What was the coolest part of this video? What would you like to see more of in a future video? Let me know down below in the comments. And don't forget to give this video a thumbs up! Thank you for watching and see you in the next video~
Great walking video with a lot of escalators and steps! I always get lost in Shibuya, so for my next visit to Shibuya, I’ll walk just the way you did in this video! Kudos to you and the young man for the good deed!
Thank you for this video. I really enjoyed it. I love that you talk as you walk, letting us know unusual things and things that are just a part of Japanese life.
Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I know there are many walking video channels showing Japan, but almost all of them don't feature any commentary so while the footage is great, there's no information about what you're seeing, the history, the cultural context, etc. Some people hate when I talk while walking, but those people can go enjoy other people's videos instead. hehehe See you in the next video!
Thumbs up for the elevator music 😄 I like the way you explore and explain things with your calm voice. Your videos come in very handy for my next trip to Japan, thanks a lot 😊
it is amazing how americans get amazed of how advanced asia in general is compared to america, is like going from a small town in the wild west to a real civilized city, nobody gets randomly killed here. and homeless are nowhere to be seen
thanks for the vid cory! random observation hehe, although its hot, do most japanese people not wear shorts? i see lots of pants still - or is it too early in the season still for them?
You're welcome, Rudi! Thank you for watching! Many Japanese do wear shorts, but it might still be early in the summer season. A lot of Japanese tend to follow the calendar season for their wardrobe, even if the outside temperatures don't match. For example, it's common to see everyone suddenly wear trench coats and winter clothing as soon as it's November 1st, because to them, that's the beginning of the winter season. It doesn't matter if it's still 20° and sunny outside or not. It's honestly a weird cultural phenomena to witness. They'll even turn off the AC and turn on heaters on the trains and inside of businesses because according to the calendar, it's "winter". South Korea has this same thing and it just baffles me how people will wear thick winter jackets and scarves, even on a bright sunny day that calls for shorts and a t-shirt. I think we'll see more shorts from June 1st. hahaha
You're welcome! Yeah, I found it funny that the Lego display included the construction site that has been there for many, many years. heheheh It's a long-standing eyesore in Shibuya. Thanks for watching, Simon!
Very cool walking tour. I loved this video. There was lots of cool stuff to see - the view of the Shibuya Scramble from above, the underground stores, all the different shops & restaurants around the area, and that cool rooftop garden. It's very nice to see there are some green spaces in Tokyo. It felt like a lot to take in since I had only see the Shibuya Scramble depicted in anime before. I would love to visit the area some time even though I think I might feel a bit overwhelmed. Great job, as usual Cory.
your channel is very good compared to other similar walking tour , since you also give explanation for the locations along with your walk, thanks a lot, just subscribed.
Enjoyed seeing Shibuya now. Last time I was in Japan was in 2017. It was July and so hot! Summer in Japan is no joke. I liked the energy in Shibuya. Hopefully, I can go back in the near future. Also, I’m so glad it’s not a live one. We’re able to see the video clearly. Thanks for the video.
PARCO、懐かしいね!Used to go there when I when to school. Definitely correct that is the kind of place where a t-shirt easily costs 10,000 yen. Mostly we went just to look. Occasionally somebody would buy something they had saved up for. I am sure we all could have spent our money more wisely, lol.
The moving stair art probably looks magical at night. I saw umbrellas , rain and random shapes in the design at one point and that matches the shapes on the floor after you get to the top and the umbrellas WITH shapes on them up in the ceiling! That place just seemed fun and the string of shops was nice. I saw the onigiri and miss onigiri. I just don't make them quite right at home T_T I wonder why they chose to have it darker within the building? The elevated view from the google building ...wonder what it looks like at night? Great timing on the scramble filming and seeing the trains from that view was great! I was in Shibuya for my first trip to Japan on purpose and was with a friend as we just walked around, got lost, watched folks and enjoyed our time. My second time in Japan I stopped there to pay respect to the Hachiko statue and went on my way. We also saw a lot of the loud song trucks there haha!
Yeah! I am never in Shibuya area, especially at night. I'm sure it's a very nice place to film a night walk video! I'll have to find a day that I can do that. I really want to make more night walking videos around Tokyo. It's definitely amazing. Sounds like a good and memorable time for you in Shibuya! It's pretty far from where I live, so that's why I never go that far south in Tokyo. I tend to stick to the central and northern areas more. Thanks again for watching and commenting, Brooke!
Love your channel .Right now Tokyo is different world. Also most populated city of the world took ovet from Mexico city .Watching walks from Shibuya i know what now on netflix . Abosolutely fantastic .Cheers from 4k Poland .👍🖐👍🙋♂️
Your videos reminds me of the black and white historical ones where they film the street and people walking around. It's amazing to see how busy the streets are.
These sunny-day streaming are the best.......However, only 1 hour long? I barely get the time to settle in and get in the groove.....Anyways, awesome walks.
This wasn't a live stream walking video. It was prerecorded, then during the weekly premiere, me and viewers watch the video together and live chat about it. So that's why it's only 1 hour. My walking live streams are 3 hours. My normal videos are around 1 hour, usually. But yeah, thanks for watching! See you in the next video.
Ivé been in Japan and Tokyo twice, the last time me and my girlfriend stayed at a hotel very close to the "google-house", further down the canal. Visiting Japan was one of my biggest dreams that trip was one best I have made so far so this video brings back very nice memories:)
Oh nice! I'm glad my video could help you revisit the amazing Shibuya area. I want to go back and make several videos there since there's so much to see. I missed a lot of places in this video. Anyways, thanks for watching and stay tuned for more!
You're welcome! Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment, too! I give my tours as if you were with me, so it's just how I talk normally. hehehe Everyone can be my friend!
All of my non-live streams are filmed on a DJI Pocket 2. It didn't auto-focus at the beginning because I was in the shade, and the background was brighter so it focused on that for just a few seconds. Usually the auto-focus feature for the Pocket 2 is very responsive and accurate. Thanks for watching!
Awesome walk around Cory have you ever been to the Universal studios there? if you do go there maybe you can show us around and see what it's like there from your point of view keep up the great work with these videos🆒🆒🆒🆒👍👍👍👍👍👍
I haven't been to USJ yet. It's not in Tokyo. It's in Osaka. So I'd have to take a bullet train or fly to go visit that place. If I ever go one day, hopefully I can film a video there. Thanks for watching and commenting!
