Great shots of the water. I would return to these places every season when I lived in Jersey. Love the rhododendrons, ruins, locks, waterfalls, cisterns, and tunnels. So much. And then return when the reading and northern steam locomotive goes through the southern section.

I’ve been wanting to visit this place so bad, it’s on my list twice! Who knows when I’ll make it out there, but hopefully soon. That rail trail looks like it would be a fun scenic ride! That buttermilk falls is really unique, unlike its name, which is used to describe 1 in about every 10 waterfalls… Great video as always, thanks for showing off Scenic Pennsylvania!

Yea, so whats up with the "buttermilk falls" thing anyway?! Thats probably worth investigating in its own right, lol. Riding the train through the gorge in the snow, I think that would be awesome. I definitely think the Lehigh Gorge is one of those places in Pennsylvania that really flies under the radar for whatever reason maybe because access points are limited? Idk but it has alittle bit of everything going on there.

Lehigh Gorge SP is chock full of natural wonders and just a few you scratched the surface on. Visited that exact area, mine, and falls several years ago. Funny I ran into a local who also explained that the falls i.e. Buttermilk are popular for ice climbing. He was doing the rail trail as part of his weekly routine and highly recommended for any biking enthusiasts. So much more to explore and hope you get the opportunity to do that and film in the future. I’m far from a skeptic as I’ve read, researched, and listened to hundreds of eyewitness testimony of Bigfoot encounters and that shot checked off all the boxes of what people describe in their encounters: sighting near a cave or mine, peaking behavior, quickly ducking away before being seen, and coming up behind the person. Could this have been someone? Sure. But that was an interesting and bulky profile, conical head, and odd behavior for someone who was curious about the cave in a public park right off a road to the parking lot below to be that skittish. Keep rambling brother and stay curious!

I feel like this was one of your most well put together videos. You gave a lot of great information here. I missed a few of these sights when I was here only because I was pressed for time. I was looking for the tunnel you showed in the beginning but got it confused with another tunnel in the area. You also had better luck at buttermilk falls than I did. I remember seeing two half naked dudes using it as their own personal pool. It was kind of uncomfortable trying to film the waterfall with them there. I’m glad the Ranger was nearby because she told them to get out. A job well done. 👍

Always appreciate your feedback and critical eye Craig. I basically spent about 5 hours filming a location that covered less than a mile. This allowed me to really take my time, I tend to think locations like these work out better for me. And the reality is there was one point of interest after another which always helps with a video. Once I got home I began digging deeper into some of the history of the place too, and I tried to add just alittle of that into the video.

When I worked for Pocono Whitewater as a mountain bike guide back in the early 90s, Rockport was considered roughly the halfway point from White Haven, then the beginning of the Lehigh Gorge trail, now the D & L Trail. That upper half of the Gorge is far more shaded than the lower half. So, many biking groups would have us take them out there after being dropped off in White Haven. Funny, I never did that loop either. I've been on the other side many times going to Buzzard's Point and Tank Hollow in Game Lands 141. That whole area is so beautiful. Really nice job touring this section of the Gorge. Thanks for taking us along. Have a great weekend!

Sounds just like human nature to bite off more than one can chew, especially tourist types! When I did Tank Hollow Vista a few years ago, I made my way down to river level via a faint foot path. I then headed up river to Stony Creek where I encountered a thickly walled but small building looked like concrete or some type of masonry just below Stony Creek falls a few hundred yards above the river. Are you familiar with that building and do you know what it was?
@charliejg

@@WALTERZOLNA Yeah, I think we talked about that before. That trail down is really sketchy. I don't know off the top of my head, but I know people in Unionville that probably do. X files was probably my favorite tv show of my teen years and I always took note of how they used flashlights and the juxtaposition of darkness and a small light source to create and build tension, its a great shot set up, with the camera in front and slowly walking forward. The two small caves where only feet apart, and I thought there was even another one a bit up the hill above those two but I didn't climb to check it out.
