Great update on real-world usage. Im curious on what kind of pricing I could expect on batteries and panels

Thanks. Glad you found it useful. It all depends on what your power requirements are. My system all in cost in the region of $17k but that is with lead/acid batteries not lithium. The system is 8kw with 10kw of solar panels. Battery is lead/acid 25Kwh.

Unless you are unsatisfied with your MPP Controllers, I recommend buying a 3rd MPP unit. Keep using and scaling what already works for you. Just my opinion. I use (2) Growatt units, and if the need arises I will buy a 3rd unit.

I am totally happy with MPP and if I upgrade I will go for MPP again. I have found them to be bullet proof. 👍🏻 That way I will have 2 spares on the shelf if ever anything goes wrong.

There are at least two companies that sell the EG4 brand in the US. It might be worth looking for a distributor in Europe every once in a while when you are ready to purchase solar parts.

Yep that’s the next hurdle. Finding an EU based supplier so I don’t get rinsed on import tax. 👍🏻😊

Video "Do you REALLY get enough out of your solar panel?" Tech Ingredients channel . His video on reflective white paint is interesting as are other video,s on his channel .He,s the science teacher every boy would of loved . Using water is a great method of keeping your panels cool but it needs a gutter system on the bottom of the panels to return the water to one of them big plastic tanks everyone uses . If you bury the tank in the ground to keep it cool you could have a recirculating system that just needs topping up due to evaporation. You could also put in the tank a water to water heat exchanger coil and cool the water and get maybe free warm /hot water as a bonus .

CNG is quite popular in Italy and is way cheaper than diesel and petrol .All internal combustion engines can run on it with a conversion kit . My 8ltr 79 Cadillac Coupe Deville runs on LPG which is half the price of petrol at 67p a ltr and is way cleaner burning . I would swap to even cleaner CNG in a heart beat but in UK we only have 8 petrol stations that sell it .The price of CNG is 42p a ltr .It's like in the UK they don't want you to know about it or use it .Sadly they are also phasing out LPG . In India they extensively use CNG and many car manufacturers make new CNG cars .They even make CNG from waste instead of land fill ,so win win .Boot space isn't a problem with the new twin tank technology ( two scuba diver bottles size ) . So run your generator off CNG ?

@@rocklover7437 I love your replies! They always give me more things to ponder. I will certainly be looking into CNG. First I heard of it.

I was thinking more along the lines of using the water from the borehole which is 100 m deep. The water can then run off the roof and water the lawn initially. That removes the need for cooling water in a closed loop. If the concept actually works we can refine it as we go. I seem to remember watching the generation go up on a hot day when I sprayed them with the hose. Now that I have Solar-Assistant I can do a more detailed experiment and get accurate figures. I will check out this channel thanks! 👍🏻

@@FarmsVillaThey don't want it as a option to electric cars .. Electric cars equals not owning a car and stuck in your WEF 15min city . Electric cars can be shut down from satellite when you monthly carbon credit is used up .They are also roving surveillance systems with the many cameras they need for autonomous driving .

Another thing, go into configuration in SA and disconnect from your inverter. then click advanced. In battery metric, select BOTH. then save, and reconnect to your inverter. go back to the dash board, and you will see more battery info without having to click on the battery. You're welcome, Enjoy.

Maybe spraying more often but a shorter time might be better and might use less water. More trouble setting up, I know.
@FarmsVilla
@FarmsVilla Год назад
First step is to prove how much it improves generation before I get involved in an elaborate setup. Record Solar assistant while I spray them down with the hose. If it delivers significant results it should not be too hard to set up a circuit on the irrigation system to run pretty much as I need it to. Added bonus it should also keep the panels clean. 😁

What sort of spray would you recommend? Micro misters may not cool them down enough. 🤔 pvc tube with lots of holes drilled in it. Might be getting ahead of myself here. 🤣
@JR-xw5dk
@JR-xw5dk Год назад
@@FarmsVilla if you have micro misters that might help and be enough to cool to improve performance. If I remember right 3°C lower would get you 1% increase performance. If it is not some what even I am not sure it would help much. I used a mister on an ac unit and it lowered the power demand, but I did not like the mineral build up If you used the PVC method you could recycle the water and may be something to look at. Maybe a rv pump? A water storage tank could be made out of plastic like 6 mil to test. A float like in a toilet could keep the tank full. That may have to be too deep. Just a thought. Maybe more panels would be easier.

Curious what your Total PV/Solar panel capacity is? How big is the solar array? Your "Solar Assistant" indicated Daily (D: 34.x KW) production. Wow! Very good production.

Hi i have 2 arrays of 4kw on the roof feeding each inverter. I also have another 2kw array on the back of the garage hooked up to a separate charge controller to take advantage of winter sun. Yeah when the sun shines here we do very well with solar.
