it would be nice if the mines did even minimal damage to the heavier enemies. I was so excited to try them on chargers as I thought they would be massively effective against them but nope.
You don't even know how disappointed I am that we have to wait longer for the Anti-tank mines!!? Like I'm sure those would have made mines a 1st use stratagem for many players.. but alas we shall keep waiting, and I'll be making the best anti tank mine hell divers video when it comes 💪.. Thanks for commenting LiamYager! Hope this video helped :)
Maan... I haven;t seen people bring mines to a mission in quite a long time so I was surprised when I turned a corner and ran str8 into an incendiary minefield on a bot mission. I got lit on fire and died with the supersamples in the middle of said minefield. The guy who ran to get them.. also burned to a crisp. Mhm..
@@Brakka86 hahahahahaha, honestly I have to shoot the mines ahead of my team if they are in the vicinity... Definitely kill lots of Helldivers with mines, more so than bots sometimes I'm afraid :(... Anyways twas a funny story, thanks for sharing Brakka86!
It's Arrowhead that decided that Airburst is to stay, but Mines will forever be locked behind an impossible major order. So until they bring more players back, I don't think we will have anti-tank Mines. Even if they decide to do a weapons experimentation, they will likely nerf it before releasing generally. I'm more hopeful now that they are going towards the dark fluid narrative. It just means that we are getting closer to seeing illuminates. Goodbye Anti-Tank Mines, hello dark fluid (and whatever comes next).
@@GooiYingChyi oof, I hope Arrowhead learned from their mistake of 2 major order fails for antitanks and makes the next one more reasonable but maybe you're right, and until the player base blooms again it may remain locked behind closed doors... I am not familiar with the dark fluid information that's out so I'll need to look that up but illuminated are going to be an interesting enemy to fight, can't wait till they are on the battlefield, but I feel like that will really make the galactic war hectic and probably will be hard to defend planets from invasion.. Thanks for the info GooiYingChyi!
Mines would be good if enemy patrols spawned more to our rear than our front. But as you clear a map, the patrols spawn in front of you, because spawn mechanics orient patrols towards the nearest active base... Which are bases which haven't been blown up yet.
Yeah, I agree... Sometimes I'll run through a valley and toss the mines behind me if I think I'm still being chased, just to hear explosiona off in the distance while I'm clearing objectives.. super satisfying! Thanks for the comment themarlboromandalorian!
@@themarlboromandalorian any time! I like talking to the community! If you ever have any questions about anything lmk! I'ma be posting a new video on the Jar shotty soon as well! Hope you have a great day!
I know this is an older video but mines are so underrated. On terminind planets where there is the increased orbital scatter effect I end up ditching horde clearing stratagems like orbital airburst strike gas strike and using both of the mines. I’m level 130 and this tutorial is super useful thanks man.
@@adriancollado9275 wow thanks for the kind words! Yeah I'm super excited for the anti tank mines as those should be an amazing gift to all hell divers, but never the less mines still can be good, glad you liked the video adriancollado9275, I'll try to keep making videos that you can find interesting even at higher levels
@@twiltzofficialgaming all good bro I’m going to keep watching man your videos are dope again thank you for posting. One stratagem I’d love to see you make a video of is the shield generator relay mainly against the bots I wouldn’t want to see you get tortured using this against the terminid😂 but I’ve been trying to figure out how to properly use it well against the automatons. I think I have it a little figured out but it would be cool seeing your perspective and even if you don’t like it I’d love to see a video on it.
@@adriancollado9275 ofcourse! I haven't made a dedicated video on it, but I have mentioned it from time to time on my videos Im glad you brought this up, look out for a shield generator video in the near future! But for a mini tip, it works amazingly with mechs and heavy machine guns.. thanks for requesting a video adriancollado9275, I shall definitely surpass your expectations!
@@adriancollado9275 I finally finished the shield relay video I will be posting it tomorrow, I ended up spending more time on it as I actually had a lot of fun testing it on Terminids strangely enough, but I also added some tips for automatons though I feel like most you may already know.. keep your eye out for it as I should be making it public tomorrow around noon EST.
