Medicine Hat is my town (I know Jack and Guesthouse 71 is a client of mine)! You did forget to see Medalta in the historic clay district. And hooefully you can come back someday and experience a show at the historic Monarch Theatre as we are re-opening it again. 112 years young. Movies, and live events.

Great video. Who would’ve known that medicine hat would be so fun to visit. I love the idea of the sunshine trolly and that park with a little lake looks wonderful. Thanks for showing us around Linda.

I live here. Some other things to check out. (You had tons of great ideas too of course.) 1. Medalta Potteries. Absolutely awesome, on par with many UNESCO sites we've seen in our global travels. 2. Historic clay district 3. Leisure Center (Big Marble Go) is great, especially for families. 4. Float or kayak down the river. Rentals available, all kinds of itineraries from leisurely afternoon floats to multi day canoeing or kayaking. 5. In the winter, WHL game. 6. Our Jazzfest offers some FANTASTIC NYC vibe venues, mere feet from world class artists in intimate venues. 7. Stampede. Go all redneck for a few days. Lol. 8. Elkwater and Cypress Hills. About the same distance as Red Rock. Great for hiking or mountain biking, swimming, camping, and some of the best easily accessible star gazing opportunities in opportunities available. 9. Local walking/biking paths connecting parks. 10. Tons of quirky small businesses downtown and on N Railway. 11. Fantastic mountain biking for all levels. (Not sure if anyone rents bikes yet.) Between town and Redcliffe, or Echo Dale on the other side, it's like mini Moab, offering numerous descent options. In Elkwater it is more like the mountains, just with only a 350m climb. Tons of new trails in progress. 12. Fort Walsh in Cypress, as a historical fort. 13. There is a First Nations festival here with good family friendly education and fun. 14. Tons of hunting in season with a number of local guides, if you do that. (I sustenance hunt to fill my freezer with AAA organic carbon neutral free range local lean high protein meat...) 15. You can do a sight seeing day hitting up the quirky museum's in small towns. For example Etzikom has a windmill Museum. Seven Persons has a small museum in an elevator turned amazing local butcher. Bow Island has a few I believe. You could combine it with a day trip to Writing on Stone for example, leaving early and hitting half a dozen on the way. Most are like 30m or less, usually donation. Honestly as a resident it is a fantastic affordable place to raise a family, with plenty to do for tourists as one of the most underrated places to spend some time exploring. Sure it doesn't have the night life or entertainment of a big city all the time, but the fact it ISN'T a big smelly crime ridden busy city is kinda the whole point.
Lived here the past 24 years now and it’s a nice little city love all the old buildings and being the sunniest place in Canada I love the longer hours of light
