its still being maintained , it the yard were freshly cut trees and the big TV which looks to be late 90s early 2000s CRT model and also the lack of fungus growing outside the house. there is also the lack of paint peeling in the house and the floors are shiney which shows is being cared for.
We have an "abandoned property" left to us when my grandmother passed away, we left the electric on to prevent squatters (hasn't helped w/that) and so we can do work when we are there doing maintenance.
Some FYI for you: Beautiful cedar closet in basement. Used to store clothes. The timer in the down stairs bathroom was for a heater attached to ceiling to keep you warm after getting out of bath/shower. The built in ovens date back to the 60's. Beautiful house. Lots of potential for a remodel.
Yep our house built in 1967 had the Double ovens. My daughter grew up in same house and when she remodeled her 1975 house she got double ovens. The indoor planter boxes were really popular in 50s through 70s house
The timer in the bathroom is for a heat light fixture. It would warm the bath while you shower or took a bath. You could set it for how long you wanted it on.
Would have been really nice in its day. Definitely a fun place to live in its prime. Did the later owners have any idea what took place there. It had some really creepy vibes in the basement from the time you walked in and upstairs. A lot of strange noises. I don’t think I could have stayed in that place as long as you did. Liked the fireplaces but wonder why they didn’t use that same stone as the inside planter. The staircase was really nice. I don’t think I could have stayed in that basement bedroom. For some reason that had a really creepy vibe. Big balcony was nice overlooking the huge pool. You need to be extra careful when you are alone on these properties. One just never knows. Thanks for sharing this one Ethan. I always imagine what life was like when these homes were at the beginning of their lives. I don’t know that I could live in this one even if restored. Or even on the land for that matter. Take care of yourself, be well and STAY SAFE!!
This house is definitely creepy, Ethan ... right down to the cobwebs. It has a dark, negative vibe (both inside and out.) And those strange noises would freak me out, too!
Hello Ethan Wood paneling was common in 60s & 70s Some rooms back then did have light switch on the outside of the door also, I hated that because my sisters would prank each other while showering by turning off the light 🤣🤣🤣 The ghost is mad your in there! That was the noise 🤣🤣🤣 It was messing with you because you brought that energy in with you! 😊😊😊 I bet the basement flooded because of all the mold
I grew up in an A-Frame, my maternal grandparents, in a ranch(two floors) had panelling in the den/office. With bookcases. And...they lived next to a people's cemetary. No problems!
Born in '66 i wish i could go through the '70s as an adult. Good times. The '80s were alright but the '70s were wild and creative. Just watched a video on the Taylor group living in Hawaii. It sounded ideal in many ways.❤
Hi Ethan. Yeah, some of the features of the bathroom are post 60s. Someone probably did some updating at some point. You called it middle clas home but where I grew up it would have been considered Upper middle class. A home like that was usually owned by someone who was a professional of some sort. My family wasn’t super poor but we would have thought we hit the lottery to live in a house like that with an in ground pool.
Quite a few instances of paranormal activity. The white mists show up a few times. Also how you reacted, an unsettling feeling is a sign in itself. Really nice explore. Thanks.
Don't go back there please. That place is creepy as heck. I wonder where the crime took place. I wish we knew more so we could look it up. Thank you Ethan.
So the house was built in 1962, the owner killed someone 8/9 yrs later, 1969 then buried the person under the untouched cement under the built in pool in the backyard 🤔 The sounds you probably heard was bc that house has water damage & a roof that clearly is causing water damage as well. When that happens in a house, more than likely, it can cause electrical fires. Turning on lights in a house like that can definitely cause an electrical fire. U were probably hearing popping of wires.
Man if those walls could talk, i can only imagine what they would say. I agree this was a creepy explore. The thing i felt most creeped out by was the hoe (garden tool) in the hallway upstairs.😬 I’m sure it’s not related to the history of the house, but still, that was an odd spot to leave it. Thanks Ethan for another great explore!