I have always found mines as a support tool more than as an offensive weapon. They are there to slow down the enemy and pick off the weaker bugs/bots so i can focus on the bigger ones. They are also uaeful on choke points and flanks so i know when theybare coming when i see the kill numbers start to shoot up dramatically.
Glad to hear it, definitely a useful stratagem just takes patience and some strategy to use correctly, glad to hear the mines are more used than I originally thought!
I mean mortars kill a ton of divers too, but yeah I understand.. I usually had to shoot and ping multiple times my mines when in multiplayer so my teammates didn't just decintigrate... Still it's fun to listen to the explosions pop off from the mines right izumocore?!
@@twiltzofficialgamingsometimes it just doesn't matter, pinged some mines in a chokepoint away from extract and had a guy run straight into them, reinforced him and he just did it again
Hahaha 🤣 you know, I had a similar experience when I was testing the mines to make the video, I was like "please superearth protect me as these mines get deployed"... Anyways, thanks for commenting Scottcheg9, always happy to hear from fellow Divers and mine ethusists!
I've used mines to kill bile titans. Just requires deploying mines in a ravine choke point and then you shoot one on the ravine wall to set off a double layered minefield network to scorched earth everything in the neighborhood. I consider it on every big mission as a possibility of necessity. I've used offensive minefields to great effect on both fronts
:0 honestly sounds very difficult to pull off but glad to hear it is possible! I'll give it a chance sometime when I get a chance, thanks for sharing stephenpuisis632!
Haha yes! Glad to see it, they actually are pretty useful, just kind of hard to position correctly sometimes.. Other than a shorter cool down or additional mines being added, they definitely are pretty fun to use right yaypeace3792?!
@@twiltzofficialgaming i just throw them in front of the gates and the bugs just walk straight. The other strategems include recoiless rifle for bile titans and chargers and napalm strike for more bug holes. Then the 4th slot is free to run anything else
Hmmm would be an interesting concept.. like how sometimes napalms and other stratagems are available on certain mission types? It definitely would get more attention to mines rzr0015, it's an interesting idea for sure!
Anti tank mines would have been a really useful arsenal to killing both smalls and big things that personnel and incendiary couldn't normally kill. [And just literally eats the whole chunk without killing anything.
I agree, but I understand it was hard to do because of the work week, and because of all that happened recently surrounding the game :(( but we were so close!!!! ~80%%%% We will keep fighting for democracy EdwinCaldwellBills, those antitank mines will be ours next time!
@@cookiewithlove2081 I couldn't agree more with you cookiewithlove2081.. it would have been so satisfying too! Like hearing the mines exploding all around you clearing out the small mobs is satisfying and looks great, imagine that with Hulks and possibly the Factory strider!!?! Oooo I'm excited to try it!
I completely agree, I bet if it had more days on the weekend to finish it would have been completed, (or an extra day) but ~80% isn't bad... Less bots spawn per level after all compared to Terminids... Thanks for taking the time to write your comment down alexalton962! Hope you got some good info out of the vid!
Does the gas strike set off the mines? That and incendiary mines sounds pretty effective. I'm surprised fire isn't as effective against bots. Heat is the #1 enemy to electronics and the big bots all have heat sinks/vents on their backs.
Yeah it would make sense if that were the case, but seemingly the metal they're made out of Is heat resistant... Gas strike shouldn't set off the mines, though the initial explosion might, I haven't tested it but I would assume no based on the interaction mines have with fire.. really good question!
Huge mistake choosing the airbust rocket launcher. It's useless against bots but it can clear out good on bugs... But you know what else can clear out bugs without spending a stratagem? Incendiary braker lmao
Haha exactly, or you know what can clear out a lot of bugs without needing to reload, AND twice the area of effect korke? The cluster bomb lmao 🤣.. was torn when I first found out we get a new stratagem and that the airburst was basically made for killing teammates and yourself lol
The ONLY counter to that idea is that the mines will always be there. As long as you know enemies will be there at SOME point of time in the mission, the mines will get them (or, in reality, get the majority of small and medium units that are not striders). Basically, I think of it like a less intensive eagle airburst if the eagle camped above the stratagem beacon until something came across it. Now, in 90% of scenarios, you need something to be dead now as it runs at you instead of something being dead 3 minutes later when it happens to stroll through the minefield later on, but in the last 10% (think about areas you can't see on small maps like a central chokepoint on the other side of the map on an extermination missions) the tradeoff can be either worth it outright or at least close enough to make it viable if not super-efficient.
