Another odd thing about Romania you can do, which I don’t know how many people know you can do, is you can rename Staliningrad and Leningrad if you stay with the Royal dictatorship and keep Carol I, and towns are actually renamed after his mistresses.
The "Polish Question" event is a left over from the alpha version of the game. Before in the focus tree (it wasnt really a focus tree, more like a decision tab) you had a focus called, you guessed it "The Polish Question". When the focus ended you probably got the event you showed in the video. And also Because in alpha afaik there werent any war goals (you could declare war on anyone with no wargoals), you just got the political power probably as a placeholder? Im not sure.
All of this info i found in a hoi4 first gameplay footage by paradox. You can find it here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LxGNpPz_W2A.html . This video is a goldmine of unused stuff in hoi4. I suggest you make a video on it.
@@CrabHead501 Now that is something, thank you for bringing it up, never would've noticed otherwise. God though, if the Polish Question has been in the game since _Alpha_ it's probably the most forgotten event.
@@BubblesZest also that japanese event that you showed in the 1st part (the one with japan.t etc etc) could be very well a left over from alpha but thats just speculation
5:18 Seems like he is supposed to be Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester. However, looking at the wiki article on him, there is very little mention of him in Palestine. The only part of the article that even mentions the Middle East is this: "In early 1942 the King arranged a four-month-long military and diplomatic mission for the Duke to the Middle East, India, and East Africa The mission came just after Prince Henry had become a father for the first time, and it was considered a dangerous trip, as the Germans were rapidly advancing toward some of the territories the Duke would visit. The King even wrote to his sister-in-law that he would act as guardian of the newly-born Prince William if anything should happen to his brother." [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Henry,_Duke_of_Gloucester] I have no clue why Paradox decided to add his name and George's portrait as the leader of Non-Aligned Palestine, it's kinda stupid.
I heard in youtube sometime ago about Edward be send to Palestine, maybe the abdication crisis, and something like that, so it must be a meme, Edward being the new king sends henry to palestine? (I got nothing to back this theory, maybe someday I find the video again, sorry)
I'm wondering if maybe Prince Henry was supposed to be leading Australia in some planned Australia tree and it either got scrapped or left to collect dust and he somehow ended up in Palestine's coding.
In Australia's history file Earle Page is coded as the non-aligned leader of Australia but he gets overwritten by Rod Hull in the same file. Paradox seemed to have forgotten to disable Rod Hull
14:53 This event WAS used in the game, but it isnt anymore. It was probably related to a focus which banned communism or i could be entirely wrong. I saw it in taureor's older challenges (Poland 1939, somewhere at the beginning)
So from my reading of the Mexico event, Copper One pointed out it needs to be fired by something else, but it also seems that it has three different responses that you can get, mexico.57.a .b or .c. You can pick .a if you are Mexico or in the Mexican faction, you can pick .b if you are the Soviets, in the Soviet faction, or at war with Mexico, and you can pick .c if you are none of the above. I'd think that this means that this event isn't actually about Mexico and the Soviets being friendly, but rather a war between them. With the event picture, I'd probably hazard to guess it would be some sort of Trotsky speech against Stalin or Trotsky joining military service in the Mexican-Soviet war.
@@BubblesZest I didn't think that they'd get any different responses, in the localisation files it's pretty easy to clear out them all if you're only clearing out some. Just some musings on reading the code.
There's a funny one: one of the generic portraits for latin america generals is Dom Pedro II (Brazilian emperor until 1889). I have no idea why he has a portrait in the game since he died on 1891
What I find stranger is the inaccuracy of the British leaders at the time. It’s strange because you can change to republicans from democrats to USA but when Churchill is in power it’s only the conservatives when in reality it was a wartime emergency coalition between labour and conservative. As well as this, after the war, Churchill lost a landslide election to labour and its weird there’s no event for even switching out the parties when Attlee is in the game, as well as the modest man insult that Churchill gave him AFTER THE ELECTION. Also, Hitler should die when you take Berlin and he should be replaced by Karl donitz for historical accuracy
@@BubblesZest rt56 beta updated like 2 days ago and they actually made an iron guard branch, seems pretty trashy and unrealistic (talking about the civil war) but overall its nice that they ve actually added it
@@AdrianRO1918 Not a fan of RT56 tbh, but being unrealistic seems par for the course even in vanilla HOI4. Communist US tree anyone? I digress, having more options is great and especially if it's fun, which I hope it will be when it's done.