I remember my parents having a 'jet tub' aka Wordpool tub put into our house upstairs in 1969, so I decided to find out when they came out here is that information: When did jetted tubs come out? 1968 In 1968, Roy Jacuzzi created the world's first integrated whirlpool bath, called the Roman, featuring integrated jets with a 50-50 air-to-water ratio.
Mr. Jacuzzi created it for his disabled son. His son used to live in Phoenix. We’d see him at church. He was still in a wheelchair. But, he was quite independent in his own right.
I was concerned because the patio looked as it had been cleaned from overgrowth, the bushes looked freshly trimmed and the 2x4 barrier around the pool were boards that hadn’t been weathered. Then when you walked in the lights were on I expected some one to show up.
Just found this channel and have to say the comments were the best. I guess I’m part of the old crowd and thanks for the smiles when you’re not sure what you are looking at - brought back great memories 💜 despite the weirdness. Best wishes😃
This was just way too creepy, Ethan. Sounds like the killer's spirit is still lurking in his house. That alone gives me goosebumps! You're always entertaining no matter what bro. Great job! Love ya!
Yes, the indoor stone brick feature in the corner is a planter. However in the mid-century, it probably would have been filled with fake plants lol. The speakers in the wall are most likely part of an intercom system. Several mid-century houses had those, very state of the art 😁 The timer in the bathroom would be for a heater, sometimes in the wall, sometimes in the ceiling. The closet next to the open staircase was cedar lined, to keep moths from eating the clothes. Great video!
You said.the murder happened 50 years ago. So did the remaining people continue to live in the house? Untill became abandoned? Or is this another family that abandoned the property?
I don't blame you for being nervous I feel anyone would be. I also agree that photos are a very personal thing and they shouldn't be shown especially those ppl who are not involved with the crime but got caught in the public eye when the incident occured. They shouldn't be haunted by someone else's actions. Great video thanks for showing it to us
Ethan, another great video, but this is one of my favorites, it was one of the creepiest explores I've seen, gotta give you credit I would have been scared 😂
Wonder who is paying the electric bill? I hope you go into these homes protected for your protection. I would wear gloves going into these homes so you don't leave finger prints. That was a creepy house with all the noises. Please be protected so you won't be in danger incase you get confronted. Be safe! Thanks for your videos and ventures! You're awesome! Watching from Ohio.
Great video Ethan the whole house gave me the creeps even with the power turn on I thought If I was going to explore a house like that I would have someone else with me to be on the safe side but a great video and thank you for sharing it with us and see you in the next house explore
That house would’ve been nice for its time. I love the balcony. I agree about all the paneling. Unless it’s high quality it’s just too much. I’m not surprised you were feeling spooked given the history. Thanks for sharing this.
Great find Ethan! Your brave! All those webs 🕸️ When you’re talking @10:10-10:11 sounds like another person is saying something. It’s quick so maybe slow down the speed? But maybe it was the neighbors. Love your Channel Ethan!
Would be lovely to restore. Many homes had tragedy that are lived in. Fox Hollow Farm Amityville, Jean Harlows even the exsorcist home are beautiful homes lived in still and maintained. I fear the living much more than the dead.
Oh my gosh. Creepiness overload. First the basement then the main floor. Plus the endless cobwebs throughout the whole house. and why is there still power on? II do like the wood panelling in the basement very retro here. And the fireplace just beautiful. The upstairs kitchen was pretty cool. Lots of room to get around. It was a good idea not to go out on the deck you never know the condition of it. And the swimming pool yikes. As always a great job filming this house. Take Care and Peace Out.
Great video, Ethan.. thank you. I'm amazed at the fact the hydro is still on, *looking at my bill from Ontario Hydro*? Wondering if the owner is serving time, and taxes, hydro and possibly heating come out of an account?
I remember when wood paneling was the ' in thing". So, if you didn't have it you would get it . Well I was born in 1964. So I really didn't know anything about decor yet. But I remember that one thing. In the 60s,70s You were blessed to have modern amenities in America at that time .😂😂😂
Ethan, I never heard one single noise that you said you heard while there. Unfortunately, your phone never picked up any of the sounds you were alluding to. Maybe there is some better technology "out there," you can purchase to help amplify ambient sound in the houses. I do enjoy your 1960s home visits, the bigger ones are always very nice to walk through. Interesting and sometimes memory producing.
