The best part of this fantastic house is the shell shaped bath tub and the steps that rose up from the floor and went into the ceiling so elegantly. This house must have been built by an architect that had a dream and built his dream house!! Thanks for the video and I like your style of detailing everything and not saying a word with the sound of your footsteps making it hauntingly real!!
+Robert Sbrana given that there are a few other vids if this place , I thought that would be one of the things that makes mine unique . Glad you liked )
Very good putting the pictures in. It gives a good historical context to what is was and what it is. Also shows what happens when idiot flippers "maximize" their profits with a grow op. It sure looks like that is what happened here.
such a shame that its wasting away. its not so far gone that couldn't still be saved. id love to have this place and clean it up. so nice. I've seen the other explorers here but ur still my favorite explorer. You get in there and really show us everything and u dont talk and be annoying in the midst of doing it. thanks for the share. nice explore!
Vonnie K The majority of grow op houses have extensive mold issues, electrical issues and several other problems, I do home repair for a contractor and I've been in a few grow houses and by time we've cleaned them up and made them livable again it would have been cheaper to knock it down and build new, although that's the worst case scenario I have also seen many just bulldozed without even giving the chance of a clean up.
I have seen thus mansion a few other times by other explorers, but you did the best job. you went slow and showed every room, even closets, none of the other videos I saw did. and also thanks for including the before pics, I really wanted to see it before it sat and decayed. Great job, keep up the great work, love all ur videos! !
DaaDeeOh's Urban Exploration I don't mind the non-talking video. The thing that gets me is the sound of the camera. I have that thing where sounds, even the miniscule sounds irritate my ears. So it doesn't bother me so much as hurts my ears. I hate muting videos but I have to mute yours. 🙁
What blows my mind is -- WHY ISN'T there some sort of a JOB called living and and taking care of these properties? I, like you felt somebody loved this home. That's what makes an abandonment so sad. But even as you've seen, within WEEKS vandals show up and destroy the place. For WHAT? THAT ticks me off big time. NO EXCUSE FOR IT - just because they CAN. And as natural motion flows, the next things come FIRES. People always hurt abandoned places. I really wish they wouldn't do it. Homes are like people, they need people, and need to be loved. They need someone there to protect them from people like hooligans who mess these places up. Maybe one day if these people ever go homeless - they will learn the value of HOME. Lovely place. Should the job come up to take care of it and put it back together- get a hold of me- I'll take the job!
What a great explore. I had seen it before, but your way of showing it is still the best! You knew something was not right with all the police tape outside, and inside all the tubs and soil and chemicals. But what a grand house, those curves that marble... everything screamed opulence. Well done!!
I don't understand why they would demolish it. There was nothing seriously wrong with it. Vandalism wasn't to bad. No real serious damage at all. It's all about the money. The banks especially .. If they don't make any money off of it .. No one is going to benefit.
I just can't watch videos recorded with what I'm guessing is panoramic? The round walls and doors makes me sea sick. I do love your videos but I just can't watch this. Is it just me? What's wrong with my eyes?
I wasn't over the moon with the super wide setting on the camera either, I have changed that setting to regular wide since this vid. Its a unique view, but not liked by all for sure.
DaaDeeOh's I have watched other's film this house & you captured something that they didn't. Not only were you thorough, you brought Love to this house which ultimately made it a HOME. Thank You for sharing your craft. I & "WE" as viewers appreciate your diligence. From My 💜 to Yours!
