Thank you for commenting and watching! Mukilteo is a beautiful community and even if you don't live in Mukilteo, it's pretty easy to get to from neighboring cities to enjoy the beauty of the Puget Sound from the beach or catch the ferry!

How often do airplanes fly above? I'm sensitive to noise and in most of Seattle every few minutes one hears them, sometimes even deafening when they fly low. Thanks!

Hi! That’s a great question! Right now, it’s estimated that Paine Field accommodates 24 departures per day. According to painefield.com, the airport has no mandatory curfew. The airport is owned by Snohomish County and does restrict airfield use to a single runway to help reduce nighttime noise between the hours of 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. This link might be pretty helpful with the noise complaints and map to visualize. It documents how many households calls came from … www.painefield.com/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/580 Depending on where in Mukilteo you are thinking about moving to, you also have the ferry noise as well as the train. The creator has replied with a good response, the best answer is it depends on where you live. There are parts of Mukilteo that will get minimal sound due to the terrain and there are parts where your directly under the flight path for the runway. In general Mukilteo/Everett would not be a good fit for anyone with sound sensitivity. I have lived here 23 years and fallen in love with the airplane noise.

@@pewpewlazerguns534 That's a great additional comment, thank you! It is interesting how you do get used to certain city noises - I love the distant sounds of the train! Additionally, we have to also deal with changing flight patterns which has happened in a lot of our communities with Paine Field, Harvey Airport in Snohomish and Lynnwood residents with low flying testing flights from Boeing.
