The master! I am trying to fix an ebl 220-4. A friend of mine works with campers and they have loads of these go wrong. So far i found a short across several thin caps on the low voltage board and on it's daughter board. Could be quite difficult to pinpoint as nothing obvs. I am looking for a schematic and thinking to inject low voltage in this zone with current limited. will look for any warm spots. Unless i can track this short down any other way. Either way not much fun from here on in without a circuit diagram. If anyone can point me in the right direction.... thanks for the info so far. great video. Update. Not sure if those lines were shorted, thinking it's something to do with there being several + rails and some caps for filtering parasites? Either way i just powered it up from 230V power arrives to the dc board but neither of the two large relays are switching the + rail across to the fuse and outputs section. I have no battery connected yet so perhaps it's part of the startup requirement.? I'm not sure what the fault is exactly but after i get some batteries hooked up i'll report back if i fix it.
Hi Steve yes I did but sometimes you can change the ebl to gell batteries when f itting lithium I did use the gell settings but I was not 100% happy doing it myself there was always that ningle are the charging with out damage with solar and b2b there's no need to change from the ebl
I am fitting a lithium battery can you tell me how disable the ELB 31 , thinking either to send it off to get it modified to accept lithium, there is a place in Somerset that does it. Or disable the ELB and fit a victron charger that I can remove when not required. Thanks Phil
you can set the ebl to gel battery and it should be ok but I've contacted the same company and ordred the lithum up grade my ebl is the ebl 220-2 model so not up on yours
Hi mate can I just put in lithium’s and change it to gel on the ebl 220-2 or would it damage the alternator, I will be adding solar separately to the ebl with a charge controller, Thanks Keith
