You have done a great Job. The buildings are not abandoned . The timing was not right. Sunday most places are closed and also ppl don’t walk during day time specially noon to 5ish. During these hours they are at beach. You will see ppl after 5 and evenings. When the sun set because it’s hot. Well hope you enjoyed it. Next time get a guide that tells you the history of the tanks and the buildings. A lot of history in Massawa those building are very old built by Turkish over 200 years or so if I’m not mistaken. lots to tell in massawa .do your research . Well done

Hi bro, great that you are visiting our beautiful massawa, but I would like to advice you to put different colthes what feers to the weathee, exampl summer clothes and summer hut. Enjoy to be in Eritrea.

In this season it's very hot (around 40-50°C), it's Sunday so most people are at church, he also went out at 9 am. In the mornings people stay at home until 5 pm, because then it's not as hot as it is around noon. Massawa was a city almost completely ruined because of the war and most houses and buildings have not been rebuilt. I also think that he walked in the old part of the city, which could explain why it looked so dead.
Trip to massawa on the month of june, july and august is not preferable coz those months are hottest seasons. People start to walk on the stret from 5:00 pm to the whole night
It is very very Hot during the day most people go outside on the evening after sunset. During the day whoever working is at work, in the house or at the beach.
