I live in borneo and we had a lot of minor wildfires last year.. like every single week. It caused a lot of haze. But now i completely forgot about that
@@pruefus4113 I know. Was being smart. It made you sound UN Australian becaude you said wildfires but you made a point of saying Australia multiple times haha
This is becoming more like reminding my future self of the different stages of the pandemic. Just watched part 6 (Jan 2022) and rewatching this really hit differently this time.
Lol yeah comedy is so much better when you overanalyse it and try to add unnecessary layers of logic to make the jokes not work! /s (I laughed at your comment though, I'm not trying to attack you, just people who actually think that's some sort of significant plot hole that ruins this)
@@Oceangirl_505 The butterfly effect is the theory that if you change any small detail in the past it could create massive changes to the future. It borrows its name from the parable of a butterfly flapping its wings, which pushes enough air to build up and theoretically cause a hurricane on the other side of the world.
I wonder who bought stocks in zoom oh, say around the time of the pandemic practice run in October called Event 201? It’s here in RU-vid and look at the players 👀
in my country , a picture of a naked man using an apple computer appeared next to a politician during a zoom conference and almost everyone in my country with an internet connection knew about that incident.
Re-watching this after the 5th part came out, and about a year-and-a-half since everything began is just hilarious (in also a bit of a sad way). Love these though, they are going to be a very visual reminder of how everything was/is
In that sense, is Corona the biggest thing we will remember 2020 for or there gonna be another one? or else we wouldnt exist at all to witness...We all are planning to go to Mars, but god seems to have another plans to get us all to heaven/hell😭😭😂😂
A lot of people in some sections of the media are forgetting that back in December 2019 they were all say no fireworks on New Years Eve and no the lord mayor is say maybe not a good idea this year without a vaccine suddenly its an outrage.
Watching this series over again in January 2022 is just weird! I literally remember seeing this when it was new; that’s almost 2 years ago, and so much, yet also somehow nothing has changed in my life.
Unless you're an Australian affected by them, we didn't really get to forget them it was just one thing after another. Our country was on fire, we almost went to war while our nation burned and then as soon as the fires died down we got a killer virus. It has been horrible.
Yeah, there's been a lot of rain here in Melbourne over the past week. Like, rain for 4 days straight. Still some other states are easing quarrantine restrictions as of today, so it's not all bad now.
@@sigonellapc2 it benefits liberals to make this pandemic last a long time and be REALLY deadly- to blame Trump AFTER all the experts had years to rebuild a stockpile and spent weeks saying this was no biggie. Republicans don't need any help- Trump has been kicking ass and Biden is a complete joke- as was every other candidate -save the still-flawed Gabbard who they blacklisted because she wasn't DeepState enough.
@roscodogg I hope the pandemic lasts a long time. I hope it’s REALLY deadly. I would like to see the deaths for capita in the USA much higher than any other country so that people will be completely aware how much trump is at fault. But after November, none of that applies. Probably they should approve a vaccine at the end of the first week.
Watching this in january 2022 really hits different... We were so naive than and so hopeful, I mean this really hits different when you compare part one and part six of explaining pandemi to my past me... This changed all of us all over the world. This so insane when you think about it and these videos are really one thing which can calm me down, so thank you.
ironically, covid was mostly FANTASTIC for me, as a Street Musician every day and night in New England. zillions of strangers thanked me profusely for being a bright light in a world of grey, and going out every day and playing my artsy musics kept me from hanging myself. that it cheered so many strangers up (plus when I'm looping i can get ppl to start DANCING in public!) was a huge bonus! I think human beings NEED to go thru SERIOUS SHIT like this, so they learn what is really important and what isn't.
I wish I could just go back, and just save my grandpa, although we just couldn’t believe that we’d ever lose him due to something so big as this pandemic. He never went out. At all. I just miss him so much. I was going to meet him. And I never could after this pandemic started. Watching this again just makes me go back to when I never thought I’d lose him to this. And when I thought it’s going to be alright and nothing would happen to my family.
This series is brilliant, honestly. I just watched episode 7 and had to come back here to the beginning to see it again. The kind of profoundly true, lighthearted but biting down-to-the-core type comedy that breaks your heart and makes you laugh simultaneously. Thank you
2020 sounds like a plot written by a 5 year old.. “And then, there was no more school forever!” “Everyone went to buy toilet paper!” “We stayed at home and played video games all day.”

