We traveled to and explored the fascinating city of Rabat, Morocco - the nation's capital. Rabat is strategically located on the Atlantic near the entrance of the Mediterranean sea, and therefore was a hotspot for pirates in the 16-19th century. I was pleasantly suprised by Rabat, and I hope you will be too! Part 2 coming... The craziest video of the whole Morocco series.. Stay tuned!

Adventure Elliot is a bilingual travel vlogger (English and Spanish) with a particular interest in the Spanish speaking world. I enjoy taking adventures - big or small - and my goal is to show the Spanish speaking world 1 video at a time.
The goal of my channel is simple yet complex: I want to document and share authentic & educational content of anything related to Adventure Travel, Geography, & Language in the Spanish-speaking world. It's kind of a loaded topic, but it allows me to never exhaust my creative outlets. The truth is, I've always been extremely passionate about what I'm doing on my channel, but I never properly documented it when I started adventuring as a younger man in my college years. I've made over 150 RU-vid videos in both English and Spanish, and I have aspirations to make 1000s more. If that sounds interesting to you, join the community and follow me along the way.. After all, we're just getting started.

Why you keep saying like the city's are made by colonization man it's like denying that we were a great nation , Morocco occupied like half of Europe andalusia for 800 years and that's a fact when you go back to spain and start walking around there and talking about there city's heritage u have to mention that we've been there for along period n that the architecture there was made by moroccan what about dat i dont know about ur attention but i perfer that you state facts rather than false informations , n welcome to Morocco n enjoy ur trip

FYI, Morocco was an empire itself during the Almoravids & Almohades dynasties before any spanish or portuguese or french states existing, those medieval walls, gates, schools, mosques, old medinas...are built according to the moroccan moorish architecture, and ottomans never succeeded to conquer the actual moroccan territories apart from the west region of nowadays algeria that used to be part of the moroccan empire. P.S: the map of Morocco can not be divided that way, western sahara is unarguably part of the moroccan sovereignty.

5:50 Do not forget before France occupied Morocco before it came under protection. Morocco was occupying half of Europe and built the Andalusian civilization, and Morocco is the only Arab country that was not subject to the rule of the Ottomans. The Ottomans were defeated in the Battle of Wadi al-Laban in March and April of 1558 AD Here we are talking about a Moroccan empire, which is the oldest monarchy on earth after Japan Try to verify the information before publishing it, as there are those who are ignorant of the ancient history of Morocco. I love the way you work professionally with regard to the annoying people who approach every person carrying a camera or a tourist. We, as Moroccans, strongly condemn this and demand that the security forces punish them. I advise you to attend the football match on Sunday at the Rabat stadium at 8 pm with the terrifying supporters of the capital It will be a great experience for you

That wasn't a Tajine you ate there at the restaurant lol. It was more like mashed potatoes, cheese and fries, not a traditional Moroccan dish. You could probably recognize a real tajine if you looked it up on google, but it's usually served in an earthenware pot with a low base also named "Tajine" that has either slow cooked meat, chicken or fish and a variety of vegetables and seasonings surrounding and on top of it. It's quite tasty at the hands of the right chef, you should try it out in another restaurant!

Scammers in Morocco typically try to cheat tourists with the saying: 'you cannot go here/there as only Muslim people are allowed' - or - 'there's a mosque up there, you can't get closer as you're not Muslim person'... Classic, common approach towards foreigners, though rarely violent. Being assertive and self-confident usually do the trick. At the beginning that was a bit stressful to me, yet after few days I turned into an expert with repelling such people LOL😀

I like the set-up of the Moroccan Markets. All of these Mediterranian, European, African, and Asian concepts still exist today and are very much traditionally alive in New York City. The traditional Italian and Italian American stores have their fruits and veggies on display outside their stores as well as the Hispanic markets. Chinatown in Manhattan is very similar to Morocco because of the many little streets and alleyways that occupy the sidewalks with many vendors and the spices and ingredients are galore. Africans set up shop outside with many blankets or tarps on the sidewalk to sell items. Middle Easterns have food carts. Italians, Jews, and Hispanics have fruit, vegetables, and spice stands outside their immediate stores along with the Chinese. It's funny when one leaves the city limits of NYC, (5 Boros) because the minute you're outside the city limits albeit in New Jersey, Westchester County, or Nassau County, (Long Island) things won't resemble NYC. They will resemble the rest of America. Hardly no outside stands to sell items, no street carts or vendors with the exception of a flea market or garage sale here and there. Many times... you won't see parallel parking in the streets or small businesses because everything is like Middle America, where one drives on a state/county road and pulls into a mall/shopping center, and there's parking. Maybe the local town squares or civic centers have a few stores with parallel metered street parking. But that is a different story, and it's called: "Small Town America". LOL. My girlfriend is from Long Island and grew up in Rural Pennsylvania and in farmland Upstate, New York. When I took her to NYC, she almost fainted because she couldn't keep up with the fast pace of life. She asks me if this is still America and if this is common? I told her that this city has been around like this with merchants and immigrants since before the American Revolutionary War. I told her before she travels anywhere in the world, go and visit certain ethnic communities in NYC and learn the customs because many of these people are directly from those lands and it's a good preparation to expect what you'll experience when you travel. The Downtown and Midtown sections of NYC are professional areas limited to a few street vending carts because of the policies that it's to be kept professional and stores would lose business to most street vendors. Outside of the financial and business centers, the ethnic neighborhoods begin and that's where the laws and zoning restrictions are lax. So the fun begins. Street vendors, closed off streets for festivals, (Block Parties), and all types of characters and weird things that go on all hours of the day and night.

You are welcome brother, you should know that morocco is among the most ancient civilizations as it's history extends back to fifteen centuries.

Those hustlers do that to the locals as well, especially, when they sense you're not from the city and that's normal and not engaging with them as you did is the way to go that's normal i hate when tourists complain about that like it's nit the case everywhere else , and as you said we would love to get rid of the agressive ones as they give a negative image , glad you enjoyed your trip in Our Beloved Morocco 🇲🇦

Its to touristic, there's many other places that would be better. Essaouira, guelmim for example.

@@haZaaal that's what I'm talking about, its the last place I'd want to go in Morocco. I've been there 4 times and last time I stayed for 3 months. Marrakech was to hectic and people are to pushy and a lot of scaming unfortunately.
