Your Introduction tickled me. Nice work. Good to see you both laughing together in the pool. Sorry to see the moisture problem. Is there any way to use a dehumidifier to remove the moisture over time? Or like Vic6820 wrote, possibly poor drainage below the foundation? Thanks for sharing. More laughing, good times pool antics! Enjoy the good life, love your home.

Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂 Luckily we got it done in 1 take. Yep. I was just saying to Mandy the other day we spend all our time working and never take time off to enjoy the fruits of our labour. So Sunday was going to be our day off........... 🤣 If only! We do use our dehumidifier regularly but it is a pointless exercise if you don't stop the water coming in first.

If you are sure it's rising damp as oppose to condensation, then it could be poor drainage outside, it could be a cracked water pipe, it could be water running down from rhe roof somewhere. It could do with some external venting perhaps.

I'm pretty sure it is rising damp. A leaking water pipe would cause this condition all year not just when it is the rainy season. Next job is to seal the roof. I'm sure there is some water getting in that way as well but the main issue is at the bottom of the walls so we tackled the cracked grout first. 👍🏻 I agree extra venting for the cavity space under the floors will also help. I don’t think there is enough ventilation on that side of the house.

Your pool is looking great! 😎 I noticed your downspouts end on the tile outside. Would it be worth adding a piece to extend them out to the grass so less water is hitting the tiles and possibly sitting along the edge of the wall you have sealed? Looks like a lot of work to do every year. 😳

Thanks. There was a time there that I thought it was never going to be blue again. 😳 It is a LOT of work to do every year. This is the last time. If this doesn't work we will move out the house into a tent! 🤣 I am pretty sure the grout cracking is 90% of the problem. Since sealing with silicone you can see water droplets sitting on the tiles and silicone. Before sealing there was no water visible as it all ran into the cracks. fingers crossed this is the final fix!

@@FarmsVilla It sounds like you have fixed the problem then! 🤞 Your plaster repair job looks good! Hopefully it's the last time you have to do it. I can't imagine living in a tent would be all that comfortable. 😂

At least living in a tent you expect to see damp. 🤣 Fix one problem for another one to appear. Our borehole pump died yesterday 😫

@@FarmsVilla Oh no! It’s always something. Just when you think you can relax a little something else needs fixing. 😕

@@notyouraveragegringos not a little thing that needs fixed sadly. It is at times like this you realise just how difficult it is to become truly self sufficient. I will turn my hand to most anything but I know my limitations and dealing with a well pump 100 meters deep is a step too far. So I am at the mercy of the well technician atm. We are able to hand water veggies but not sure how long our holding tank will last if we are doing this. The grass is already turning crispy after not watering for 2 days. 😢