I remember how the Australian bushfires came just about evacuation distance to me and my family, but even by mid 2020 I had forgotten mainly about them
Salem Oregon came with a long walk and a strong gust of wind of burning down, I was three miles from the fire...a week later, totally forgotten I mean, the sky looked like Mars for a week, but it was not the biggest thing to happen that year.
Ive lost hope for "normal" times again, i will probably be an adult when things are normal-ish. I havent seen my friends for more than a year and have done nothing but watch anime. My concept of time is gone, idk if something happened yesterday or 3 years ago. I cant picture my friends faces in my head anymore i forgot that corona existed for a while and just accepted this is my life. And now i think... my life isnt gonna be any better when corona is over
Consider the fact that they started advertising "new normal" pretty soon into this whole thing so don't think that any of this was an accident.....im just sayin
Just keep hanging on I miss my dad he’s stuck in Vietnam in a large debt with a bank. Due to COVID his 4 star hotel can’t run and he can’t pay off the debt that had formed during the construction. Things are getting better though
I don't understand what u r saying, like which country r u living in cz everything in the world to my knowledge is normal right, everyone is working, going in and out, I don't understand what u r r complaining about
@@snoopstheboss994 none of those things you mention or even all COMBINED touch covid (and the fallout from covid). Yes, the Human Condition has always been a horror show.... but covid is THE biggest thing to hit this planet so far. (The world wasn't remotely as populated or developed during the Bubonic Plague!) To AuTortle, the BRIGHT side is....MOST OF THE WORLD SHARES YOUR FEELINGS... (I often don't even know if it's day or night cuz no window in my bedroom!) and overall, covid is a POSITIVE thing, in the long run. ex: 4 million American workers QUIT their jobs in Sept, 4 million QUIT in October, and 4 million QUIT in November!! Guitar companies sold MORE GUITARS than ever before... PRE-COVID....humans just went along as indentured slaves on hamster wheels. BUT NOW, no one wants to go back to MEANINGLESS LIVES and MEANINGLESS JOBS. So many earthlings are thinking "you said I could DIE....and yet I haven't even ever LIVED yet!!!!!" Covid also got rid a mountain of WASTE in our society, cuz shit got real.
A lot of people predicted this. Epidemiologists have been expecting this for decades. There’s a bunch of books written about it. And plenty of historical precedent - pandemics used to be quite common.
@@kisluvkis , and we've all seen the disaster movies. Just imagine how bad it could actually get. Zombies might not be real, but big asteroids are, for example, as well as even worse viruses.
Casual Kalimba LOL I’m just imagining what it would be like for her if her two selves had actually had this conversation 😂 In March, she’d look back on the quote you mentioned and be like, “😳 My future self was totally right!”

I know this was essentially supposed to be humorous, but I think it's really really smart. Everything gets weird rapidly, but it even *sounds* weirder when you have to explain what this life is like out loud.
2022 here, and this hurts even more than before... 😧how?! I wish one day I won't have to come back, years after years, on this video, to laugh/cry with Julie

Ok that was satisfying your comment was on 999 likes and I got the 1K. Wow four likes in two days just for me pointing out the most satisfying thing that’s ever happened to me. I should do this more often. Edit 2: also congrats you’ve gained 2.2k in like three days 🥳
When she said “the wildfires are gonna be the defining moment of 2020” I laughed pretty hard Edit: ok I only just read through replies, yeah it would be a different story if you’re in Australia and you lost your home in the fires, and then suddenly you’re told to self-isolate...in your home. Yikes. Praying for you guys. It’s not much but it’s all I have to offer
I imagine if you’re an Australian who had a family member burn alive or who lost their home, the wildfires still seem like a petty fucking big deal! It’s tricky to self isolate when your house is a pile of ash.
When I first saw this it was such a relief that someone else "got it". Three minutes of catharsis. Now that I'm nearing the end of 2022, I realize these videos are perfect windows into the collective experience. Julie, I hope you made a fortune on this series!! You deserve it.
...I just was laughing at comments like crazy then I read this one and suddenly went 😨 It didn‘t even come to my mind that it could be this old... I mean in terms of... whatever
Honestly same. My friends and I were planning a huge trip to Japan this year. We started planning it in Spring of last year and I got a bunch of travel books and Japanese language learning materials from the library and was studying up on everything......and then Miss Rona decided to shit on our plans 😫
@@aashkavora1438 It's all good! Shit happens and I'm sure in the next year or so we'll be able to go. We were gonna have to change our plans a bit anyways cause my best friend was also gonna go but she had a surprise pregnancy (don't worry her and her bf have been together for a few years and they have stable jobs and everyone is super excited about their baby 😊) and she's going to give birth in a few months so we would have had to change things up anyways 🤷🏻♀️
