Wow, this wasnt what I expected! Great to see other parts of the island. It has a lot of stuff there and somehow seems spooky or just sort of...different. i assume it felt fine though. Cool place!
Can I just ask, did someone tell you that this stones were for weighing down smuggled goods? Because I assure you the size of those would NOT hold down smuggled goods. They look more like old mooring weights for a row boat… perhaps dating back to when the church was there. The island itself was used to hide the smuggled goods I know that, but have never heard of it being in the water below the surface just off looe island.
The guide sheets said about them being used for hiding smugglers goods. Suppose they could have got it wrong? We've since found some real smuggling tunnels and hope to explore them further. One needs to be drained first as it's flooded.
StreetZips yes I was down on the beach yesterday and I should be all week and I am going Mackrell fishing later this week this is my 8th year coming to looe and I love this place
Ah I literally just had last week off work, I'm back today. There might be an explore in the week on evening - I'll see what the team have got planned.