Gina Lola Getting the feeling of being sea sick has to do with the interaction of three basic body systems: your sight, your inner ear, and the position of your body. Since you are likely stationary while viewing a video, your body is standing or sitting still while your eyes are telling the brain you're moving. All three systems are communicating with your brain so your brain can control everything - so in your case, your eyes are telling the brain you are moving while your body is telling your brain you are stationary - and where the ears enter the picture, is that the inner ear is equipped with fluid and mechanisms that act and counteract to do one thing or the other to maintain our balance. Since the brain is receiving contradictory information, it issues an order of some kind that probably tells the inner ear to do something that doesn't really need to be done cause your body is not actually moving; so you get dizzy. However, my faculties all work fine - I don't get dizzy watching this - so my research revealed that what you must pay attention to is, if you notice other balance-related problems of any kind, it may indicate that you do have a disorder of some kind that should be looked into. It is not necessarily anything major, and balance/dizzy related problems can be cause by a multitude of things - medications, for one. What I would think about if I were you, is: has this bothered you your whole life, or only recently? Like I have already said, do you experience other balance-related problems in a general way? For instance, do you have difficulty walking from a curb to a street? Do you have trouble with stairs? Can you ride a bicycle without getting dizzy or losing your balance? If you can't answer yes or no to any of these questions, then do some experimenting yourself. The red flag is if you have any other balance related problems, then see a doctor about it to find out why. I saw no mention of anything like cancer, so don't fret about that - it's all fixable - it could be something as simple as needing your ears flushed out. I like helping people so that's why I chose to give you this info, but the next time, you have a whole world of information at your fingertips - the Internet. Just go to Google and ask the same question you asked here - and you will get a wealth of answers delivered back to you about anything you want to learn about.
Though I was frustrated with the tunnel vision of this video, I enjoyed seeing this house. It was magnificent in its era. I appreciate the fact that he doesn't talk too much, give unnecessary commentary, or goof around like some of the other explorers.
A great video. And what an amazing home. I think I would get lost in there. Sad to see all that wonderful construction and landscaping design just going to ruin. Thanks for making this video.
This is one of the best explore videos I've ever seen. 1) You showed the entire exterior of the house. 2) Very few cuts so it felt like I was walking right with you. This also reveals the floor plan. 3) I'm not a fan of explorers saying, "Wow! This is the kitchen!" and there was definitely none of that. 4) Also, thanks for the details in the description, definitely the cherry on top! A+++
The lady who owned this house was dying of cancer she had a small ( legal) grow room in closet for her own medical use but apparently the other people ( someone said realestate people or people in charge of her will ) didn't notify of her death & kept growing weed here to profit & turned more rooms into grow rooms ( no one was living there just using it to grow ) & a fire broke out and then police discovered the owner had died & the people had kept it secret & been growing weed there
Thanks for letting us know the story behind this. Very sad to see such a beautiful home destroyed like this. Do you know what happened to this home ? Is it still abandoned ? Has it been sold?
Awesome house. Awesome job. Very sad. Thank you for including it's history, that is why I am liking and subscribing :) whatta shame it's left to rot and be vandaliized :( you did an excellent job with your footage and prior pictures of the house! Bravo! Hopefully someone will buy it and restore and love it again
What a beautiful house. Even though vandals damaged it the real spirit of the house comes through, you are one of the best by far!! Love your creativity :)
THE MOST FANTASTIC RECON OF A MANSION BY AN URBAN EXPLORER IVE EVER SEEN . THE "AS WAS" PICS ARE DIAMOND - GR8 TOUCH ! IVE SUBSCRIBED & WILL BE CHECKING YOU OUT FROM NOW ON . PLEASE STAY SAFE !
I think what you do is cool! On my end of it (watching your videos) I get to see abandoned places and how lavish people once lived. With that being said, I do get the creepy feeling due to the place being abandoned in general, I guess? I don't know what makes me feel this way, but I'd like to say thank you, for being the brave one who goes inside and shows us the amazing footage, not to mention the before and after pics! This is the first one I've watched, and I'm left satisfied with your coverage, and not feeling the need to watch anyone else's coverage!
your videos are interesting, but the fisheye or wide angle camera lens makes me feel a bit nauseated after viewing for awhile. it's a disorienting and unnatural way of viewing things
I saw this explored on another video, but your explore showed more of the house but also you tracked room to room which allowed more understanding of the layout. I heard this is to be demolished. It is beautiful. Oh and I loved that you showed pictures of it when it was in its hay day.
Every time I see these kinds of videos I often wonder the stories behind what caused a family to vaporize from that existence. I really liked the video and the retrospect photos that reflect happier times. I also appreciate it that you tried to keep everything as it was. Have you thought of upgrading your lights to match the lens you're using? Keep up the great work!
i love the way you make this video you show every little space of it and no talking just enjoying the view I LOVE IT thanks who lived there just wondering.
Nice video, dont know if I care to much for the odd camera angel but thank you for taking the time to show us something once so beautiful now in slow decay. When I was a kid my parents and I would wonder thru old abandon houses but never anything of this caliber. Well done good sir.
