Great video I was there 4 years ago and it's still my favourite holiday ever . The island is stunning, and the culture is amazing and I'm definitely going to go back.
One more tip. A hike to its biggest mountain is a must as it hosts one the two rarest forest's in Greece with Abies Cephalonnica trees (spruces) which is indigenous to the area. It also is the home of a indigenous breed of horses and to a wild goats race like the Cretan Kri-Kri's.
@@micha7941it's called Mount Ainos or Mount Aenos. Go there you'll not regret. Kefalonia is one of the most underrated islands in Greece and my favorite.
@@micha7941 I think they get around a monastery near the mountain because the monks let them drink water. Not 100% sure about it though. Better find a local guide in Argostoli ( there are many) and ask them to go them and also tour you to the mountain. It's we'll spend money a tour with them as they know all the trails unknown to many and surely you will left astounded by the views.
@@RU-vid-Seany_Boyy_ You are very welcome to Piter( as we name the city)) And Spring is the best time, now nearly no night at all! And the weather is fine, today is abt 20, sun and warm) And abt Kefalonia, now it's difficult to get there FM Russia, but I hope once I will be back))) The Petani beach is in my night dreams always))
@@going_to_the_river_Neva thank you! One day soon I hope I will come! And make a video about Saint Petersburg 😎🙌🏻 🇷🇺 I hope you can travel again soon, don’t worry though. Kefalonia isn’t going anywhere 😊
Going in July to Scala. I wish you had recommended some places to eat though as we are b and b so will be eating out at night. We were going to try the private day tour which seems to fit in lots of the places. You didnt mention the Drogarati caves, they are supposed to be amazing too. Also weve been told there are ysually queues of up to 2 hours waiting to see the lake in Peak season so make sure to leave enough time, especially if you have to return to a cruise ship!
Seany Boyy , you forgot one beautiful , small , cozy , and colourful port , named " Fiskardo " at North kefallonia , full of sailboats !!!! It was not necessary you mention the " Navagio " which belongs to Zakynthos !!!
2 earthquakes in a week is crazy! I have spent over 50 weeks there and have only experienced one, which was so little I didn’t know it was one until I was told after!
Oh wow, maybe we just got unlucky then. The host of our accommodation didn’t notice the earthquakes either. Probably because she’s just used to them, but we definitely noticed. Was like the shaking bed scene from The Exorcist 😆
@@RU-vid-Seany_Boyy_ in fact if it doesn't shake for awhile the locals are getting more and more worried as time goes by. They welcome the frequent small earthquakes as it's energy being unleashed preventing the build up of huge amounts of energy that could result to giant earthquakes.
Good Video!!! Thank you ❤ When were you there? Which Month? And What time? First? Middle? End of the month??? May? July? January? October? September??? 💙🏛 🇬🇷
Hey there! Greek from Canada looking to plan a Kefalonia trip for 2024. Can you let me know which company you used to rent your car? And which car worked best for you? Planning on doing your entire itinerary honestly, made it quite easy for me :)
Hello, I actually had my own car with me as I drove from the UK. I done abit of a European trip that summer. However my brother rented a car in kefalonia and used travelsupermarket.com I hope that helps and I hope you enjoy kefalonia as much as we did! It’s a beautiful island
Thank you, hope it was helpful 😊 We didn’t pre book the wine tasting, we just turned up on the day. The boat trip we booked online before we went to ensure a spot on the trip as it’s a popular one 😊👍🏻
@@RU-vid-Seany_Boyy_ it was very helpful. I went to the boat tour website and sent an inquiry. They responded asking for our passport numbers, did you have to provide that info as well? Just trying to stay safe.
Thank you so much for the video! It came just in time. I was not sure where to go in mid september corfu or kefalonia. You made my choice easy and I am looking forward to the trip! Did you stay in one place and travel around or several different apartements?
Out of the Two islands, Kefalonia is my favourite. September is a good month to visit Kefalonia. The weather is still good but the island is more quite. We stayed in one place but we had a car. You will 100% need transport while your out there. Public transport & Taxis are pretty much non existent 😆
It is but you would be heavily relying on taxis which are pretty scarce on the island. I personally strongly recommend hiring your own transport. You’ll save money & have the freedom to travel around as & when you like 🙂👍🏻
Can i use this video on my website, please?I am a rent a car business owner in Kefalonia and i find this video ideal for people who want to visit and wish to get recomendations about the island.
Of course that would be fantastic because people send me messages all the time about renting cars in kefalonia. If you give me your web address I’ll link it in the video details 🙂👍🏻
Apparently there are no longer motorbikes available to hire near the airport. Cars only. I found out the hard way after walking just over 1km in 35 degree heat to be told the sign i followed is old and i will need to travel much further for a motorbike
The author has never been there, that’s obvious. That said, Kefonlia is a gem, unspoilt and original. Please don’t change it. Bars and night life are NOT required for a great experience of true culture, if that’s what you need, then go elsewhere.
Hello, umm April probably won’t be that warm. The sea definitely won’t be warm enough to go for a swim. If you can’t visit during the summer season I would suggest you visit after rather than before. So September & October will still be warm & good weather 🙂👍🏻
@@RU-vid-Seany_Boyy_ hello, we actually trying to go when it’s not too not ! but also wanna make sure at least in April is pleasant and no rain? we can definitely view the beaty of beaches just not swim
@@m.o.6303 Yeah, obviously the longer you can spend there the more you’ll be able to do. If you can only do 4 days just prioritise the things you want to do as you wont be able to do everything in 4 days
Was there a few weeks ago on NCL cruise ship. Would want to explore Argostoli further but cruise ship times would not allow. We did go to Sami which was pleasant. We r from US Virginia.
Seriously don’t think this guy has been to the same Kefakonia ? 😂😂😂 Taxis are available at nights !! And there are car hire places and quad bike hire everywhere !!!! Also the taxis aren’t very expensive at all !!!
