AMEX isn't very rare. I remember my dad used to pay with his AMEX back in the 90s when he'd visit Lima. Pretty awesome city, glad you liked it :)

In Peru there are many places to visit such as Cuzco, Machupichu, the only oasis in America called Huacachina, Paracas, the City of Arequipa which is equal to or more beautiful than Lima, the Amazon River of Peru, .... full trekking etc etc etc

Great video! I am going to Peru next March and videos like yours are so helpful. Did you feel safe in the Centro Historico? I saw another video of guy saying it was kind of dodgy but probably ok during the day. It looks beautiful though. BTW, I usually can notice a Canadian accent but I didn't know you were Canadian until you said you were. I have dual citizenship and have spent a lot of time in Canada so I am familiar with the accent, as subtle as it is. Anyway, awesome video and thanks for making it.

Peru is amazing, you will have a great time! The center area is beautiful but you do need to be more aware of your belongings, I wouldn’t go at night unless you’re with a tour. Most of the centers in Latin American countries are more unsafe, but there are other great areas you can stay in. Enjoy your stay!

It's advisable to use a money belt bag for items you wouldn't mind losing, especially when in any downtown centre in South America. It's preferable to be with someone or part of a tour rather than being alone, when in Lima CBD. Yet, it's vital to highlight that Miraflores and Barranco, representing the vibrant lifestyle of Lima, are exceptionally safe-akin to mini cities where security is not a major concern.

Thank you Chris! We will most likely do a tour when visiting the historic district. I am a well seasoned traveler and have been several times to South America but having said that, I am very careful and always remain alert to my surroundings. @@BritishExpatWorldTraveler

Huacas are somethig really common at the Peruvian coast. The ancient LIMA culture had lots of Huacas and these are there still at different parts of the city. Sadly even if there are protected by bars, the goverment didn´t invest in restoration, so they are not at the Huaca Pucllana state at all. At other districts like, San Borja, La Molina, San Miguel, etc, you can found other Huacas, but it doesn worth to visit them, because their state and because you can´t even enter to visit inside the area.

Good video, you would also have liked to see the Chorrillos district for its views of the sea and it was next to the Barranco district. Find information on which sectors to visit for safety as in any place. It is the district where most tourist buses end their journey.

You missed visited Santiago de surco a beautiful district close to Miraflores and Barranco, there You Will find better prices for rent flats and the cost or the food and other goods are better than Miraflores or barranco ...

There is high possibility next government will be more liberal, since we just had a disastrous but short left wing government. We need to lower the tax rate in Peru! for everyone!
