EXPLORING KEFALONIA GREECE by CAR - Antisamos, Lassi & Lourdas beach after HURRICANE IANOS
In this video we drive around the island of Kefalonia in our little Fiat Panda hire car, the day definitely didn't go as planned as we hoped for a relaxing beach day but we had a day of exploring instead. We start at Sami beach and Myrtos Bay which were both badly affected by hurricane Ianos in September 2020 but both still look beautiful despite the damage. The weather begins to change a bit on that side of the island so we head South and stop off to check out Lassi beach where we find a beautiful little cat while we’re there. We finish the day at Lourdes beach where we go for a refreshing end of day swim and find a few inquisitive fish!

So sorry your beach day turned into more of a hurricane destruction tour, but it was very interesting to see the aftermath of the hurricane and the power of mother nature. That overlook of Myrtos Bay was absolutely stunning. We were so happy that you still managed to get some quality beach and snorkeling time in. Also loved the swing chair, by far the prettiest we've ever seen 😄

It was crazy seeing the aftermath. Luckily we had plenty of time for some more beach days, we were so lucky to live in that apartment for almost a month with Lourdas beach just down the hill☀️🏝

That poor little beach bar! How sad! The beach is still gorgeous though! Wow those yachts got hit hard too! So much damage! Way to stay positive though and finally reach a lovely beach! Worth it!

So much of the scenery reminded me of Hawaii! It's crazy seeing all the damage done by the hurricane especially those 2 yachts and the beach bar. On top of that, it's sad seeing all the hotels closed because of the pandemic. At least you guys were able to go snorkeling at the end...I loved the underwater footage!

Well ‘mix of beaches’ day!!! Great to see them but so sad to see such damage on the island! View down to Myrtos Bay was beautiful, supposed to be the most photographed beach, look forward to seeing more! Beautifully clear sea & glad some Fish appeared for you! Well so pleased you got to the beach & in the sea in the end! FAB! PS- waves almost got you Craig!!!🤣

It's such a beautiful island. So sad to see how much damage the hurricane did and hopefully they were able to repair things quickly. You guys were very dedicated to finding a beach. Those smoothies looked so yummy, and that swing chair was pretty. The snorkeling looked fun!!

Such beautiful sceneries, the beaches are so nice over there. Aegean Sea is so beautiful. Wind is so strong up there, it's crazy. Aww what a cute cafe with the pink swing 😍 nice underwater shots! 🤗

Travel Interesante : Eptanisa (literally meaning seven islands) ,that is Kerkyra (CORFU) ,Zakinthos (ZANTE) ,Lefkada , Ithaki (ITHAKA) ,Kefalonia ,Kithyra and Paxoi (and some smaller islands) are on the Ionian Sea (the ...west coast of Greece).

What a beautiful island! So sad about the hurricane damage! Must be weird to see that hotel from Craig’s childhood, so empty and ghost-town like! I’m sure it must be so dreamy in peak conditions. The weather wasn’t great, but you still made the most of the day and showed us all those beaches 😁 Love that cafe and the pretty swing seat 🥰 Glad that You guys finally got to make use of the snorkels at the end 😅 the water is soooo clear 💙

We can't actually believe how crazy the hurricane was until you've now showed us the devastation it's caused. But we so glad that you went to explore. Mytros bay looks absolutely beautiful such a pitty you couldn't go down and see it. We sorry you the day didn't go to plan but it was interesting to see how the hurricane wreck havoc outside cause we saw what happened from inside from your perspective Hahaha you guys were so persistent to go into the sea, my type of people hehe. Love the footage you got underwater. The footage of your guys swimming was by far my fav.

Yeh it was a pretty devastating hurricane, it wiped out cars and buildings. We were adamant about getting a bit of time on the beach! 😂

Wow, so sad to see so much damage from the hurricane across the island ☹ Mud slides are no joke. I feel horrible for the people living their having to pick up their towns after such destruction. Glad you were at least able to see some beautiful views on your drive! What a pretty island

We felt so bad for them seeing their businesses hit by a pandemic and then the hurricane. We supported as many local businesses as we could during our stay but so many were damaged so badly they won’t be open for a long time😢
