04:00 "Origin" is a Nasuverse term that refers to a trait that defines one's existence, originating from the Root. It is something that once it awakens, it leads the person's life to follow that path to the point of becoming instinct. Lio Shirazumi from Garden of Sinners, for example, has the Origin of Consumption, which lead him to the path of cannibalism. Kiritsugu's Origin is "Cut and Connect", severing something and then trying to bind it back together with no particular skill, which is for example why he is bad at fixing machines. His Origin Bullets are created with utilizing his Origin as a Mage Killer, first destroying the target's Magic Circuits and then sloppily putting them back together until they are left as a mess. Phantasm Punishment, his knife, is the same idea as a melee weapon.

Something to add about Nero, specifically Nero Bride, in regards to Locusta: During one of their lavish parties, which often ranged from 3 days to 2 weeks, Nero was presented with a small bag of mushrooms. Nero, wary of such gifts, chopped up one of them and fed it to one of his dogs. The dog died in minutes. He gave the bag to one of his servants with instructions to put them into a soup and feed it to his kid brother, Brittanicus, which did kill him, but didn't earn ire or a gross response from the public at all. The servant that presented the mushrooms and prepared this soup? Locusta herself. Nero already admired her fascination with assassination via poisons and had her form a sort of cabal to train up more assassins for employment by the emperor. It was this same party also where it was when Nero spotted a certain boy slave that strongly resembled his late wife (who he kicked to death earlier that year because she dared to ask him a question). Nero then dressed up in a bridal gown, had the slave castrated, and declared marriage to him with the slave named as the wife. During the reception, the emperor declared an impromptu gladiator tournament, not in the colliseum but on the grounds of his royal domus aurea, where he killed at least 5 random impromptu combatants (read: unaware party guests) still wearing the gown. It was also this same party where Nero sent away his mother, Agrippina, on a rigged boat, to her death. She would survive this attempt on her life, being saved by her lone servant on the boat, only for her to be hunted down by Nero's assassins, who carried her back on spears, through public streets, thus earning disdain for his rule for the cruel treatment of his own mother, who was considered to be more loved by the public (even though the family was not liked, it goes to show that even 2000 years ago, people still played favorites, so alas, no love for Brittanicus). Thus, the activities produced by this party alone became the catalyst for the chain of events that caused Nero to be deposed and nearly stripped of authority by the Senate, only to escape imprisonment, via a very public suicide, but still be named as Emperor (despite the tried and failed efforts by the Senate to totally erase Nero from Roman history). I learned this mostly from the channel Tasting History and then some hours down the rabbit hole it sent me. Just look up ancient Roman barbecue sauce. The final fact is that Locusta would be hunted down and killed by Nero's successor, Galba, days after Nero's death. Galba would not enjoy a long rule, only ruling for only a few months before being ambushed by the soldiers of the next man to assume the title of emperor, Vitellius, who himself, would also be the second of 4 men to be killed for that royal title that very same calendar year, 69 AD.

With the little we know of Odin in Fate, I hope that one day we'll have him as an official Servant instead of just having Cu Caster as a proxy.

It's really interesting to see that Cleopatra commited suicide through a snake, since I think there was this Snake of Egypt's end in the myth, and she was of course, the final Pharaoh

I hate how Tezcatlipoca's Bond CE tries to claim that he is not a jaguar god instead being a snake god, even though he very clearly is a jaguar and there's also nothing stopping him from being both a snake god and a jaguar god at the same time. Something I also don't like about his Bond CE is how it tries to undermine the Eagle Warriors by claiming they were not an actual military rank when they very much were.

For Huyan Zhou's bond CE, if the name pilgrimage star sounds familiar, you might have TCG experience. Since her title in Chinese is "Tenyi" (天威) Which is one of the yugioh archetype.

Unrelated sort of, but doesnt tez and quetz's rivalry make you think of the tiger and dragon rivalry found in some asian cultures? Just replace tiger with jaguar and dragon with a feathered serpent
@ollin-tonatiuh6418
@ollin-tonatiuh6418 Год назад
Could you explain the rivarly between the tiger and the dragon found in asian cultures? I'm not an expert in asian cultures. The reason why Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca have such a strong rivarly are because of 2 things: 1. Duality. 2. History. Quetz and Tez are a duality that represents opposite concepts, but at the same time they also complement each other. They are two sides of the same coin that work together to maintain the order and the life of the cosmos, but they also end up fighting each other, a lot. Quetz is the god of life, Tez is the god of death (kind of). Quetz is the god of light, Tez is the god of darkness. Quetz is the day, Tez is the night. Quetz is the daytime Sun (the regular Sun), Tez is the night sun (A.K.A the Moon). Quetz is the god of creation, Tez is the god of destruction (he's also a god of creation, but his destroyer aspect deffinetly plays a bigger role when it comes to his relationship with Quetz). So naturally, Quetz and Tez are bound to be at odds with each other. But there's also another reason for their rivarly, and that is their shared history. See, what Fate doesn't tell you is that Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca are actually brothers (side note: go check the Type-Moon Wiki. It makes *ZERO* acknowledgement of the fact that Quetz and Tez are a family). So their rivarly isn't just a rivarly of two gods that represents opposite concepts, it's also a classic sibling rivarly taken to the absolute extreme.
@nyx2889
@nyx2889 Год назад
@@ollin-tonatiuh6418 im not too well versed myself but i mostly heard of this rivalry from the rivalry between takeda shingen and henshin uesugi, the tiger of kai and the dragon of echigo respectively. both guys were very interested in chinese mythology and there's some myths were the tiger and dragon are bitter rivals always trying to best the other but never gaining the upper hand. like the tezcatlipocas, theyre also a part four beings that represent the cardinal directions, and a couple of other aspects, black tortoise(north), vermillion bird(south), white tiger(west) and azure dragon(east) as an example. there's variations to these too depending on country, but it's interesting to learn about. damn, i had no idea fate did that to my favorite gods tho, lame :/
@ollin-tonatiuh6418
@ollin-tonatiuh6418 Год назад
@@nyx2889 Well in that case I can see why the rivarly of the tiger and the dragon, and the rivarly between Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca seem similar to you. "damn, i had no idea fate did that to my favorite gods tho, lame :/" You talking about the fact they completely left out Quetz and Tez' dynamic as a family?
@nyx2889
@nyx2889 Год назад
@@ollin-tonatiuh6418 Yep!
@ollin-tonatiuh6418
@ollin-tonatiuh6418 Год назад
@@nyx2889 I also don't like that they completely left that part out of their backstory, especially because it makes literally zero sense. Arjuna and Karna being brothers gives their rivarly more drama and it makes it more interesting, there's no reason Quetz and Tez couldn't have a rivarly in Fate that was just as interesting. But I'm not surprised they fucked that up. Afterall, Fate already fucked up Quetzalcoatl's character by making him an airheaded idiot obssessed with being a girly girl who doesn't give the vibe of a god of wisdom. At least they got Tezcatlipoca's character right.
