The orange trees in public space are basically for decoration. They are not of the normal orchard varieties; although they are edible they are usually very sour. Local authorities don't plant sour varieties out of wickedness though, they do it because those are wild varieties that don't need much maintenance, and are more resistant to urban environments (pollution, people, etc). You can pick the oranges and eat them but you'll regret the experience.
Putting the fun back in funky guys!! My dad is an electrician so I want to take him to the electrical museum and the MAAT museum sure has a great view! A few of my favorites are...Arte Antiga museum where you can see them repairing the chapel destroyed in the earthquake. Calouste Gulbenkian gallery which has one of the largest private collections and is fabulous!! The coach and tile museums are cool too! Lisboa is full of incredible museums and everything else!! ❤Portugal and you two are funny!!
@@antoniof9756 I don’t like to spend much time in museums on trips. I’d rather meet people at cafes and pubs. I usually save museums for rainy days or subsequent trips. But, these both looked very cool. 😃
Please do! Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment! I love cafes and pubs, so a day in museums was enlightening to me. It was fun! - Michael
Awesome!!!! Your storytelling is getting superb, love the jingle, not so much the dad jokes lol. Really cool stuff, I'm buying tickets to Lisbon Tomorrow, or some time soon enough :)
That area is probably the one with most museums and monuments in Lisbon. The distance between MAAT and the CCB (Centro Cultural de Belém) is about 1,4 km (less than a mile), but there are over a dozen museums and monuments to see.
Came to learn about some Lisbon museums, stayed for the Dad jokes! Hmmmm....maybe not. :) Definitely stayed because I love watching the two of you explore cool places and tell me all about them. Melissa is my spirit sister! Every time I was about to say something, (insert "The Power Station" and start singing some like it hot, I dream of Jeannie and Major Nelson, Mr. Potato Head) Melissa said it first! Gen Xers for the win! LOL When looking at that long, red bridge do you ever get San Francisco vibes? I can't wait to check out Lisbon!
Thanks Amy! Gotta love the middle aged brain though. I could not think of Major Nelson only the actor who played him on tv. Lol 🤦🏼♀️ Can’t wait to show you all the cool places in person!!
Thanks for the video, pity you guys don't post more often, but we understand how time consuming it can be to record & edit. The last museum seems quite interesting.
We are gonna try. We love doing it, but sometimes we just need to unplug and enjoy what this country offers. We will be back with more video very soon! Really appreciate you watching, and please subscribe if you already haven't and hit the notification bell, so you get reminded when we do. Take care Sergio!
@@Tourabunga Hi Michael & Melissa, I really enjoyed ur interview w/ Expat Everywhere. To make the most of your stay in Portugal and if you haven't done so, you guys should rent a car for few days, drive around. The summer holidays are kinda over, go to the Algarve, hotel accommodation should start to be cheaper...
We bought 3 backpacks from Wandrd. (no "E"), and they are the original Prvke editions. 21 and 31L I believe. The one in the video is the smaller one, 21.- eu.wandrd.com/collections/prvke-collection/products/original-prvke
You guys were really entertaining ,much more than the museum experience at the Maat. Starting from Duchamp urinal as a art object to Andy Warhol's non sense , which has fetched tremendous amount of useless monies, we are experiencing a movement deconstruction of art and its beauty. The sign that Michael pointed out twice in the video sums up the decadence of real art in general. I really liked your criticism of it, it was plain and subtle at the same time. BTW, your wry sense of humor is a breath of fresh air in this cattle thinking , conforming world. Kudos, mate.
Hi Paulo Thanks so much for watching a video about museums. Lol! Not an easy topic to cover without coloring your curiosity with humor. Good to know that you “get” us! We hope you will stick around. Your perspective is always welcome and appreciated!
HA HA HA! I was really nervous posting this video, it's our first video without any food. But I wanted to get something up. We will have another episode of It's delish coming out, when I'm not sure, we got a few others planned. But yes we are always hungry! Ha Ha Ha LOL! 🤣🤣🤣🤣! Thank you for watching!
