When I was a kid we would spend summers camping with my dad who logged up there. I camped in chester last summer as a logger myself and my kids now join me in the summer. Ive been lucky enough to camp out in some of the most beautiful scenery in my line of work. Be safe out there , gained a fan and subscriber. Great video
I love the shot in the beginning where you are driving through the water. I did a little bit of research on lassen. I was thinking of doing a driving tour in that area. Maybe one day I’ll get out there. Loved all the deer and cows. The entire area looks beautiful. All the tall trees remind me of Oregon. I think your not too far from there. Wow that road on the side of the mountain looked sketchy without guardrails. Lots of good stuff in here. Watch out for cow piles. 👍
Thanks! It's a really cool area. Lassen National Park is really cool too. I hope you get a chance to make it out here! It was pretty hard to dodge cow pies on that road 🤣
That shelf road looked like freeway width compared to what we just spent an hour going down on the last trip you would love it 😜… you had some crazy winds!
Great video ! Nice country around the Burney mountain. You talked about the hat creek rim being a fault. They had an earthquake there last month. We felt it all the way up here in Alturas
We're on the Northern CA coast and we've had a lot of sizable quakes this year. That must have been a good one to feel it in Alturas! Thank you for watching!
Hey thanks! I would say absolutely, we didn't use 4x4 on this trip. A few roads that we went on later in the trip (upcoming video), did not require 4x4, but weather or the time of year, (after winter storms) could certainly change that, so I would be cautious. There were lots of sharp rocks, so good tires and a spare are a must.
Oh wow, I'll have to see if I can find it. I just took a quick look at the map and there's a crazy network of roads out that way. It looks worth exploring. Thanks!
This is my backyard. Love the area. But I am curious, why air down so much? I get traction reasons but 15 seems a little low for the roads around here.
Our truck is small, so 15 isn't all that low for it. We mostly do it for a comfortable ride and to protect our tires from a puncture on sharp rocks. It doesn't take long with our system, and it's worth it for us. You live in an awesome area!
Thanks for watching! You are correct, totally unnecessary for traction on those roads. It we had a new smooth riding vehicle, we might not air down at all. But it rides so much better on washboard roads, is easier on the truck and gives the tires more give so that they don't puncture as easily.
WHY why why didn't Jeep make a two door gladiator...!? 😪 had a '78 cherokee and a cj7, now have a 2000 4L tj and the renegade for commuting. Nice ol' comanche pick up!
