Here’s how I see Konoha’s military composition- Even though Jonin are probably the most frequently seen in the series they are supposed to be the rare elites that the village entrust as sensei to teams of 3 new Genin and other important positions. It is also rare for Genin to stay Genin for their entire careers, I’d say the majority of them are under the age of 20. So the majority of Konoha’s forces are definitely Chunin level. Here’s the numbers I have- 21% Genin 59% Chunin 20% Jonin Of those Jonin- 7% squad leaders (1/4th of all new squads would be Jonin) 5% ANBU members (Jonin with the right personality for it) 8% new Jonin or Jonin in other roles (Neji, Shizune, Ibiki, etc) Anyone have any thoughts on that?

For all those who think Naruto is both Hokage and Genin, in borate episode 48, when it was written in the subtitles that Naruto is still a genin, it's just a mistranslation. In Japanese, the sentence is in the past tense : since I never past the chuunin exam, I was a Genin the entire time (before becoming Hokage). Anyway, Masashi Kishimoto stated himself in an interview that "Naruto didn't become a jounin, he became Hokage as a Genin". As a matter of fact, Hokage itself is a title. Otherwise, if he is still a Genin, how could he receive mission from someone if he is the one who gives order to every Shinobi of the Leaf.

The decision for Kage is actually different from village to village. In Konoha, the succeeding Hokage is handpicked by the current Hokage. In Suna, the Kazekage seem to be decided by bloodline as if they were royalty. In Suna they literally have a "Kazekage Clan". Now Iwa, Kiri, and Kumo are anyone's guess. In the case of Iwa, the First, Third, and Fourth Tsuchikage were all related but the Second Tsuchikage, who was not related to them, was chosen, suggesting to a combination of selection like in Konoha and a royalty-like system like in Suna. The same goes for Kumo seeing as though the Third and Fourth Raikage (the latter of which was immediately chosen to be the next Raikage following his father's death) were related while the Fifth Raikage, who was not related to them, was chosen by the Fourth. Meanwhile in Kiri, it seems like the Mizukage is elected by the populace similarly to the president seeing as, with the exception of Mei, no Mizukage was alive to choose their successor and none of them share blood ties to one another. Additionally, due to the militaristic history that Kiri has, it is safe to say that the Mizukage is elected solely based on the candidate's strength.

I'm pretty sure Hayatte Geko specialized in kenjutsu. I think there was a single episode on him. I also looked it up and found: Hayate was a very powerful kenjutsu (swordsmanship in the Naruto franchise) user. He easily became tokubetsu jonin, and was even “chosen” to be revived in the Fourth Great Ninja War by Kabuto, where he once again showed off his Dance of the Crescent Moon technique.

Example: Naruto is fighting Madara, a group of non important chunnins and jounins are nearby ( they have kunai in hand) Madara summons his susano, naruto his kyuubi, they WALK towards each other The ninjas go flying and die, meanwhile genin konohamaru is watching by just covering himself with his arms

Here's a vid you could try out. How about explaining the actual world of naruto? Like the full geography (full maps are shown many times in the show), all the lands and key geopgraphical/historical landmarks in them. Theres alot more than just the 5 main nations and you could even try theorising on where the other named lands might fit in the un-named sections of the shown maps, you can figure it out if you try =P

When I first watched the chunin exam and the build up to it. It became harder to believe that Iruka was a chunin. Always wondered, Iruka really passed that? Doesn’t look that tough. But I guess that’s the perspective Boruto had about Naruto in the beginning I guess.
