I grew up in Davenport in the 60s on 15th and Gaines Street. I spent time at all these places. Many wonderful days at "a little bit of Heaven", "Mother Goose Land" and "Monkey Island". I watched fireworks at the Annie Wittenmeyer Home. Also swam in the pool downtown. I think it was called the "Lend a Hand" pool. I remember filling sandbags along the river. I think we were in a Sears store parking lot. My street was red brick. I would like to get info on "The Outing Club" . My great grandmother was a cook there. Most of my family is buried at Memorial Park in Davenport. I really enjoyed watching the series. So many good memories. Just curious... there was a very large brick house close to my house. My brother's friend lived there. His name was Casey Gaines. I believe his dad was the county official. is the house still there? Who was his father?
Tenth and Tremont on the east end by what used to be wonder bread, on top of the hill, i lived across from what they called an mental hosp. Now its rented out for weddings or what have you... i been in there. Its really cool!! Up the tower was amazing you could see there was more to the building than we were privy to and underneath!!!! Vibes come off of the area!!!!

It looks like Stubb's cave was completely leveled to make room for the Lindsay & Phelps mill according to this newspaper clipping: (www.newspapers.com/clip/29900844/stubbs-eddy-story-polished-boulder/) which would later become the Lindsay Park and Yacht Club. You can see that his cave was already long gone in the very upper-right corner of that 1888 map (www.loc.gov/resource/g4154d.pm002100/?r=0.872,0.141,0.117,0.078,0). It must have been a fairly drastic landmass to be compared to a Sugarloaf. The artist included some cliffs in the 1888 map that aren't there today so it must have leveled out even more over time.
I live south bottom of hill perfectly aligned with the sun rise n the st Katherine bell tower aligns with my back room window wich is aligned with the front room window where the sunsets on top perfectly aligned with my window the sidewalk.....i also have a basement with a triangular room by the dryer that says on door frame: "ABANDON ALL HOPE ALL YE WHO ENTER THESE PORTALS" inscription I found out is from Dante algerheri depiction of 9 gates of hell. I also have been on this room n my life sucks...i have dreams of underground... where I was the first here before any buildings just prararie I was alone for long time n then I turn around and 2 the 3 n 4 finally a whole gang following w by 2. Reminds me of the pic in thus vid in front of the farmer mounds.... we were celebrating n building in the dream singing then i realized was screams n then cries n we weren't building up we had been building down deep.. the I realized we were trapped a bunch of folks sum of the followers were looking down on us n pleased with out agonizing confusion. I try n try n try n try to escaped. I could not lucid dream after this... I had sleep paralysis often.. i dream of my house being the entrance to a large cavern often... I had a dream reoccurring of my fam at the beach murky water I think is the mississippi. Im a 6 or 7 n my cousins play on beach the adults go in one by one n dont return ...we play till dusk n i go to the water i open my eyes underwater to fund my parents n aunts n unks. In bear cages trapped ....i cannot get them out alone. And end of dream....i have more weird dreams and ghost stories 25 years almost living here. Im 31. i noticed there is something extremely screwy going on...even with WW2...however, i cant say it was all fake because my granpa was in the hitlers youth and shot down russian planes and they collected things from a plane one time.... so some of it was real..i know at least there were real russian planes and real german anti aircraft machines lollll..and hitlers youth was also real lolll
