@@mmhhgabe4599 idk, if they use a respawn mechanic, that shouldn't be a problem. i mean it already happens sometimes, especially on cc tracks :D put it in infection mode and it should be a blast ^^

Wendy owning a donut shop is pretty clever, since her bossfights normally feature rings, which, y’know, are what donuts are shaped like. Also, I imagine, based on his role in DKC, that Funky Kong is running Barrel Travel. Good for him. 9:15 I agree, what were those even meant to be originally? Giant cut-in-half colanders? 10:59 Wait, why did they add that wavy pattern to the sand here but not on Toad Circuit? You can see in pre-release screenshots that it was originally going to be more orange, so they put some thought into it, too!
Episode 5 of the out of bounds Mario Kart 8 Deluxe series this is a great series because it shows how much (or how little) detail some tracks have in this game, Nintendo really worked hard for the small details on some of the tracks, even on places which you can barely see during normal gameplay :D

big fan of this series. always nice to see what's hidden in all these maps! also love how the devs on one hand put details you're usually not able to see everywhere and on the other hand only model visible sides of some objects :D
I feel like this is a stupid comment but it’s odd how all (most) of the stores in the mushroom kingdom are named after people in the mushroom kingdom. That would be like if every store was called “George Washington Grocery” or “Elon Musk Bookstore”
It's not super unheard of in real life, either. Public works get named after historical figures, small businesses often have their owner's name in them, and brands sometimes use celebs' faces and names for licensing deals. It's kind of funny in MK8 though where the brands are all owned by the racers - feels kinda seedy that they're all advertising their own projects!
These really show we need some kind of campaign mode with a big ol map to explore and race in MK9. It's such an obvious direction for mario kart to go and I'm surprised they haven't done it yet.
13:30 now I’m curious is diamond city (location for wario ware series) is in the mushroom kingdom. The wiki says that diamond city is probably located on earth but it is ambiguous on whether the mushroom kingdom is. Personally I like to think that wario just lives on earth and occasionally commutes to the mushroom kingdom whenever he has to be in a mario game. Being in the mario games probably pays better than his micro games so it’s probably worth it for him and lucrative in the long run. Wario is already rich from his past journeys finding treasures in the wario land games so he can probably afford such travel costs and is reimbursed from his Mario game paycheck
There's probably a way simpler explanation than what I'm about to say, but yeah, I'm pretty sure the Mushroom Kingdom is on Earth. At the very least in Odyssey, you can see Mario travelling between Earth and the Moon whenever he goes to the Moon Kingdom from the Mushroom Kingdom. You can see this in other 3D games too but what planet he's on is never specified until Odyssey.

I think Nintendo could probably make a pretty good open world Mario Kart game after watching stuff like this, even if a spin-off like Forza Horizon is to Forza.
I just thought of a way to make exploration easier. Now, the most modding I've done in my life is try to copy and paste Sonic sprite files over existing ones (it didn't work...) so I don't know how possible this is but what if you could make it so you can glide up or forwards and not just down and you can activate the glider on command like how SwankyBox uses a mod to use the Red Star in SMG2 on command?
i feel like mario kart nine should have a bunch of corses like waluigi pinball and coconut mall and have battle mode equivalents like just the pinball erea and the actual mall, or maybe the wiggler portion of maple treeway
Please explore Wuhu Town. I'm curious to see how much of the island is modeled in Mario Kart 8 style. That way I can speculate if it's easy for the DLC team to create Maka Wuhu and Wuhu Loop so they can put it in the Booster Course Pack.
