@@supercamborg4218 Dedede's plan was clever, if not a tad convoluted. He came in clutch, no doubt, but it would have all been for nothing if Tabuu got to use another Off Wave
@@rhyano_ Right? Granted I'm not sure things went exactly according to plan considering Bowser caught him off-guard in the castle, but Dedede was clearly prepping for if/when the Subspace Army actually won. A LOT of things had to work out JUST RIGHT for the plan to actually succeed.
@@drewce390 you meant," smash is for good boys and girls." Yeah, that's a cold line. Especially for Mai. Bayonetta got to be in smash, and Mai couldn't even be in the background.
If Smash bros wasn't restricted to one console that is objectively the worst console on the market right now, then I feel like most people that don't own a Switch would be playing Smash bros instead of Multiversus
@@ghostface490 switch is the best console on the market. Amd thhat will only change when the succesor of the switch cames in 2025. And yes , steam deck doesnt count.
Terry is lowkey the reason smash even exists. If sakurai didn't dust that young couple in KOF, he probably never would have thought to make a fighting game that anyone could play.
True, but the part I find funny is, from what I heard, apparently he's more of a fan of Iori, but chose Terry because he's the most iconic Fatal Fury/KOF character besides Mai.
Okay but hear me out on the Sora point. There was a community poll for the next smash character and Sora overwhelmingly won the poll but Smash couldn't get the rights. Him being the last DLC is actually peak consumer gratification
Can’t tell if he was being serious and things that nobody has ever played fatal fury or king of fighters or if he just wanted to tell a really mean joke
what people don't understand about Terry being in the game is that KoF is fucking MASSIVE in South America, literally Street Fighter levels of popular if not more so.
@@gabymogax4283 I can see that and that is fucking shocking to me. They don't know what it's like getting a sudden axe kick from rugal felt like just when you're about to win. Or the overpoweredness of orochi. Such a shame
It was popular in North America back in the day, but there’s a difference between is and was, so now only the FGC and the entirety of Latin America know who he is.
Man. Kids today. Terry is a classic. He was a big part of fighting games and back in the late 90s and early 2000s they were huge much like how shooters are right now. Im 33 and still remember that. Appreciate the new and the old
Hes probably still gettin pst the barrier of entry to melee and thinks its just not fun hopefully he plays long enough to get the ultimate out of his system
@@thatguy8841 Well tbf in the 90s Fatal Fury/King Of Fighters, Street Fighter, Tekken, DOA etc. Were the top dawgs of fighting games at the time. And since smash is a fighting game, why not add one of the most iconic fighting game characters of all time
@@J01789 An interview Sakurai gave, he was playing King of Fighters in an arcade when someone in the other side of the machine challenged him, Sakurai completely destroyed the other dude and he realized it was just some teen with his girlfriend, he felt bad for absolutely dogging the dude in front of his gf that thought "what if there was a fighting game that was easy to access?" And so he created Dragon King and showed it to Nintendo, which then decided to replace the characters with Nintendo mascots and so we got Smash
@@Jigga-jabblaYep, it is kinda crazy because Terry and Cloud are from the same “era” the 90's and starts of the 2000's. And even Terry had a larger target audience than Cloud (despite what Final Fantasy 7 is and was), You know, a 2D fighting game against a Japanese RPG, we already know who has a bigger audience to appeal to.
Easier way to explain it is they created the first platform fighter ever for n64 but they thought it wouldn't sell so they put famous characters in it and eventually it got out of hand
I LOVED BRAWL! The SSE was awesome! They need to make something like that again, it was so dope seeing the characters coming together like the Avengers. The Nintenders!
Honestly, I'm predisposed to dislike this kind of content, but you did a really good job explaining Smash in a short period and with a fair amount of personality. Respect.
@@InanamGames wouldn't work because he said that smash bros was either about nintendo games in general and games outside of nintendo were mostly about icons
Finally, someone who is saying that Brawl isn't the worst one cause me and my siblings grew up with our Wii having 99% of the just dance games, Super Mario Bros Wii, Brawl and Mario Party 7
To be fair Terry obviously wasn't very big since no one seems to know who it is outside of south America(according to comments) I'm 30 and have never once heard of terry and I've been playing games since I was like 5
Beyond the competitive scene. All of the smash bros have been a blast. They miss sometimes according to hardcore players, but outside of that niche, they have managed to never miss
The 3DS version of Smash 4 was so good since it was portable. It was a huge thing for me and a bunch of buddies to get together in the morning before school to play in the library. You could even use your 3DS as a controller on the WiiU version, which was great
Brawl being described as "Subspace Emissary Yay or Nay" is pretty accurate. Also i didn't realize How known terry is outside of America. I remember in 7th grade my homie was like "Terry is in smash" I say "Like Bogard?" And he goes "Yeah I've never heard of him" and no one elae had either
