That area is the digsite and it you use the duplication exploit to complete the altars, then it opens up shortly after completing the second one. Nothing new appears there from what you have already seen but there is an actual entrance right beside the concerned monkeys shop once those roots retreat. Good find on the backdoor though!
@@heartforpixels You can use multiple of the same item in each altar as long as the new ones have a star rank. So for the salt fish altar for example, you can add any sardine for one spot. Then you can add four more bronze or higher sardines to complete the altar. Only restriction is one per day and you have to reload in between. So place a sardine, finish the day and save, reload the new day, place a starred sardine, finish the day and save, reload that new day... and so on. You can do multiple offerings at a time, but only one duplicate item per day. So one sardine for the salt and one frogfish for the rare, etc. Also they don't all have to be bronze or whatever, any actual star rank is fine (non regular rank).
You can buy a fossil node by chance from the blackmarket vendor in her boat in the evening. However you can't get them deconstructed yet. I think in the update announced for December later they said we might be able to turn them in then.
Yeah, I've been playing the beta and I've been able to gather fossil nodes in the ocean. In Ling's lab you can break them open, making it a lot easier to fill the museum.
For the bolder you should hit it up first thing in the morning, if it doesn't proc doubble ore reload and try again, that way you get 20 ore instead of just 10.
