It is many years since I’ve been to North Wales and to be quite honest, after spending a week there this year, I really don’t know why. The beaches are beautiful, scenery stunning and historical Castles at every turn.
We also had perfect weather for the time of year, even though we packed our wet weather gear. Unfortunately, having the dog with us meant there were a few places we couldnt go, Ie Portmeirion, plus she had an Injury so couldnt walk too far so Snowdon was out of the question as no dogs allowed on the train but we’ll save that one for next time.
Our base for the week was a cottage on the edge of the village of Criccieth on the Lyn peninsula which was great with its local shops, pubs and restaurants. All walkable from our holiday home. The larger stores, ie Tesco, Aldi and Lidl etc , could be found a few miles, away in Porthmadog.
Places visited; Abersoch, Aberdaron, whispering sands, Morfa Nefyn and Porthdinlaen, Beaumaris on Anglesey, Caernarfon, Beddgelert, Nant Gwynant, Betws-y-Coed in Snowdonia, Llanwrst, Harlech and Barmouth, amongst others. Can’t believe we did all that in a week.
