If you haven't seen the MAIN 1 Million Second video yet..... You're missing out!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FhWbhTn0aB4.html Let me know what you thought below!
My friend you need to invest in a good pair of hiking boots- I think I’ve seen you slip once in each of the last three videos I’ve seen. Don’t want you to hurt yourself! 🙏
That is the definition of this channel, exploring Rural Japan. And Jay walking Rural Japan. And falling down in Rural Japan. 😂😂😂😂 I can't wait to see what happens and see how quickly I can get a bingo. Lol
I bicycled through the Iya Valley last month. Didn't realize till now that I was so close to the abandoned schoolhouse. I remember stopping at that blue bridge by the power station and taking pictures of the houses along the river. Was an amazing ride through the valley.
It was the weirdest thing, but while watching this I swear that I could smell rain. Considering that I live in the Sonoran Desert and it was 106F today with 5% humidity, *no,* no rain. But I thought I did, over and over and over again. Thank you for giving me the rain and the mist and the river for a little while; this was just beautiful.
Rainy foggy splendor will always be my favorite view of the various valleys of Japan. The light grey of cloud cover and fog makes the green seem more vibrant and really stand out. As always, thank you!
The mist, the rainfall, the birdsong and the moss...They all made for a very atmospheric, beautiful walk. But I'm still so sorry that you slipped on these evil stairs D:
Shikoku breathes and fills my soul with absolute peace. Absolutely gorgeous atmosphere, rain or shine. Can't believe how muddy the river is with all the rain. Blessed to have seen it in the sun last spring. Thank you for this restorative stroll. 💜✌️🐦 PS had absolute fun with the chat during the premiere, too
You talking about your first trip in 2005 made me SOOO nostalgic about the times we didn't have smartphones and had to use actual maps and such. My last trip to Japan was in 2011 and back then a smartphone wasn't as widely adopted so I didn't have a smartphone but the following year I did and everything changed permanently in my travels after that. But I will still hold onto my dearest memories of having to navigate Tokyo with a map it was so damn fun. Also no google reviews for places to eat, you just had to get lucky walking into a place or had to get a recommendation from a local. Anyways, thanks Norm for your stories!
Awesome video as always Norm. Your walking videos are some of the most inspiring and amazing videos on RU-vid you really captured the essence and beauty of Japan 🇯🇵. Thanks for letting us ride along with you on your adventures around Japan 🇯🇵.
Loved hearing your story of your first time in japan. Sometimes it's nice to have a story to zone out to while taking in the sites. Really appreciate it. Thanks for the upload!
I cannot express how much gratitude I have for you taking the time to make these amazing videos and the love and passion you put in each and everyone of them. In my language we say "Danki" (Thank you)🙏🏼👍🏼Greetings from Aruba.
I have just found you this month, September 2024, and just love your walking adventure. I never knew Japan was such a beautiful country. Thank you so much. Peace ✌🏾
Congrats with 100k, thank you for the amazing content and the amazing 1 mil seconds adventure. Also thank you for your adventuring spirit, it is slowly rubbing off of me and changing how I perceive the area around me. I hope to be able to walk there between the mountains (if I'm able to, in the morning. The mist, aaah the mist)
As always, it was beautiful and relaxing to enjoy this rainy walk with you. I've totally alreayd started saving for the most epic Hokkaido campervan trip with K Squared
Whenever I travel and stay at hotels in different states in America I call the front desk and set up a wakeup call so I'd have time to get up and be ready before check out at the end of the week. I also believe there would be a boat dock on the river down those steps you showed us.
I was not expecting the slip and fall. that... that really got me good. I jumped in my seat from that. glad you are okay. EDIT: oh try to get some YakTrax for a quick slip on for stairs and ice.
This was so fun to watch Norm ! Always wondered what the area or what village was near the school would be like. Thanks for always taking us along your adventures !
i love how there are no cuts in the video. it feels like im walking along with you (especially with listening to your stories!) this is such an amazing channel ive come across and i love this type of content, thank you!
thank you Norm for sharing 👍 Absolutely stunning walk. it's a shame those hiking trails are so over grown. b safe take care Norm. luv from the uk 🇬🇧👍❤️❤️
No, no - Thank YOU! This was indeed a glorious walk, and so VERY beautiful; it's ideal for me, because I love a walk through wooded areas with a light rain. It just does something healing for my soul every time... so this is voyeuristic shin rin yoku at it's best! 😊
One of the best, most scenic walks you've done Norm, just beautiful! This type of scenery is why I fell in love with Japan. I hope to get back there one day and find these gorgeous places you have shown us. Thanks and take care. TJ ... BTW I think your gimbal is dying??
I love your videos! There is a woman who does similar but without commentary, you give us a glimpse into the daily and historic aspects. Keep doing your thing, you have earned a new sub
Very much love this walk thank you Norm. Walking one hour straight in the rural where is no bus, I just wondering did you park the car on the next village?
The place looks nice and peaceful but it's still nice to see vehicles going through the area cause it doesn't seem like you're completely alone even when you don't see people around. There's really something different when the weather is rainy so it's awesome you made this video when the weather is like that. The curious and gamer part of me wants to know where all of the stairs you passed by leads to. There was so many of them and you can't see where they end! I'm also curious about the tunnel but th longer path is nicer and just gives a bit more adventurous vibes so it's a better choice. Watching this makes me wish I could also just walk around places outside lol.
Have y'all seen the videos of the story of Norm's first trip to Sapporo? It's so amazing to see how more confident he is now. Norm, thank you for continuing to document your experiences. It's been amazing to see your journey.
Really great video! I actually live fairly close to there actually and it's such a beautiful place to drive though. The mountains of Shikoku have honestly been so unexpectedly beautiful. You should check out Mt. Ishizuchi if you haven't already 😁
So jealous Norm! About 15 years ago , I used to watch RU-vid videos of a foreigner in Japan film his walks through rural Japan and mountainside villages.. I’ve since then always wanted to visit Japan so I could do the exact same thing ! (Haven’t made it there yet but hopefully someday soon)
My Son is currently in BC working in the bush as a geophysics assistant. I told him to watch out for bears and he said they have multiple bear bangers and lots of bear spray; I was thinking about when I lived in bear country in Northern Ontario 🇨🇦 I'm going to watch this when I crawl into bed and I can't wait.
I always wonder how many people live on that village near the abandoned school, because as you can see even when there are so many houses some of them does look abandoned like caved in roof or overgrown near the entrance or even like moldy appliances outside of the houses
