 years of study here in Australia to become qualified, they earn ten to fifteen thousand dollars a week and are under incredible pressure emotionally and physically, even if I was smart enough I wouldn't do it

Surgery is such a long route, I'm sure that is very rewarding tho! I am hoping for a three year Residency !

Congrats for you video ! I just moved to Iceland 3 months ago and this month it’s the first time I’m going to sea .. do you think 5/4 could be Okei for the wetsuit ? Or better 6/4? Thank you so much ! And happy to see you enjoying !

It depends on your own muscle and body fat amount, but generally if you are near Reykjavik a 5/4 should be good. On the coldest days of the winter or more Northern parts a 6/5 is needed. Always surf with a friend, stay safe and good luck!
