Fenders will help keep the occasional stick from shooting up and stabbing you as well. Many have learned this the hard way. Some sheet metal where your left leg rests and the passengers right leg rest on the frame would help as well. I've seen where sticks went though the floor in side by sides as well.

On a Yamaha Wolverine i had a pushed over tree pointing towards me deflect up the leg of my shorts and tear my underwear off as it went up next to my footpeg, straight up the leg of my shorts, out the waistband and belt and my drawers were on the end of it 6 feet above my head. NOT A SCRATCH!. Bought steel mesh footboards the next day!

Agree 100%... However, as a viewer I would like to see a video or segment where he hands the wheel to someone qualified to push it towards the boundaries he made it for. Because he made a monster, and we watched the whole build just waiting to see it off leash....and this is just taking it to the backyard to poop.

The Buggy is performing really well. Great job on the project. Light weight rain gear like a waterproof windbreaker is the key in wet conditions even in spring/summer trail riding. That saved me from being soaked and chilled many times. Might want to consider a small dry box to keep some gear protected out on the trails. Like a few others mentioned, ride at your own pace for now and when you get more comfortable with the buggy speed will come naturally. It is a custom build after all and needs to be broken in/tested safely.
@LeObsidianCraft

To help keep yourself dry, I would say that fenders on the front tires would make a huge impact on reducing the wake while still keeping it stylish
@catfisher420
@catfisher420 4 года назад
look how the water comes in at 5:45, The tires are shooting the water straight into his face from the bottom, fenders wouldn't help at all. He needs sheet metal in front of the foot area and a windshield. Maybe even some sheet metal flat off the front of the dash with a hole cut in it for the shock to go through and could cut a piece of rubber to cover the hole and seal around the shock.

Looks fun! Whenever there are trees that close to the trail, it is not a good place to go fast, you were doing just fine. Make friends with it first before you beat on it. Just throwing this out there, body panels can be made out of plastic that is built just like cardboard and comes in different colors. Realtors use this material for signs. And use zip-ties to hold them in place. It’s a light weight solution. Now that you’re done with the buggy, build an airplane, learn how to fly it and get sponsors to pay for it.
