J&M Explorations
Ellington, CT 06029

Within the passageways and careworn walls of structures long forgotten, lies history, imprinted memories of the past and the soft whispers of souls who once gave breath of life to these crumbling walls engulfed by time. We are Jennifer and Marcel of J&M Explorations, two best friends who found within each other love, inspiration, and a mutual passion for exploration and adventure. As urban exploration begins its journey into the limelight, it is our desire to share our adventures with other explorers, learn from those around us who share the same affection for abandoned places and to promote respectful and peaceful journeys into the dwellings that hold such antiquity and elegance within it's decay. We look forward to hearing from you and in your sharing your adventures with us!

Do whatever makes you feel alive!!

Not defending the people who vandalized this house, but the owners should have sold it or found a rental agency that would keep the place occupied. If you just leave a place anywhere in the United States and don't check on it, it will eventually get broken into and then it's just a matter of time before it's completely destroyed. If they thought they may return someday they should have hired someone to keep the place up and they should have kept it insured also. Now they are probably not interested in selling it because they will take such a loss.

They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What may seem an eyesore to one person, just might be a beautiful masterpiece to another. There are places beloved by communities and protected in the hearts of those that hold their memories of its tattered hallways and decayed rooms dear. This is the way that we feel when we explore places that have been forgotten by time. Left to rot and decay and only holding the silent whispers of what once was. We know that there are people out there with malicious intent toward these places that we venture into. It saddens us when we see the filth and destruction they leave behind, but we want to make something very clear… We are explorers and lovers of history. We in no way, shape or form condone the criminal activities that take place in the historical decaying places that we document. Social media has brought many of these places to the limelight, but the intention is to show the beauty and mystery of abandonment. Not to invite trouble. Trouble will find its way on its own and to say that the peaceful documentation of these places leads to criminal activity, is mind blowing. We have met so many amazing fellow explorers in our travels and are so thankful and humbled by the positive responses we have received. We know that this type of exploration is not for everyone…many people don’t understand why we find such beauty in decay, we can only explain it as a beautiful journey into the past. We invite you to watch our explores and come along as we visit these amazing places. As for the criminal activity that occurs, those individuals are responsible for their own actions. It is a terrible part of our society, but reality, nonetheless. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for loving this location just as much as we do. We hope that through this video, the memories held within will remain.

Hey man welcome to my town! I don’t know where to begin…your video covers Camp Irondale which was originally a Boy Scouts camp put there by Franklin Roosevelt! Before that is was protected land all native. My best friend lives right there actually and I live in a huge house in main town Irondale. My goal my entire life spent here is to restore the place but being one person and having only a handful l of times two locals of everyone helped, no one here cares to see this place in all its glory besides me and a couple others. Most residents are bums and crackheads love to catch with them and while they do, go out and smash or steal all of my hard work from laying down stones to repairing sidewalks. I will never stop trying in hopes for this town but now I have started collecting what I can and holding onto it until I can bring it pack to its original place. I promise this town will look stunning again one day and I want to bring back everything I can from our past. My house has been through it all being over 200 years old my life is restoring stuff and this town is where I do it! If it isn’t the crackheads, it’s the dreaded biker club here that buys out building then destroys them. They won the old post office against me and I worry they’ll flatten it as they did the original school (or what was left of it which was STUNNING). If anyone reads this comment or is nearby and would like to help please feel free to respond and any given moment I will join you. If you ever choose to come back here which I really hope you do, you’ll see a slight difference but sadly not much of one just yet, everything I had done was absolutely wrecked and that messed with me for some time but not anymore as I’ve gotten straight back to it and locals have given me awesome materials to do so.

Hey everybody, you might remember me. My name is Dave Bloomberg. I was in the line August 31 of 92 May 1993 Joe Ritchie had me removed cause I yelled and scream for three weeks straight and he put me in the small cabin closer to the lake, like the night guard coordinator and the only way I would stop yelling is if you gave me a cigarette which they did deserve to be there my own device it has ruined my life. I have stress on it. It didn’t hit me when I went home because I met a beautiful girl and when she went home, I couldn’t handle the dreams so I would use her I done it before but never three times in a row. I became a raging addict from 16 2017 been on methadon 2006 Travis Dion little shit and that you know Claire Maria the names are foggy a girl name Rachel from New York Trish redhead. We jumped right out the window of the bathroom can’t go to the bathroom by the south it higher than that killed me. So the first two rooms they explore (the fireplace, blue tiles, etc) this was the Junior School (K-6.. and then 7th added the year I thought I'd exit Junior School; actually pre-K as Cadet Kelly was 4 years old when he came there). By the fireplace (unused the six years I was there) was a grand piano. The room behind the fireplace the quarter master and small infirmary. When they pass into the next room of the two they are literally where my bunk was there by the window. To the right "was" the latrine (three connected rooms rows of unpartitioned toilets to the left and sink and a trough urinal to the right, a step in dressing room, and then communal shower). Down at the end the small room with toilet and urinal was the private room of (Captain Cooper) the Junior School adult commandant. He was a mean sob, who severely abused me and sexually abused others. He died in that room (taken by God in answer to prayers). Towards the other side of the doorway to the stairs up/down out, that room was storage for dress uniforms and other gear. As they exit this section and enter the lobby area they turn left into a room that was my home in 8th grade (Senior school). That fireplace was also unused and hidden behind a full row of 6' high lockers. Actually maybe the QM room was drywalled (it was skinny (and had the fireplace inside it). After they leave back through lobby area those were offices. fireplaces and grand architecture hardens back to 1930's or whatever when this was built as a country club prior to bankruptcy and becoming a military school. The rooms in this wing were Senior School cadet rooms... as cadet population diminished this floor and the one above it in this wing were the last used. Above Junior School are rooms that had cadets when I was younger. Yep... 2/room connected by shared bath 2/room. Basic sure but Junior School as said was open latrine with unpartitioned toilets, common shower, no privacy. So as spartan as these small dorm rooms were, more privacy. In 8th grade showers were in a metal annex building/gym. There was similar shared latrine. You're back in the lobby. So up stairs to the right was Colonel and Mrs. Conklin (head, and owner of the school) private and ornate quarters (seen few times by me). At 31 minutes you're in the mess hall which also doubled as church (denominations rotated each year; Catholics got to leave campus each week.). At 34 the door with a square cut out (why?) senior school entry from back of the bldg for meals. Jr school only entered and exited in formation/lines. So from pool looking back is this entrance for senior school into mess hall. Balcony/patio? behind Jr school, 8th grade area (ballrooom from CC days)

@@WilliamD1464 Hello and thank you for watching. We live in Connecticut, so most of the places you see on our channel, including this one, are places we have had to drive (or fly) to. One of our favorite hikes to airplane wreckage was our hike to the TWA crash in New Mexico and that was quite a journey to get to. We network with others and do our own research to find cool places to explore. Even in suburban areas, you can find a gem or two! This is actually one of the reasons why we film our explores. One, to have fun and have our memories documented. And two, to take people to places they might not ever get to see. Hope you enjoyed the video.
