A friend of mine just drove to Dunedin. She absolutely loved the South Island. My only visit was literally a stop over when I first came to New Zealand. Wouldn't mind going but there is no way I'm going to do any of the hiking. Do they have track mules?
They do helicopter flights to a few places if you don't want to hike up mountains, and the gondola in Queenstown takes you to a beautiful view from the skyline. But hiking would be the cheaper option 😂. There's still lots of nice places to visit that don't need a big hike!
