Join me as I visit the abandoned coal mining town of Nortonville, California. Established in 1855 and lasting a mere 50 years, Nortonville was home to hundreds of miners and their families. By 1885 the mines and the town were gone.

Cool video! I wasn't aware of these abandoned towns around Mt Diablo. Question: I noticed you parked the motorcycle and hiked along the way. Can't you ride all the way (or is it blocked for motorized vehicles)?

Hi, thanks for watching! The trail is not open to vehicles so I had to go on foot.
