I'd like to see some documentation on what all the scarf seam settings do. This video gives me a good starting point, but I haven't been able to find anything that describes what the different settings do, so dialing it in is a lot of trial and error.

I’m sure someone is hard at work on that! Thanks for watching!

I tried your settings on a little articulated octopus and the seam almost disappeared. Then I changed the seam location to random and the seam vanished altogether. Last time I tried random seams i got a model with zits everywhere - using random scarf seams the print is amazingly clean.

Yet again, another great video pard'...real quick, maybe it's the angle but I liked the Classic a tad better! I just input some of those changes on one of my Orca settings and will try it on the next model that requires a seam (haven't had a lot of those lately but am planning some bigger prints). Keep up the great vids!

I liked classic myself. There was a very slight bump in it at the seam point. I couldn’t feel it, and had to look real hard to see it. I had some people (non-makers), look at the pieces. Everyone spotted that standard seam but couldn’t find it it classic or Arachne versions.

I finally installed orca slicer the other day and gave it a go. I was really resistant since I find the whole layout of prusaslicer to be very illogical and unintuitive. I had hoped they would have fixed some of this in orcaslicer, and boy howdy, was I ever wrong. I was shocked at how little sense it made to me. Perhaps I'm just used to cura but at least in cura i don't have to dig to find what should be easy to find settings. I actually had to do a search online just to figure out where they hid the filament temp settings. lol. I NEVER would have considered that i had to click on this tiny box to open up a hidden menu. Why they can't just put a row of tabs across the top baffles me. I really do want to use it tho and I want to use its features but they make it so difficult for me to justify the time. This is one area that i firmly believe will be the next "big thing" that will make 3d mainstream... the software. Slicing a file shouldn't be the hard part 😊

Switching slicers is never easy! It took me a while, now I can bounce around from Cura to Bambu Studio to Orca to Creality Print. I learned Orca because it had a little bit more functionality than Bambu Studio but beyond that they are very similar. I agree with the software being the "next big thing" when it comes to 3D Printing. Thanks for watching and welcome back! It's been a while!

Very useful video. I'm printing wheels at the moment and my seems are barely visible now. Thank you for the great video.

I have a set of tires I printed in TPU a few months ago. I'm thinking of doing the same as you and reprinting with the scarf seam! Thanks for watching!

@@pushingplastic7445 What TPU would you recommend for the K1 Max?
@pushingplastic7445
@pushingplastic7445 4 месяца назад
@@MarcoS-dc2le Honestly I couldn't recommend one. I've only ever tried Overture 95A TPU in the K1 Max. the only reason I tried that was because it was what I had. It worked pretty well with the Generic-TPU profile in Creality Print. But I am wanting to try Creality's HP-TPU. I'm hoping that the combination of their filament, in their printer with their profile will give good results. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching!

Excellent video👍👍 Gonna check out your adaptive layer one next. ive not tried orca yet but im going to try it out today on my k1. Please can you do the comparisons in a matte filament if you have one because the shine makes the seams difficult to see properly

Thank for the kind words. I agree 100%, I need to find a good Matte filament. I released this video a week later than I wanted to because of that. I tried a few different colors, all looked great to the naked eye but throw the camera the gloss really showed. I tried 3 different cameras and a few different angles, all giving the same results. I'm going to make it my mission to find a good matte filament going forward. Thanks for watching!

@@pushingplastic7445 that must take ages switching between 3 different cameras and editing it all together. i managed to get some matte overture pla on sale from amazon, it was 2kg for £11 i think they must have got the price wrong- Black and white I will be looking forward to your upcoming videos and tests.