Great video ,your realization to the video went over very good and the action at the time made it game appearance simulation also heard breaking glass while you were out side at the end.
This house is creepy. Bad vibes. Love that bkue bathroom. Very nice. Hi Ethan. House could be haunted. I heard the people outside. Weird house. Be safe.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I bought my big old house in Texas from a lady who died and wasn’t discovered for days. Sad event, but I didn’t let that scare me. The house is fantastic and I’ve made it mine over the years.. ☀☀
In the 60's "earth tones" were a big decorating color craze. And manufactured paneling was a new thing. They used to install bare wood and stain it after it was nailed up.
I AGREE 100%...taking photos of the families who have lived in these homes and including them into your video I too feel is invasion of privacy.....Good find btw...👍👍👍
Thank you Ethan! I enjoy your videos coz you don't focus on the personal stuff. I enjoy the architecture in your videos, not someone's photos. I also dislike basements lol
Wow what an amazing home to be setting empty. I can’t imagine the cost to replicate this home today. This is an amazing video and thank you so much for I Subed your Chanel Travis
That switch in the bathroom was for the heater. The house I grew up in had them. We also had the attic fan. Did wonders for cooling the house. We didn't have air conditioning but it sure kept the house cool during those hot East Texas summers. The house still stands today. It was built in 1952. I was born in 62. The double oven... the cedar closet...the checkered floor. So many memories I hadn't thought about for a long time.
Wouldn't that pool be dug up if someone was buried under it? Back in those older homes the whole house would have wood paneling for all walls. That timer in that bathroom was most likely for warming lights on the ceiling. A lot of those older homes had them in the bathrooms.
I do like the style of the home. It was probably considered typical middle class of the era, although that can vary greatly, depending on the region. I'm sure it was a very nice home in it's younger life, and most likely a lot of great times were enjoyed there. It is very tragic some horrible thing took place there. I'm pretty sure I could never live in a home if I had knowledge of such things having taken place in it. Cool but creepy! 🫣😳✌️
You are very brave to go into the home alone. It is a nice home, too bad it’s going to be gone soon. Very sad someone was hurt here and disposed somewhere. Keep,up the good work and be safe.❤😅
When you said too much wood, you are right. But I'm seeing it decorated and full of life and beauty, which breaks up the wood everywhere in the basement.
Hey Ethan...I like this house because its 60s style..lovely big windows...was a bit creepy 😳...knowing what happened there probably freaked you out even more ...your naughty to go on your own..but that said thanks for the tour..stay safe well and happy 💋
Basements! Yuck. Mold and just plain creepy. I’m sure that one was nice when the house was lived in. And I agree with you about showing family photos. It’s just a shame they’re left behind.
19:50, Yes, thought heard noise's too.. Really nice house, did see some damage in corner in kitchen. Hey Ethan, have you thought of wearing mask, with that mold in basement your safety is # 1...
What actually happened in that house that makes it creepy? Who was killed there and who did the killing? I wouldn't consider that a basement, just a lower level of the house (it's grade level). A basement to me is underground. Thanks Ethan, cool vid.
@@mascottieHow'd they retrieve the body with the pool still there? I wonder if there's any newspaper reporting on this case, I'd like to read about it.
Great house, i would be putting a light wood or just a bit, maybe grey wood like a grey ash and white but that's typical 60s! Good find thanks for sharing.
The closet with the different wood that smelled “funny”, is a cedar closet that was used to store furs and wool items during the summer months to keep moths from causing damage to expensive articles.
Ok. If that is in fact what happened here. I really don't think that person/people would be coming back to get you. Just because it is so old and literally falling apart does not make it creepy. Your creeping yourself out. Imagining stuff. Interesting find. Try not go to stuff that creeps you out. Please. It's much more fun. Love ya Ethan! 🤗👍
