Our first trip up the the trails at Glorieta Adventure Camps. Cairn Me Up Trail and Chips & Salsa Trail were the main two trails we rode in this video. We added in some Green Trail Loop and Route 66 Trail to get back to the parking area for a little longer loop. We came across some neat sights, views and bear tracks. Enjoy the ride.

There are no better commercials for fat bikes than your videos! I want one every time I watch!

There are some sales for the holiday on the Foes racing Mutz fatty and sales on some of the other fat bikes out there this weekend. Add one to the quiver. If you loving riding you’ll enjoy a nice fatty. Life is short.

There is some big stuff up there. Lots of flow too. Fun stuff. I’d like to see someone slay those big boosters up there.

Chips and Salsa looks like a blast. Bet it's real easy to let the speed get out of control.

Great job. You know, I've ridden this so many times and I have never seen that concrete tunnel to the parking lot. Usually everyone parks at the old church. Where is this route66 section, looks like a whole other trail.
@NewMexicoOutside
@NewMexicoOutside Год назад
It’s south along the freeway. There are actually 2 tunnels you’ll go through. If you look at the #trailforks app you can see the Route 66 trail mapped out on there now. They are currently working on cutting another trail off that Route 66 trail up at the northern end. Looks like it’s going to be pretty nice once they get it done. Trail crew has and is doing a great job on the system up there.

Still ride the Icans. Just running simple rigid Ti Big Iron for awhile while I replace some bearings and bushings in the full Squish linkages.

Cool vid. Is there some inherent advantage to riding these type of bikes? More grip, more comfortable?
@NewMexicoOutside
@NewMexicoOutside Год назад
Yes, much more versatile. Why fat bikes? With a fat bike you are not limited on the tire width. You can run up to 5 inch wide tires. And any size wheel below that if you wanted ~ 27.5+, 29+, 26, etc. Fat bikes are like monster trucks, the Jeep’s of the bike world. They can go anywhere and are unlimited compared to our skinny tire bikes. You can ride through all four seasons and all surface types on the same bike. With minimal trail impact. Snow, sand dunes, arroyos, cobblestone river beds, slick rock, hard pack, you name it. And they help build/roll in the trail. So you’re actually doing trail maintenance as you ride. Smoothing out all those skinny tire mud ruts is an extra bonus for your local singletrack. With modern materials they can be built lightweight and they climb like a goat. Our goal is to inspire more people getting outside and encouraging adding a fat bike to the quiver. Go explore more places and have less of an impact while riding in sandy softer soils. Broaden your horizons with a nice fat bike. Explore the many miles of sandy arroyos and dunes in the southwest without pizza cutting through the desert crust (“pizza cutting” increases erosion).

I have a fattie, but my son has a standard MTB running 2.6". Looks like this trail would be OK for standard MTB? I didn't see soft sand. What would you say?

Regular mtb be would be fine in Glorieta.

Another satisfying video, except I've never cared for the music in these videos. Then again my taste in music might suck. Keep making the videos. I'll just mute the sound 😁

@NewMexicoOutside Год назад
Right on. Glad you enjoyed the scenery. That’s the great part about RU-vid. You can mute it and put on your own favorite tunes and jam out with us. 👍

I really appreciate the music. From your videos I discovered some music by bands that recorded years ago M83 and Goldfrappe that I didn't even know existed - and I ended purchasing their recordings. Keep it up.