Didn’t paradox try making Egypt a puppet, but it would always blow the suez once war came due to it having low unit counts and the British ai doesn’t put units in Egypt
15:00 I remember seeing that event some time ago, also another called "France uses nuclear energy" or something like that, I think I saw it when the game was in its early stages, it was like on version 1.2 or something like that lol
@@BubblesZest the "France bans Communism" event was used before La Resistance. It fired After Germany and the Soviet Union announced the Moltov-Ribbentrop Pact. It gave the opportunity for France to ban Communism, like they did in real life in 1939, or to keep them as a legal party. The event that you showed was the International one
Indeed a lot of the supposed change in leadership in many countries aren't implemented properly. You can see the supposed leader if you choose 1939 which is kind of a bummer. Most South American countries have this problem, Paraguay being the worst example of them all. Other examples are Mongolia cannot get Khorloogin Choibalsan, Siam cannot get Plaek Phibunsongkhram (he is not even the Fascist party leader in 1936), and 1936 South Africa have no way of getting Jan Smuts.
Hes been around a few times, should be in _The Bell Tolls For Us_ guide I made, and I have seen Quisling many a time. But still I guess many havent. Neat.
So with that Mexico event, the triggers are only for the click away at the bottom, above there is says "is_triggered_only = yes" which means that it is (or at least would've been) something that occurred as a result of a focus tree, event chain, decision, etc. Basically it would only fire if given explicit orders to fire.
The Mexico 37 title reminds me of the same image used to tell Trotsky survived the hitman in Mexico event, I am leaning this event has to do with Mexico protecting Trotsky or something similar, like war against the USSR or something
I've had this in part one, so you should read the specific comments on it there to learn what's going on. But for the record no, they aren't related at all, these events are just similarly named.
I think the fort events are leftover from when they didn't actually have focus trees but had "goals" and the focuses replaced them but they left them in.
I'm from Romania and i can tell you what i think was the idea behind Corneliu Zelea Codreanu's portrait. At some point king Carol ask Codreanu to stage a coup d'etat along with him (yes, the royal dictatorship), if Codreanu accept it he will become the prime minister of Romania and Carol the chief of the Iron Guard. Codreanu refuse it and that's why Carol decide it to assasinate him. Now i think Paradox want to put an event or something like that, for exemple, if you chose to appoint a pro-axis government maybe you can trigger that where you can chose betwen Goga or Codreanu.
Check out Part 3 Here: bit.ly/3phkJRE The first part two weeks ago got an overwhelmingly good reception, honestly it's surprising just how well it's done. So with another in high demand we're doing another as there is more to unpack and find sorta deep in HOI4. Schedule for future videos: November 3th: Portugal Saves Republican Spain. (As voted on in the poll) As always though if you have any ideas for future videos, guides or anything of the sort do feel free to leave them below.
@@dobi2236 I've seen it, but those aren't all the achievements nor their details. So can't decide yet. Also I reckon that's a chinese achievement, hence the Tiger; What I believe it is if China reclaims it's old border with the USSR (Mongolia and Tannu Tuva) Either that or something even more complicated.
Only thing i want to know is how can J. B. Tito die, because if i remember right there was written "Tito hasnt been killed" or something like that when you were choosing him as chief of army (or what he is).
@@SpahGaming Bit of an insult to my toaster there dude. and Meme King It's a Blue snowball, generic sure but it's better than my older mic which was utter shit.
14:10 actually it was italy that had the biggest size of communist parties in europe after ww2 and wouldve become communist if the parties werent divided and if it wasnt for the intervention of the americans
