This church deserves to be restored because those windows are stunning. It is hard to believe something so vivid is 14th century. Also, what if stunning paintings are under all that plaster? I hope some day it is lovingly restored. How sad to see it in such a state, but at least it has been preserved to this day. Thanks for the tour.

The tracery of some of the windows is fourteenth century but the east window is fifteenth century, with Victorian stained glass, given by William Adcock who financed the major restoration of the church in 1846. The plaques in the floor towards the chancel commemorate John Johnson, former rector, died 1625.

Thank you for filming and showing off this beautiful medieval stone church. One day, archaeologists and historians are going to remove the plaster and restore the wall paintings, and they may even open up the floor to discover burials underneath. You filmed a (bronze plate? nailed to the stone floor? that most probably is an English (or Norman?) family coat of arms). Fascinating wooden ceiling timbers also. There is much to uncover and discover here!

On the wall painting...in my own small Suffolk church, the Victorians decided to do exactly what you suggest and took off the lime plaster to reveal a St. Christopher opposite the south entrance. Then it decayed over time and is now essentially just a stain in the wall. As a warden (and iconoclast) I asked the Diocese (in some jest) whether I could reapply the lime wash to 'restore' the wall to its Reformation glory. The reaction was as you would wish ! So the stain persists (and yes, it is beyond help).

@@TT-zd6nr First, thank you for being a warden, you guys do amazing work in keeping our churches in great shape and also open for people like myself to make these videos. it's a shame that the wall painting has not been taken care of.

No matter how small a church is, if it's the meeting place of a parish..it's a church. The size of a buidling doesn't determine it's status...A chapel is also a place of worship but is not a parish.

No way is that east window 14th century. Victorian at best. Also I dont consider that a small church. Come to Lincolnshire to see small churches!

I have every intention to film in Lincolnshire, in fact I've only just come back but didn't have the time to film any.
