One of my first explores of 2019 was an Abandoned Ontario Psychiatric Hospital. The hospital opened in 1951 & was in operation for nearly 60 years before government mandate shut it down.

Just caught your abandoned Ontario Asylum!!!! EPIC!! I been a nurse 38 years and we had a state facility held 4000 patients. Shut down in the 80s same reason. Great video! Stay Safe out there

AMAZING explore!!! The paint peel is simply crazy! You know it is a COLD day when you can see the ice crystals in the air - inside! 15:41 - They even left toilet paper for you.

100% Agree there's so many big Abandoned buildings all over Canada that could be fixed up to shelter the homeless especially in the winter such a shame to let these places go to waste just to sit there and decay

It blows my mind you were able to get inside this place. I have lived in the same area as it my entire life and know how high security is . I pulled up in front of it one day and security was right behind me. Thank you for taking this video , I have always been curious to what it looks like inside !

I live in the town this buildings at (i won't say its name as I see no one else is ?..starts with an H ;) Im surprised he got in as security is always present....and its across the Road from the po po :) but you know how it is...sometimes if you know a guy.. you just might get lucky ;) but that being said I never have gotten in and always wanted to see inside - so lucky you!!. I was hoping you would make it to the pool! I've always wanted to see it..but awesome to get a peek into a small portion of this center. 🙏 great work. Bless the poor souls who are buried in a mass grave across the rd. :(

The huge 5 storey buildings of the Psychiatric Hospital, indirectly shows there are so many people in dire need of psychiatric help. Sad, for whatever reasons that they fell sick and need to be sent for treatment, rehabilitation or simply treated as a stay in patients. The rooms with the patient's name on the door could have been a live in patients. The rooms were differently decorated, most probably by the patients family. Each of the room looks narrow and small, rather claustrophobic for certain people. Eventhough it was meant to be a room but it still looks more like a detention room or a nicely decorated dungeon. It must be traumatic for the patients, especially young children to be sent there for whatever reasons, by their parents or guardians, knowing that most of the time the result would have been against the patients interest and ended tragically. To be alone in a deserted and foreboding looking building, where some patients have died of an unnatural death, and videoing it in a calm manner, is worthy of a salute. Great video Riddim Ryder. no, England and USA figured out that nut houses were big business as they could keep people there against there will, especialy unwed , new mommas.... so if ya wernt batshit crazy ya soon would be...., shock tharepy, and everyone running around setting themselves on fire and then finger painting with there own poop would push most people to the brking point....., another trick was if your wife was getting on yer nerves, bam, "this bitch is cray cray" , she gone.... lota people even up yill the 70s....

Billy Talent show their music video here, my friends and I saw them recording and said hello, I've been through here for years as a kid, we were here before anyone destroyed it, there were still files on the desks and sheets on the beds, and tooth brushes ...i have loads of video at my friends place on their old video camera :)

This hospital closed Jan. 2011 when the city finished building a new hospital with a part of the new hospital had a floor for mental health patients the top floor whitch had green paint oringinally was 3c on one side and 3d on other side was nicknamed the green Mile by the patients

Interesting how the lower floor appears to have more ceiling damage. I suppose that was the water areas that were frozen on the upper floors. They were changing out the doors in some areas. Stay safe.

This place is loaded with asbestos. Lived around the corner from Ajax South end. So many of my friends got laid and would party there lol. Billy talent shot there music video try honesty here. I forget what buildings are haunted again but definitely a creepy place!

Excellent explore. Just wondering where the kitchen was to service all those patients and also I am surprised that each room had a window with no bars to stop jumpers and escapes. Love it, please keep them coming 😎

hey, i lived down the road from this place! it’s in brockville ontario right on highway number 2 headed east, hope that kind of helps! there is a department in the back that is still up and running, but all the front buildings are abandoned!

hi, riddim!! i found your videos today. I'm binging on psych hospital and urbex adventures. i like the smoothness of this video, its peaceful except for the loud music parts. i prefer these solo trips to ones where you team up because those are just too fast, they make me queasy because there's no time to focus. great stuff!!!

Vyker Park I think it's the Huronia Regional Centre. Operated between 1876 and 2009 in Orillia. You would think he would tell where it is. In the description he says it was built in 1951. Regardless, I'm happy they closed this place down, The horror that these poor kids had to go through.

Was just in there and it’s funny you found a sheriffs hat as I had found a O.P.P. hat. It’s no longer abandoned tho as they are cleaning and fixing? It up somewhat. Also the power is back on as well as active motion censors. Well that foils my plans for all the copper. Oh well off to the next one

Have you ever explored the old Whitby psychiatric hospital? They are all torn down now. There were multiple cottages where people stayed. They people who received treatment as well had participated in farming program, gardening and other activities. There is one cottage remaining. It was similar to a small town within in Whitby, Ontario. The hospital was also used to house/treat injured soldiers.

This was a terrible place, I remember going there when I was 7 to visit my brother, who was 4 at the time back in 1970 and he, along with many other patients, were in what was called cribs but what they were was jail cells on wheels. Also, they did not segregate the kids from adults. It is a sad part of Canadian history.
