Often times Big Bend Ranch State Park gets overlooked because most of the spotlight is on its big brother - Big Bend National Park. Both are beautiful but the State Park holds something different and special we did not see in the National Park and that is the proximity of the mountains. Everything felt much closer making the beauty feel more obtainable. We did not end up hiking the 1.1-mile trail as it was getting late so instead, we walked around the hoodoos and enjoyed the scenery during sunset.
