They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What may seem an eyesore to one person, just might be a beautiful masterpiece to another. There are places beloved by communities and protected in the hearts of those that hold their memories of its tattered hallways and decayed rooms dear. This is the way that we feel when we explore places that have been forgotten by time. Left to rot and decay and only holding the silent whispers of what once was. We know that there are people out there with malicious intent toward these places that we venture into. It saddens us when we see the filth and destruction they leave behind, but we want to make something very clear… We are explorers and lovers of history. We in no way, shape or form condone the criminal activities that take place in the historical decaying places that we document. Social media has brought many of these places to the limelight, but the intention is to show the beauty and mystery of abandonment. Not to invite trouble. Trouble will find its way on its own and to say that the peaceful documentation of these places leads to criminal activity, is mind blowing. We have met so many amazing fellow explorers in our travels and are so thankful and humbled by the positive responses we have received. We know that this type of exploration is not for everyone…many people don’t understand why we find such beauty in decay, we can only explain it as a beautiful journey into the past. We invite you to watch our explores and come along as we visit these amazing places. As for the criminal activity that occurs, those individuals are responsible for their own actions. It is a terrible part of our society, but reality, nonetheless. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for loving this location just as much as we do. We hope that through this video, the memories held within will remain.

Looks to me like it was probably used as an assisted living residence. I am wondering why it was just left though. Personal belongings in the rooms. Hats and coats left downstairs unless it was staged. Very nice find. Sad to see it just left that way.

No doubt about it. A boarding house for the elderly. Could have been a single family mansion at one time but that fire escape was installed a while ago which is code for a place like this. Single family homes just don’t have fire escapes. Good idea to keep a fire escape rope ladder in all the closets upstairs though.

It's not every day you are able to see Detroit artwork like that. I search in dusty half fallen barns and garages for just pictures of partial vehicles that have rotted away over the decades. I think I would have had to go sit down for a while before I could stop shaking and focus. I had to pause this video several times just to relax and enjoy such a wonderful piece of frozen history. Thank you so much for not just saying,. Oh there's an old car and passing by. Like in your bio, everyone has that something that they just find pure enjoyment from. Mine just so happens to be relics from an era of automobile history that will never be replicated again. They are all unique and an art form all their own. I really appreciate just seeing this video and having hopes of one day finding a place like that. Thanks again, it was an honor to watch your video.

Thank You For The Tour, What An Amazing Place, Stuck In Time Gone By, A Great Time Captual Of The 1900 To 1960's, It Must Have Been A Large Family That Lived There, The Dodge Truck Was A 1960's And The Packard Would Of Been Around A 1946 - 1948. Maybe Earlier. But The Old Panio is A Real Collecter's Peace, Worth Lots Of Money. As Are The Car And Truck. The House Seemed Still Very Sound With No Water Damage Inside, So The Roof Must Of Been Done Well When It Was Built. Maybe In The 1900's.

@@JMExplorations thank you, for your reply, yes it was a great place, it's a pity that it has been left, and not being lived in, as it looked still in great condition inside, as for the Dodge truck, I use to work on the motors from those, and the Dodge cars, when I first started working as a mechanic back in 1966, I am 76 years old now. And that piano that needs to go to a museum with all the music reels. It was a true diamond in your video. Thank you.

I think it is safe to say that the place was once a boarding home and not a very nice one either. Everything is cheap and old. Considering how most personal belongings are still there - I'm guessing the home was condemned and people forced out or the owners died and no one was going to continue running the boarding home. That Packard is a `40 or a `41 model year. It appears to be in rather good condition considering where it is.

It does look pristine comparatively speaking to most of the locations we see. I (Jen) actually prefer decay to a more “staged” look, but this place was still captivating to me. Untouched by vandals… thank God, so that helps with its pristine look. Look a little closer and you will see mouse droppings, mold, dust ect. For me, it is the smell. You know that unmistakable aroma of abandonment? It hits you right when you walk through the door! The lamps were so retro and cool! We loved every minute spent here!☺️

Strange vibe on the second floor. Almost seemed like it was some kind of a care home or boarding house. But that would be unusual because of the staircase up. I also suspect there were originally 4 bedrooms that were at some point concerted into 8. On the 3rd floor we sadly only saw two of the rooms. The ground floor was very traditional with kitchen, living room etc.

Yeah we thought it was some kind of boarding house as well! There were 6 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the second floor (all finished). The third floor was the same but only 2 of the rooms were finished which we showed them. The first floor was pretty traditional as you said. The basement which we didn't show had standing water on the floor and it looked like it was in need of a new boiler and well pump. The house was good size and gorgeous!! I was just looking at that packard and thinking how under all that dirt might he a nice paint job still. And I thought if u just wash it it may be in good condition. Then u dug on it with ur finger, which makes the dirt and grit scratch grooves in the paint😳

Oh yes…I “dug” my finger in. Gimme a break! I used the soft part of my finger to gently wipe away the dirt. 🙄🙄🙄

That place looks to me like it's a retreat some kind of a Catholic retreat because of the religious statues and so forth once upon a time that Catholic Church drove Packard's, and the fact that the fire escape the way it was a kind of does look like it may have been like a personal care home or something too but I don't think that list would had an elevator because nobody would have been able to get up and down them steps, that's why it looks like it was some type of a retreat maybe a club retreat he looks like a Catholic retreat to me

The house appears to be a Sears post war kit house, my aunt and uncle had one exactly like it. They could be picked up for a few thousand dollars and came with everything to assemble and finish.
