I really appreciate how you make the process of learning the game so simple. Watching these makes putting new games on the table a lot faster. Thanks!!
The new studio looks brillant! I'm not sure about the new music, but i think maybe it's just beacause it's new, i'm sure you had your reasons to change it. Keep up with the good work! Cheers from Italy.
I really enjoy the new intro music! i liked the old one too, but this one really gives the feeling of a bunch of people coming together to hang out over some games!
Wow! This is off topic but I remember watching your channel when you guys were at 10k subscribers! You guys are doing great work. Keep up the great videos !
love the new studio. keep up the great work Also worth mentioning for anyone digging this - Shem is planning a kickstarter for an expansion to expand to 5 players
Visual aids on point :) Super clear! Also, love the new music! Yes, it sounds a little more RU-vid standard, but it's less in-your-face than the other one and has so much more to do with the channel's style :) Props to Chaz!
1. I have to like the game (I don't review on the channel, but the videos take too long to make, for me to feature one I don't like - and I answer all the comments on them, so it would be pretty hard to do that for years for a game I didn't care for :) ) 2. It has to be a good fit. Some games might be great, but I might not think they'd go well with my schedule, or present well on video. 3. The publisher expresses an interest in partnering with me to create the video. I work closely with the publisher to ensure we don't make any mistakes. #1 is the most important - if I don't have that, the other 2 factors don't matter.
The scoring isn't based on how many of each type. It's the size of the groups after you've made groups that only contain one of each type of animal. Also, he only had 3 pigs, not 4 and 2 chickens, not 3 if you're talking about 12:40
Just played this for the first time and hoping you could clarify; do you have to complete an island before you can build an outpost on it? Thanks so much for your help!
Great game to get added to your How to Play videos. So you now have 2 of the 3 games in this series covered. Now we just need you to cover Shipwrights of the North Sea to complete the trilogy. Then as an added bonus you can do The North Sea Rune saga that ties these 3 games together into one epic game. Please, please, please. :)
Once you've familiar with the game, how long does one player's turn take, start to finish? Four actions seems like a lot, and I can imagine some analysis paralysis trying to figure out an optimal combination of moves.
I really hesitate to answer this sort of question. I find all players are so radically different. take 2 people who know the game really well and you'll have one time length, take two different players who know the game just as well, and it can be a totally different time length. Play styles are so particular to each person.
Can you do the third game of the trilogy, Shipwrights of the North Sea. There is couple how to play videos, but they are not really that good and simple to understand.
Since you play so many games with Luke and I have a kid that I play a lot with. I was wondering if Legacy games would flow well. I know you don't indicate games but I'm just wondering if it's time to introduce my 10 year old to the style?
I truly think that's entirely dependent on the specific game and specific kid. It could go great, it good flop. My guess is you'd like to introduce one to her, but you're not sure if she's ready... only one way to find out :)
Actually this question came in my mind, while you are explaning about the movement of the longship between the time slot, 5:05 to 5:30.Whether the longship can move to any adjacent connecting sea space , when it is at sea space of the main board at the harbour or art work of the main board or while doing the move action from any adjacent connecting sea space , it can move through the sea space located on the main board by the side of the mainland.
@@abhishekmondal3275 I think I see what you're asking, but this thread might help as it has a picture. Does this address what you're referring to? If so, that thread provides the answer: boardgamegeek.com/thread/2265237/moving-mainland-tile-adjacent-starting-board
Thanks for the support. I don't let the downvotes bother me. Not everyone will like everything we do all the time. I'm okay with that :) But I appreciate that you liked it!
From the 12:49 mark up to the 13:09 mark...You show livestock scoring. According to my understanding of the scoring...You should have scored 11 points...but you say its 14 points. Please explain this to me because I am confused as to how you got that?!
You score sets of different animals, not sets with the same animal. First set containing pig, chicken, cow and sheep results 10 points, second set with pig and chicken results three points, and the last set with pig results one point. In total it is 14 points.
IT's not that the 1 sheep gives 10 points, but that entire column gives me 10 points (you count how many unique animals you can organize into groups with no duplicates and use the score chart to see their value). Not sure if that helps or not.