I agree, it was my new camera and the setting was SUPERWIDE, I have since changed it to WIDE and its much better. Half way through you can see the change as I visited this location 2 times. Thanks for watching ))
Omg, I love watching these. I used to do it with my mom as a kid. I live in Durham and anytime you need a tag a long, I'd be thrilled. I don't have any idea where you even find these haunts.
oh wow..awesome.. i have seen this house in another channel.. but not the 'before' pictures.. its so sad to see all those french doors, doors, fittings will be wasted a way.. thank you for posting the pictures..looks like some one cleaned the shrubs in the backyard..weird.. love your videos.. take care (again a thought.. why cant some one use place for something.. its looks very steady and strong, what a waste)
Thank you for the feedback ) I really liked the before shots so i thought I would share ) Its hard to say what will happen to this place, but it is salvageable i think
there is lot that can be reused..in fact the whole house ..what a shame.. oh well.. at least you have a record of this house..im so glad you do what you do...its really fantastic..and to share it with all of us ..is awesome.. thank you..
I jnow i feel like there should be a company that comes in and salvages the usable hardware and stone flooring and doors and windows and then resell them at a discount price for people in need.
Many modern "mansions" are actually built of cheap materials despite their size, and they deteriorate quickly when not maintained. It is often cheaper to just tear them down and build something new, since the cost of restoration is not worth the expense.
This one definately has that "cheap mcmansion" thing going on. I think it's one of the most tacky places I've ever seen. Reminds me of a mule in horses harness. Or place where porn movies were made.
Yes I've been told that before too. Do you think the rich owners know this and or at least awear of it? I myself would want only the best. The strongest and richest lumber with all materials that's needed. But, then my thoughts are to live there and pass it down to my children and grandchildren and their children .. etc. So to keep it in the generations to come. It would have to be the best of the best. For it would become a dynasty. People that can do this with money seems to be lacking a whole lot upstairs.
WOW! All the negative comments about the workmanship of this house being of "cheap" construction or a modern "McMansion" building. And maybe at first glance it might seem that way. But if you really look deeper at the house, it's not some modern cheap construction thrown up for some one that had more money than sense. Case and point, if you look at all the fixtures in all the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. Everything is high in gilded workmanship. The crown molding is expertly carved. That requires high end hardwood. That stuff you can't mass produce out of anything cheap or flimsy soft wood like pine or particle oak. Not only that but all of the "before" pictures all have styles from the the mid 70's to the mid 80's. By that proof alone the house is not a cheap or modern construction. But it's just the opposite this house was constructed with old school building techniques and quality materials. For being abandoned the house is in amazing condition. In fact with a tube of construction caulk, power, water and a new water pump you could probably run a cleaning sollution through the system and get the indoor waterfall (a mid 60's design) above the main staircase working to give the house a nice tranquility vibe. Anyway, given the design of the house. Along with the different styles in the before and after pictures, it's obvious that the house hasn't been completely exposed to the elements. There's no doubt that it was built to the highest quality building standards. So if this house is still standing it could be restored and would definitely be well worth it. Please observe a little bit more before you comment.
I really liked this house. I found it unusual that all the appliances, fixtures, and even the air conditioning units were still there. The little collection of toy cars kind of broke my heart. I have never seen a clam tub before. That was a new one! All together though, really cool to see, thank you.
We only live once just sitting and imagining the beauty of this type of lifestyle Such a huge place I would definitely wonder if someone was hiding out in there That dining area was beautiful that bar was fabulous The dining area towards the end fabulous
This is a beautiful mansion the structure and design is breath taking i i hope the future generations of this home keep the history of their family up someone work hard for this
It's a very interesting explore but this one has bad feng shui. I don't like this house. It's gaudy, pretentious and ostentatious, even in the before pics. It's like someone with more money then sense designed it, like someone from a trailer park who hit the lottery. Just not my style at all.
I've seen even nicer homes left to ruin. One that especially comes to mind was a place called EDGEMERE in Canada. Since been demolished and condominiums on the site now. $ 37-$45 million. At that time it was THE MOST expensive property in Canada.
LOL! This is the 3rd vid of this house i've seen and alot more damage has been done but, still the same too. GEES! that van is still there and none of you guys will go film it! I wanna see what's in it!!!! Still sitting there in the same place. Very nice tho thanx a bunch!
