Alex, I was just there a couple of months ago. My son lives in Little Flock. It’s just a couple miles from the Antique Flea market. I love going through it. I’m such a fan of you and Melissa. So weird that you were in my part of the world. I’m so happy you were able to visit your niece and see the Arkansas beautiful hills. Enjoy
5:40 Alex I'm 76 and I still remember when I was 12 and my brother's bride was in my home. That night I had a nightmare wherein, she was sitting on mother's bed and there was this porcelain doll that looked exactly like that. That image scared me half to death and I woke up screaming!
That candle stick phone was like the one in Andy Griffith show in the sheriff station. The old wooden wall phone was in It’s a Wonderful Life when Mary was talking to Sam Wainwright
There is a Homestead Mall here where I live and I love going there and seeing it all. Spend hours just walking around and looking at all the good stuff. Thanks for sharing and have a great day
I love watching your videos. Sometimes you find things that I remember was in my miemas house when I was a kid. I love going to antique stores. We have 3 really good ones here in Tulsa . And one in jenks .I love going too. You mentioned when you had your store ...I'm guessing you don't anymore.
You have a better eye than I, and I'm sure the camera is not picking up all the detail, but I thought the china head doll was a repro. I really thought it a 1970s repro before you looked at the price.
Really looked repro. Almost impossible to tell on video, but the $18.00 price was so low, it seemed like there was a box full of copies to replace it. 😂😢
@@mackeymintle66 Agreed. One thing about price. People don't always know how much something is worth, and the pricing reflects that. But in this case, I do think it says repro.
@@historybuff7491 agreed. If you have a rented space at an antique mall, you have probably heard that dolls are collectible. 😜🤘🏼 I don’t mean to hate on the seller, because it almost feels like they’re charging an excited new collector, or a gift buyer who may not know any better… the price is still reasonable at $18 Just as a decoration piece. The tag may even said “new” or something that may lead the reader to understand that it’s not a secret treasure… I have way too many opinions about buying and selling… decades of searching and picking.., I guess thats why I started watching this channel at the Potters house era.👌❤️😎👍
When I had booths at Antiques Malls they usually had a sale every February or March and each vendor posted their own discounts. I always checked the bigger discount booths first and quiet often found some really good deals.
I liked the old maroon Missouri license plate there. They changed to white with blue lettering about ten years ago or so. When I was young, you got new plates and number every year, so the year was embossed on it. That had the renewal stickers, so somewhat later.
I buy Burl Ives. Decades ago he was my introduction to folk music and have recently upgraded by LP collection to CD's (yes, I know many would consider that a downgrade! LOL)
Hey man, one of my buddies has a booth in there wild to see it on youtube. I have a case and a booth in tontitown arkansas probably 20 minutes from there over at country classic antiques. You should check it out! The owners are great people.
i miss the op shops i live out bush now so no close shops, but when i lived in sydney op shops made me money every day,so i enjoy going shopping with you m8 thankyou.
Hi Alex, I've been subscribed for a while now and I really enjoy your videos. I know you tape ahead, but if you are still in or near Bentonville, Arkansas, I'm up in Joplin Missouri. I'd be happy to direct you to a few REALLY big antique stores we have up this way, as well as the Bonnie and Clyde hideout house here in Joplin. Also, I understand if you don't want to meet up with some random subscriber lol. Let me know if I can help, and take good care!
So funny to see you walk through that mall, I have been there many times, the last time was about four weeks ago. It's okay, some genuine antiques, some nice collectibles. Overall, meh. Just my opinion. I've been doing antiques for 25 years, so not much impresses me anymore. I would recommend Brass Armadillo in KC MO as well as Metcalf Antiques in Overland Park KS.
It's great if you don't mind paying those prices. But you are shopping in the high-end antique malls. I live in Arkansas and there are far lower-priced malls for the same items around here.
I'm not really a glass collector, but I paused the video at that same spot to zoom in because I thought I caught sight of some Candlewick. Pretty sure I did spot piece in the back. That's the only glassware I do collect. Whenever my husband and I go on a trip where there are antique/thrift shops, I'm always on the lookout for Candlewick. Sometimes I come home with a piece or two, which serves as my souvenir. But I don't like to pay too much.
Alex, if that was a million dollar painting, you would go straight to the owner and tell them that they had it priced too low. I’ve seen you do that before, I think with a Picasso. Lol. You’re a good guy. ✌🏻🤍🤞🏽
While watching your video, I was surprised how you didn’t understand that the individual who had items in the 50% shelves was just for that dealers items. Also the Victorian style doll for under $20 was a reproduction. Sorry, I’m amazed that since you once had a store; you lack an understanding on pricing. I found myself frustrated watching you walk around and describe items. Sorry. I’m an antiques collector and seller and have been for some 40 years and even I don’t know everything. We learn every day and never become an expert in all things We live in Northwest Arkansas and frequent all the stores you visited while there. Homestead is a nice antiques store. We have bought many items there and the owners are great people. None the less, at least you took the time to be a RU-vidr and upload interesting videos. Something I haven’t invested the time in. So, that’s good on you 😊
