We explore MR MARVELS - Scarborough's iconic, abandoned amusement park in North Bay!
Mr Marvels first opened in 1969 and closed for the last time in 2002. The iconic park featured a full array of different rides and attractions - both permanent and temporary and experienced a HUGE draw for tourists visiting the East Coast throughout the 80's and 90's.
In our latest video we return to the site of our former favourite childhood amusement park to see what has become of the site and just how much is actually still left.
The site on which Mr Marvels once stood was earmarked for redevelopment following the park's closure in the early 00's, but to date (as of today - 28/02/2024) the site remains abandoned and derelict.

Did you ever visit Mr Marvels in Scarborough back in the park's heyday when it was open and operating? If so, what are your favourite memories of the amusement park and which rides did you love riding the most? I was 3 in 98 but I can remember my dad almost taking me on the cable car I started to cry so he never took me on it 😂😂 my sister remembers it a lot even the roller coaster I've been coming to scarborough for 30 years next year 1995 and I still go to this day! I really want to write a memoir about it I've put away a novel idea set here too so we'll see 🤞🤞💖

Had great fun in marvels theme park going when it opened in 1984 till it closed in 2002 . fantastic memories.can still remember the ghost train the best in Britain at the time . the gokarts, rollercoaster dodgems to name but a few .i remember the dinosaurs from when the park was called zoo and marineland with the dolphins shows back in the seventies but the ride you never forget is the chair lift the view of north bay and the park as you travel into it was amazing. I even took my own family on it before it closed . can't believe after 22 years its been left abandoned and time as surely taken its toll great review

I don't remember Mr Marvels, it looks lime it was fabulous. In Scarborough I remember the waterpark with the giant blue water slides. I think that's gone? I remember Kinderland - is that still there? And Flamingoland, I think that is still there. My favourite thing about Scarbough was "The joke shack" at the bottom of the hill the the castle. It was full of practical jokes. I loved the magic shops too, I developed a love of magic thanks to those shops and shopkeepers in Scarborough

I've never been to Mr Marvels, I've probably been to Scarborough only two or three times in my life but you've presented such a fantastic video that I'm feeling nostalgic for somewhere that I've never been!

I never knew about this place until recently! The site of Frontierland Morecambe is the same to me that holds childhood memories.

We got the bus from Glasgow down to Scarborough for a holiday when I was a child. I have fond memories of Scarborough! I remember using the chair lifts, going to Mr Marvels, Kinderland, the outdoor swimming pool & also Terror Tower.

I remember the smaller chairlift, took you from Peasholm Park direction. Remember that around 1999/2000 ish, me and my sister were going to go on it, but it was wet and the attendant was drying off the cars. But we were still unsure of what it was like. I was about 9-10 at the time and now 34

Wow, what a fantastic memory! We'd forgotten there used to be two chairlifts as we only remembered the one in south bay - so great to take a closer look at what remains today for sure 😀

There was two ways car From peasholme too! All still there are the bottom. So sad to see I like this

Used to love this place whilst on holiday in Burniston just down the road for several summers. Me and my sister used to love the rollercoaster. Gutted it closed

Remember in the 1970's it was scarborough zoo, they even had dolphins.