Great video. Love it that you don't ruin them with endless chatter & horrible music. Don't like the house, inside or out. looks cold & creepy. expected someone to jump out anytime. would not want this place, if it was given to me.
Finally, you got to this place I'm commenting before I watch the video, hopefully you show different views then everybody else did knowing your video you probably will. Very much enjoyed the video, you definitely did show different angles then everybody else did, hopefully this place gets saved and it doesn't end up like every other abandoned house, this place is for the most part very much intact besides a few windows and doors, very savable at this point and time. Too bad you were unable to get in to the left hand side garage, I'm surprised those high-end appliances are still in this house. It could be incorrect but one of the stories I heard on this place the homeowner got sick, she was a single mother quite wealthy and when she moved out the real estate agents are the ones who set up the grow up. I forget, did you ever visit the abandoned cat lady house or what's left of it??
I enjoyed your tour of this palatial estate - what a stunning mansion indeed! When you went through the kitchen area, it appeared as though the residents were disturbed in the middle of their day. Since you saw evidence of a growing operation, I conjecture what probably happened is that some person who knew about their operation snitched them off to the cops and then the cops busted in on them in the middle of the day or night and took them all away - that would explain why the kitchen looks like they were in the process of fixing a meal. Similar to the uploader , I, too; feel for the residents and their children - I mean; they're just going along minding their own business, doing what they do, and someone they trusted betrays their trust, and it's all over for them. I don't see anything particularly "sinister" like the uploader said, about a fire - things happen, and the only way a fire could be thought of as "sinister" would be if arson was suspected. Regardless, that's typically how cops make busts like this - because of a weak cog in the wheel.
Even though it's abandoned,it makes me absolutely sick to see that someone has put graffiti in a few places. What the hell is wrong with people?!Jackasses have no respect:(
Can someone please give me the description and history of this house. It's so beautiful but what is the reason for this mansion to be abandoned? I'm curious. It's beautiful and creepy at the same time.
I've seen a couple of other video's of this beautiful place and had alway's wanted to see it before it had been abandoned and you made that wish come true thank you so much. Would really love to do some research and to know more of it's history, I know I sound like a greedy old woman but these places truly fascinate me.. One question how in the world did you happen to get the before photo's? It really doesn't matter I guess but I'm so happy that you did. Again thank you, you never disappoint. I look forward to your videos
For a mansion, it has charm. From the before pictures we could see it was decorated with taste. It has an Art Deco vibe. I guess you found the before pictures from a real estate listing. Great job! I bet it was a great home to entertain. It could have a second life as an old folks home, just add an elevator and modify the bathrooms. Or it could have been an addiction treatment center. House cleaning must a been a real chore!
I can't imagine how beautiful this place when it was,,,,but now I see like a hell when the night,,,,,oh god I will never stay here although with my boyfriend look so scare,,,,but so good for poto shots of zombie movies,,,,reaction from Indonesia,,,,I'm INDONESIAN GIRL my name is ALEA Michele, ,,,
Thank You Louise Potter Below To Give some previous owner info , R.I.P. Lady cancer Previous owner, & Very Sad the VANDALISM Inside. My the vandals themselves l8tr be Vehemently Vandalized In Their Future as payBack
i love your video's you stay focused on the house not showing old clothes or shit in the toilet etc. like some of the other channel's i watched. thank you, definitely want to see more of your video's.. sorry for the language but it's true.
I can't say that I think much in the builder's tastes in mansions. I'm just old fashioned. I just want to scream when I see such wasted places. The appliances looked new also.
DaaDeeOh's Urban Exploration Thanks for the response. I watched several of this house because I wanted to see if anyone was going to look in the garage. You were the only one to show it.
Wow! This place is not that old and vandals haven’t destroyed everything yet!! What happened to the family?? This home could be saved with a little work! Nice video 😉
You did a great job on the video !! I must say however , I didn't find the house to be homey or beautiful .The only part of it I really enjoyed was the laundry room .It was bright & sunny and put together well!
It is very nice built architecturally and at some places seems in touched and used fire might have been the reason of its habitants to leave this awesome 9000sq ft built mansion ur efforts are good to explore these unseen abandoned houses so that we can also watch these all
