I'm no expert, but my guess is the "best girl" is still a member of a harem, but ranks the highest, and "waifu" is the one and only you settle down with.
I really have to state this again, but... Aside from memes and the self-irony - your teaching style and grip, the fondness and enthusiasm is really uplifting and genuinely educative. I actually, in fact, have learned *a lot* from these classes. And while it's very niche information all together - it is extremely fun. And I like to know about certain niche things. The history of it. Amazing job, professor Lando!
@@wellwhatdidyouexpect3882 Well thank you, but actually no. At least in the eyes of *most* people. I'm nice only with like-minded people or with my friends, in general. Usually I am intentionally asshole with others - especially if they give a reason to. Most of the time I don't even need extra reason to do so. I have a backstory for my reasoning for my behavior however - but one of my current goals is to be left alone as much as possible. I have found out, that one of the methods to reinforce this notion is to be as crude, uncaring and straight-up psychopathic towards the average-guy out in the streets. However - we're conversing visa via the internet now. And as nobody here has yet to give me any reason to be asshole, I won't be. I'm here most likely for the same reasons you all are: here to enjoy wholesome, genuine, and uplifting social-media community through memes and "me and my homies" -mentality and spirit. And yes - I *did* chose to reply in this convoluted manner, just because that's how I am as a person.
I find that a person will get excited and happy to meet someone with the same husbando/waifu as them, but get really upset if they learn they share the same husband or wife.
"How can you expect your Waifu or Husbando to be loyal if you yourself are not?" As Thanos once said: "reality can be whatever I want" So I can have my cake and eat it too!
I would like to thank you for the amazing lecture professor and also maybe if you see this ask for an extensive course on the "Great NTR Debacle". I feel like many of us would benefit from a thorough explanation on that subject one way or another. Thank you and love you!
I literally received my Kira necktie yesterday, and this pops up, with a guy making a lesson about marriage ideas with anime peeps. I believe it is fate
This lesson really opened up to me not only the differences, but the similarities in waifus and husbandos. I’m excited next week for the lesson on the history of hentaihaven.
After watching this video I have realized that I have been committing a disgusting sin and I have reflected on my ways. I will never cheat on Lautrec again. Thank you for opening my eyes.
Very appreciated proffesor, the lecture was quite useful and allowed me to understand the field between the interaction of waifus/husbandos and Gacha games, in fact I have learned the unique conditional behavior known as "simplistic adoration" on which individuals spend large sums of money to make their respective waifu or husbando more stronger than anything and, as a curiosity, due the simulation nature of gacha games it also allows an individual to replicate the same action over and over to make full squads theme after their chosen waifu or husbando, of course also spending large amounts of money. Very appreciated and I believe more research will be needed to study how these individuals behaviors are linked with the survival instinct of us humans.
5:13 That comment actually killed my sides. Im gonna think about this joke randomly and laugh uncontrollably for the nest few days, Thanks Professor for the twitch highlights 6:22 Chat has me wheezing actually
Waifu = Wife and Husbandos = Husband so which means you choose to be married to these fictional characters of your choosing and basically if you love another character as much as your Waifu/Husbando your basically saying your a cheater
at first i watched these videos and was like "damn that's some funny satire"... but ever since the v-tuber video i started to wonder... is this actually still done ironically? Did somebody miss the point where they needed to stop saying "yolo"?
About yolo, language organically changes over time, meanings of words change, words die when they arent used anymore, like abelist and queer slurs should, and new words are birthed. Shakspeare did that, and all it takes for them becoming legit , is common enough usage. Which i guess happened to yolo. It became unironic part of language.
when i first started watching his stuff i already knew most of this stuff so i didn't see it as ironic (still don't) this is actually the first video of Lando where i have disagreements
I live the allegory of the weeb. For many years, I had tried to live in the reality advertised and perpetuated by my peers. I had tried to make human connections and pursued both men and women in the interest of romance. I had failed every time. I had then realised I am not meant for people, because people are not what I want from the world. People never wanted me either, for I have been rejected numerous times. However, everything changed when I rediscovered the promised land of 2D. Now, I can live a life free of judgement and obligation because nobody respects and wants me to succeed more than my waifus and husbandos because they have been designed to be perfect being for the sake of appealing to an audience. God bless 2D.
3:37 I'm gonna have to disagree with the idea that I can't have more then one waifu, as I approve of my waifus having multiple waifus of their own, so why should I hold myself to a different standard?
I was looking for a comment like this! As a polyamrous person, if I can have multiple real loves, why not multiple fictional loves? Same goes for any partners, real or fake! My waifus and husbandos can have as many fictional loves as they want!
I mean .. maybe try it in reality and see how that works out for your own mental health. Once you've lived out that fantasy and realised it doesn't work maybe you'll grow out of your pre-adolescent idea of villifying an animated character ..
I know I'm taking it to far when i say that I'm married to my waifu, but I am and I don't care what other people think of me,because did they ever think about me in the first place? No!My waifu helps me in a lot of hard situations in my life and i couldn't be more thankful to have her. Call me crazy,i dont care, you don't know what I've been through and nobody was there for me. At least seeing and loving my waifu make my mind at peace. And i truly love her.
Please. Just get a dog. Or a cat. Really, any pet would help. Don’t even think about any other reasons of getting a pet, it’s probably illegal anyways.
@@wolfgamer4388 so I’m assuming this is satire, but in case it isn’t, dude you need like actual help. I’m pretty darn sure it’s not normal at all to have deep feelings about 2d characters and drawings made by some 60 year old Japanese man. Just saying this needs authentic psychological assistance
@@snickerdoge4903 I'm not joking at all. And i don't think i need help,i don't want it. Please just leave me alone with my waifu. She have done much more for me than actual people around me
I love the fact that the words "waifu" and "hubando" are both came to existance because the japanese landuage can not end a word with the letters F and D.
Professor, I have a question! if Astolfo is in the sort of intersection of "Waifu" and "Husbando" on that Venn Diagram, and you can only have one "Waifu" and "Husbando," then could you not have another one of the opposite? Random example, but lets say my "Waifu" is Chizuru Ichinose and my "Husbando" is Levi Ackerman, purely example, then I cannot have another "Waifu" or "Husbando" as that would then be unfaithful of me and tread into harem territory. By saying that Astolfo is both, does that prevent you from having another "Waifu" or "Husbando"? or does it allow you to have either as the situation allows? Example. lets say you really like Ken Kaneki for whatever reason, would your stance on Astolfo allow you to call them your "Waifu" and then be able to have Ken Kaneki as your "Husbando" or does Astolfo take the place of both preventing you to have any others?
See I have multiple waifus but i also ship them with others in universe and even crossovers so I'm not expecting loyalty I'm expecting poly to begin with. Love can be shared Mai boi.