@@aduckwithgrapes9572 Very well said, yes and you CAN run through the minefield yourself without getting hit, though it does take concentration.. but well said aduckwithgrapes9572 and great name lol
Of course the anti personnel mines are not going to blow the legs off the walking tanks known as Hulks, thats what the AT mines are supposed to be used for. AT mines supposed to be used for chargers, hulks, tanks, possibly also the Titan and Strider
I mean yes, but you can't deny it would make sense if the hulks walk on legit a field of them that they should take atleast some good damage.. but sigh I want to try anti tank mines asap, thanks for the comment tho seawolf8482, hope we both get to try out the new mines soon :)
@@twiltzofficialgaming it's beginning to feel like getting the AT mines is cursed 😂. We failed every major order with it so far let's hope 3rd time's the charm.
Mines, more like LMAO. Mines take up a strategem slot, do zero damage to enemies, grief your team, deny YOU areas (enemies never go back there, and you need to go into the mined area when enemies are dead), have infinite grief potential, and are destroyed by airstrikes gunfire and other strategems. I literally kick anyone in my team who drops in with mines above Hard difficulty. Anything mines can do, literally any other strategem can do better.
Lmao 🤣 I mean I don't know if I would go that far matthewdeklerk3457, I think you are right in the gist of it. Mainly mines are not as strong as other stratagems and in a way using them can grief your teammates, but that's not to say they are completely useless.. as stated in the video there are many different situations where they can be used effectively against a variety of enemies and you can walk through the entire field without stepping on them.. however from a meta standpoint yeah they would be a pretty underwhelming stratagem to use, but I think that in and of itself is a great challenge.. Finding a way to use a "useless" stratagem may give you some insight into where they could be viable as well as mastering a new play style.. The best part of Helldivers 2 is that you have plenty of choices of stratagems to make a build that unique, if mines aren't for you that's fine, but I would give it a fair chance if you have enough time and patience to try and master this skill of "mining"! Thanks for letting me know your standpoint though I hope my comment helps!
@@twiltzofficialgaming I like your positive attitude. I just wish mines were good enough to deserve it :) I had a game yesterday where someone dropped in with mines. I watched a bile titan walk over it untouched and just thought "man, you could have packed EATs or even Orbital Rail Strike instead of this..."
@@matthewdeklerk3457 Yeah.. mines are on a weird place right now, but I bet the anti tank mines would have slaughtered that BT! I feel like the mines would benefit from more of a utility buff.. like imagine they could slow (electric field), poison, or even stun enemies, that would make them viable even if they didn't have much damage.. anyways I do understand where you coming from, and thanks for your kind words, I am striving to build a positive community surrounding Helldivers 2 so only right that I start the movement lol! Thanks for interacting with the video and me! Edit: with the new patch notes 1.004 among a bunch of other stratagems mines just got damage buffed :0
its because the mines for the bot front would have been a better deal since mines cant scratch bile titans butterknife legs.. if it were to damage it.. that betch should be immobile to go as fast it could.. coz... players know its not fun its useless... and ask yourselves why most of the strats are on the bot front.. buggy people went to bot front for the mech suits and airburst rocket launcher.. they'll come back again for the mechs... and vehicles.. how about whatever hardware comes from the bots front stays there... pay 500 premium credits to ship your modules to the bug front. bye
Lmao 🤣, It would be nice to have the anti tank mines blow up Bile Titans but at least they should obliterate Chargers, cause boy, the amount of times they sneak up behind me and throw me into a crowd of bugs..... But yes, I agree many bug lovers stay on the bug side even when major orders are automaton focused, but even without those divers we were so close!!!! 1 more day or a hard grind if it was on the weekend, and I am positive we would have had it :(. Don't worry it won't escape us for a 3rd time Will13drumheaded, those anti tank mines are going to be a force to be reckoned with, maybe even SuperEarths finest stratagem...
